Hello all, I want to start a blog and see if it generates any interest... So here we go!
It has been already 12 years ago since I ended up in Dawson City in northern Canada... Little did I know that I was at the tail end of a 4 year relationship with my girlfriend, and that our 1 month on the road hitching would land us here in northern Yukon, land of beauty and desolation, and eventually introduce me to holdem...
This is my story and if anyone wants advice on joining me then let me know. I’m originally from the UK, London and have been playing poker for around 6 years to varying success but as it was to secondary work never really committed. Then the economic down turn happened I sold business (a night club) and I thought I’d take a couple of years out in a cheap foreign country.
I live on the Cambodian coast in a place called Sihanoukvil
Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines? I think that would be a very interesting thread. My cousin was there for a vacation and he said it was great. He said hot women were treating him like a rock star and his money really went far!
I'm an online pro living in HCMC, Vietnam (district 2) and interested in starting a thread for those of us living here to exchange information and avoid duplication of effort in getting addresses changed with poker sites, banking, and advice in general about living here. Also possibly meet up for beers or dinner on occasion.
About myself, I'm an online limit pro from the US that moved here in January of this year after a year+ living in Bue
Fair warning, though: I am neither as interesting nor as good a writer as chopstick.
Suggestions for a better title, are welcome. I was trying to think of a play on 'chasing the ball', which would be both golddog-ish and the ball representing the world, but I failed. Running around is something golddogs like to do too though.
Was wondering if there are any other pros in Costa Rica. I just booked an apartment in the city center (near the Sabanna) for somewhat cheap (~800/month), will be staying there at least 3 month starting in May. The flight was dirt cheap as well.
What should I know? How is cost of living (groceries, gyms, dinners etc.) apart from rent? Is there an expat culture or is Spanish heavily required (I am learning 😀 ). How is the culture towards fo
Hi, I'm Bryan. I like to travel a lot. I used to keep a couple blogs here on moving to Mexico, then travelling South America - felt like it just got played out eventually and a ton of people ended up moving there so I didn't really have anything new to offer.
This is my new dear diary where I'll post pics and happenings when I feel like it.
In Bangkok, Thailand right now and will probably cruise Asia until summer, then move back to South Am
I just got back from a photo trip in Patagonia, where we drove a lot. I LOVE the region and South America in general. Never been to Central America but I've had some great trips in Mexico.
I have two jobs and I'm sick of both. I don't think the side job will last much longer, and the day job is about done for me. I probably need to stick it out until the end of year to get my bonus and pay off some 401(k) loans. But unless I get plugged int
Hello going to Greece and Italy with my wife and two teens in August. This is starting to get a little overwhelming with what excursions to choose, is better to hire a private guide or none at all.
Going to Rome, Santorini, Athens, Mykonos, Malta, Messina, Naples, Florence.
Any advice for anything at all would be very helpful.
Going for a trip to canary islands and want to know on what islands there are casinos with poker and if there are any other cardroomes etc. Was also wondering what the laws are regarding setting up your own cardroom/homegame. Thanks for any info.
I'm a Dutch player thinking of moving to Vietnam to grind online cash for a living, probably on some crypto poker sites or possibly GG and Pokerstars. Choosing Vietnam specifically as I have a bunch of Vietnamese family members living there which is nice. So I'm pretty sure (online) cash games are illegal here (how about online MTTs?), but I wonder how strictly the laws are enforced. Will I get imprisoned for making a living playin
I'm living and playing in Macau for years now but started to looking for some new destination in Asia with live NL cash games. Been to Manila but games are dry and full of scammers. Are there any other sensible destinations with decent action?
Will be in Ireland for ~1week end of August. Have been 2x but never been to Galway at all
Train from Dublin best bet?
Will do normal tourist stuff...day trip to Connemara? Cliffs of Moher (went once in a monsoon), etc
Is Galway City Centre the best spot to stay? Any other can't miss places? Thinking 3 nights should be plenty over there and then move back to the east.
I am going on a 3 week vacation from 19th of July, might take 4 weeks but at the moment scheduled for 3 weeks off work.
Might be travelling solo and would like to hear advise from people if you can recommend a place with good poker action, with tourists and not only local nits.
I have been multiple times to Barcelona, Marbella/Malaga on solo travel and poker action here was pretty good and also nightlife, beach, weather etc is always good,

I recently found out that Malaysia is one of the cheapest places in the world. I was thinking about going there for 3 months next summer to check it out, with the possibility of moving there full time. However, I have some questions: Firstly, can you play online poker in Malaysia? Is it legal? Can you get your money in and out easily over there? Secondly, is $300 a month enough to live on over there? I heard that £150 ($300) more than cover
Hi, I never planned to stay in my country forever; I expected to leave much sooner. However, here I am, looking to potentially relocate permanently. I'm not sure where tho.
Please note that by saying that I'm looking for a place for a "permanent" stay I mean somewhere I'd choose to stay for 10 years as the world is very dynamic, and what may seem like a nice country or city now could become unlivable within a few years due to external or int
I think similar topics have been done before, but I would really like something that rates specific criteria in a clear and concise way. I'm thinking about five separate aspects of what I would want and I think they cover what most people would be concerned with. The rating would just be on a score from 1 to 10, with 10 being the best. I will explain the criteria and then give an example. If anyone else could add to it using the same fo
