Triple Barrel this River?

Ignition - $0.05 PL Hi (6 max) - Omaha Hi - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: 83 BB
MP: 12 BB
Hero (CO): 288.6 BB
BTN: 37 BB
SB: 73.8 BB
BB: 100 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has K 2 Q A

UTG calls 1 BB, MP calls 1 BB, Hero raises to 5.4 BB, fold, fold, fold, UTG calls 4.4 BB, fold

Flop: (13.2 BB, 2 players) J 3 8
UTG checks, Hero bets 8.4 BB, UTG calls 8.4 BB

Turn: (30 BB, 2 players) 2
UTG checks, Hero bets 20 BB, UTG calls 20 BB

River: (70 BB, 2 players) 7
UTG checks, Hero checks

I barreled the turn because I picked up a FD.

However, I decided to check-back the river because I don't block T9, and I block missed flushes, so villain is more weighted to sets, two pair, and possibly a straight.

A side question: In general, draws make good bluffs on the flop & turn because they have equity against villain's calling range. However, missed draws make bad bluffs on the river, because they block villain's folding range.

So, if all draws brick on the river, we can't bluff with our missed draws. What should we bluff with when draws brick?

this is not a cbet flop

Okay, good to know. When I'm heads-up post-flop, I tend to c-bet most boards when checked to IP. But I think I'm just c-betting too much.

Your villains will not exploit you if you cbet a bit too much on these boards with hands that have some equity. They will also fold too much and never bluff raise.

To the actual question, yes I would feel compelled to bluff. You still have JJ/88 and he very unlikely has those. He is likely to bet T9 himself. I would think he is way overfolding here.

Ya, I like c-betting a lot IP because I'm rarely check-raised (and if I am, it's almost always value, never just a draw).

Regarding river bluff: Common wisdom is, we shouldn't bluff with our missed draws because our opponent is more weighted to value. But here, the fact that he is just check-calling means he's capped at 2-pair, and you think a triple-barrel is likely to work?

I'm curious in general: When we have a draw, and our draw bricks, when should we triple barrel? Is it fair to say, we should be more aggressive when OOP is check-calling (because they're weighted to pair/ two pair), but give up more when OOP check-raised on a previous street (because they likely have a set)?

So what hands are you bluffing then? Only very weak hands that you happened to barrel on the turn? Diamonds are non-nut and bd. Yes I think villain is fairly capped and weaker players don't know how to defend properly against aggression.

Of course you should bluff less the stronger you perceive villain's range to be. This is especially true in lower limits because people are very tied to absolute hand strengths.
