LAS VEGAS (July 17, 2023) – On the heels of a record-shattering summer, the richest, most prestigious and longest-running poker series – the World Series of Poker (WSOP) – is heading to paradise this winter to kick off a new live tournament poker series, WSOP Paradise. The newly minted series, made possible through a partnership with GGPoker, is set to take place from December 3-14, 2023, at Atlantis Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
Thoughts?
Ostensibly an attempt to leverage the WSOP brand and the idea of "bracelets" to try to create a PCA clone.
Time frame collides with Wynn's WPT World Championship stuff.
Given the choice between the two, it's easy for me to stay stateside and fire an event or two at Wynn, which is a first class venue.
Summer WSOP is a unique spectacle, but I do think all the WSOP-adjacent stuff like WSOP-C, WSOP-E, online bracelets, and this new WSOP-P are cheap cash grabs that dilute the prestige of the brand. Since Americans can't play on GG, I suppose we're not the target audience though. Packages will be a carrot to rake the foreign market.

I want to respond to this old post for those who don't have experience with non-US facing sites as American citizens post BF. Yes you can play on GG but the process is not instant. Plan at least a day ahead. There will be some verification steps to handle (by email), and you can deposit via BTC or by having a GG employee manually transfer from your WSOP+ account, which would be my suggestion.
Plan a couple days ahead to load your WSOP+ account. Add some extra money for whatever reason you might want some extra cash. I think there's no reason to land in the Bahamas with more than a couple hundred bucks in small bills. You can move WSOP+ funds to Atlantis chips to cash and reverse the process.
Americans cannot use LuxonPay.
