In town for my buddy's birthday, I drove in Wednesday night. Because of less than great planning on my part, and the disease of road work that seems to have infected every town between my home and Vegas, I arrived at 4 am. It was easy to get a cheap room at my usual CET spots for most of the nights, but apparently conventions killed availability on Wednesday. I figured I should live it up a little, so I checked the high dollar spots. Yikes,
“They all know me as a small-timer. But that’s about to change.”
It’s that time of year again!
This will be my 5th long trip to Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker. You can read about my trip last year, plus a couple bonus Harrah’s Cherokee trips, right here.
This will also be my longest trip yet, a massive 18 days! I’ll be in town June 14 - July 2. On the agenda: some WSOP bracelet events, lots of l
At the age of 62 (AARP members unite!), I have decided that I will write a trip report for my 2024 trek to the World Series of Poker. Not exactly “Stop the Presses” news, although maybe an old-man poker TR from a former sportswriter turned entrepreneur/investor is somewhat unique.
This trip report proclamation and five nickels will get me a quarter. I get it. Lots of people promise/start trip reports and then never follow through (blasted).

Hi all, apparently my previous thread may have gotten so long that it's causing issues for the website. So, here is a new thread to keep this going, and it also gives me an opportunity to provide a quick recap of how I've gotten to that point.
Background- - former poker player; got in pre-2003 boom, printed money online until about 2007 when games got harder/I started making decent money - took poker roll and transitioned to straight casino de
I only made my first trip to Las Vegas 9 years ago - January of 2011. We stayed at the Imperial Palace. I played poker there exhausted and lost more thn 3/4 of the money I came with in the first six hours.
I had made annual or semi-annual trips every year until 2017 when I took a job dealing the WSOP. Mostly it was an excuse to play a lot of poker.
At the end of the summer I went back to Philadelphia to gather my stuff, pack up my car and
Heading out to Vegas for most of next week as the title mentions. I have some poker and trip-related goals that I'd like to accomplish and thought a small trip report blog will help hold myself accountable.
About me: Just turned 30 earlier this month. My remote job allows me to travel a decent bit. I love scoring a hotel deal and heading out to Vegas for a few days; this will indeed be the 20th time I've done so. I have been playing PLO cash
Per a poker news article that just dropped, it sounds like a 50 table room with modern electronic equipped tables will be opening this summer on level 2. Will also have a dedicated room for streaming and vlogging.
Glad to see a casino expanding and upgrading their poker room in Vegas, especially after the Venetian has kept shrinking theirs every few years.
Hi everyone, need some advice about going to Vegas to play in the WSOP next year.
I was planning on going in 2020 after I turned 21 but obviously COVID happened and scuppered those plans, and the past 2 years I have gone on family holidays instead but next year I am 100% planning on fulfilling my dream of playing in the WSOP.
I'm not planning of staying the whole series, just for 2 weeks (or 3 if I make it into the 2nd week of the Main) so lo
Hi guys, I wanted to ask you if you know of any casinos where poker players can participate directly in the rewards system. So far I only know of Caesars Rewards where you actively level up your status as a poker player. At all other casinos I only know the comp/hour and special promos (high hand, bad beat jackpot etc.). So my question is, are there any other casinos besides Caesars that actively involve poker players in the rewards system?
Since there are so many questions about hotels, I was thinking it would be useful for people to post the hotels they have stayed along with reviews of the rooms, service, restaurants, poker rooms, etc. There are of course tons of sites on the internet with this info, but this will hopefully be poker and food-centric in keeping with the 2+2 demographic.
My experiences as follows:

The Las Vegas Lifestyle forum gets many threads about people looking for a roommate or a room for rent. This thread will be the central place for those posts. This can include short term and longterm rentals for vacation or residency. This does not include trying to buy comped hotel rooms belonging to another player at a resort.

This thread is only for those looking to rent a room or looking for a roommate.
