I'm a 19yo college student at Rutgers, who loves poker. I'm a math and computer science double major and just transferred from Fordham. I learned about journaling in my second semester and the positive mental health effects it has, so I started doing it for the gym and it helped me, so now I want to do it for poker. I'm a sophomore in college right now, but a semester ahead because of college credit obtained in high school. I mainly started
First post in this specific forum. Normally post in NL Strategy. Hoping for some feedback about bankroll management.
I started playing 4-5 times a week at MGM National Harbor in March after a few months off. Previously I had been playing at MD Live and lost most of what I had won (around $1,200). Anyway, I took $200 to the casino and tried my luck. No bankroll to start really.
I had a great March (+$3,000) but a terrible April (-$3,000
Currently in the midst of my worst ever downswing at $1/$2 live. Last night I had my worst ever losing session (-$900 in 5 hours) while playing at MGM Springfield, which is about an hour from my house. On the drive back, I briefly contemplated taking a short break from poker. The conclusion that I came to was that instead of taking a break, I want to double-down on studying and improving my game. I'm starting this blog to document and hold
I'm Tim, from Ljubljana, Slovenia, currently playing poker full time for around 2years. Till now I reached the point to be able to make some monthly money with pokerinho and start living a bit better more chill life then I was before with my previous shity job and lifestyle in general. But now I came to the point where I want to take my game to the next level, to get better in the game, play a bit higher stakes, be able to earn more money
I've learned a bunch from the strategy/life posts on 2+2 over the years and want to involve others in my own poker-related goal: to play, write about, and better understand poker in the U.S. By "better understand poker" I don't mean learning when to reshove with 20BBs vs. a loose opener. I'm more interested in the tougher-to-answer questions that you may have asked yourself from time to time. How is poker important to me? Why does my family
I came up with this idea throughout a two-week holiday that I took a while back. I'd just played cash at a week-long tournament series. Normally, I'd treat these things like a holiday - play for 12 hours, drink for a couple of hours with friends, and then return the next day for more of the same. However, everything was last-minute this time, and my hotel was a 15-minute drive from the casino. I couldn't drink. This was game-changing.
Greetings to everyone and thank you in advance for your time.
I used to play poker as a rec, mostly tourneys in private clubs whenever I had time .3 years (!) later I fell in love with the game and cash games specifically. I used to work many hours per day so my volume was pretty low.I was making some money playing 100-200nl avg on private clubs and apps.I thought that there is some potential and joined a regulated site to play.I got crush
In short: - 4tabling reg tables - NL6max -Starting with 500€ @NL10 - Move up @30 Buy-Ins for NL20 (600 $) - Post weekly once - no hands or time played per week goals (got real life job) and enough other obligations (Family, Sports and so on) - try to review all hands above 15bb (maybe even post some hands 😀 ) - Not new to Poker, but most certainly still a typical nit reg 😀

With this thread I want to share my hopefully successful poker journey. I try to be totally transparent about how things are going, how I feel and what my motivations are. Also, I look for input from you guys and discussions about poker because I don't have anyone to discuss poker related topics with.
Some stuff about me:
I quit a well payed day job at the end of last year because I run out of motivation and started to feel burn

Life, much like poker, raises endless questions. What is the purpose of all this? Do I have any control, or is everything in my life GTO(or not) autopilot? Are the people around me NPCs, just going through the motions? Are they programmed? Am I programmed? Is this all just the mat
