2024 WSOP!

The World Series of Poker has wrapped up its newest winter series and is announcing new details for the 2024 summer event in Las Vegas.

“…..Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “But it’s time to turn the page and begin the countdown to 2024. Records are made to be broken. We’re busy on improvements to make sure 2024 is both the biggest and best event in poker history. Mark your calendars and bank those vacation days. We’ll see you in Vegas.”

The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2 on July 7 and 8.

The full daily event schedule for the 55th annual WSOP will be announced in early 2024. Fan favorites, including the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, will return to the schedule in 2024. …..”

Hi everyone! Haven't checked out this forum in a while! 😀

Was wondering if other solo travellers would want to meetup for drinks or food during wsop or if someone else already thought about organising something with other people from 2+2.

First time I'm travelling alone to the wsop as most players I know only play online and my friend I use to go with won't make it this year.

Would be nice te meet some other people. Ill be going arround 24 june till the end of the ME.

That's a good idea. I doubt that I will have the bankroll to play the main event. I always see players from the Phoenix area where I live at the WSOP. Phoenix is a poker town.

I think Red Chip usually has some sort of get-together but it's in the second half of the Series so I never attended when I was a member. I'm not sure if you have to be a paying member or just a member of the forum.

Anyone know if/when they will announce the date for the TOC this year?? Seems unfair to people who won a ring to not announce it by now.

I was just at the stop in Tulsa and a lot of chatter about it. Rumors that it might be at the Choctaw stop or the Commerce one or pre or post WSOP in Vegas. Tournament director expressed frustration it had not been announced and told me to keep checking on WSOP.com. Does seem kind of late in the game for them not to have announced it yet.

For those looking for hotel rooms during the WSOP, I just rebooked at the cheapest rate yet, so you may want to take a look at the rates today. I initially booked back in December for about $1100 for 11 days (just the room rate, not taxes and fees). I check the rates almost daily, and so far today I've found the cheapest rates. I've moved my reservation from HS to Harrahs and Flamingo a few times, and today I booked Harrahs for $307 for the 11 nights. The rates change constantly, and are different for each person, but these are the cheapest rates I've seen so far this year for each of the CET hotels, so hopefully it's lower for everyone else too.

BTW, when I had my previous reservation, I was able to see the lower rates online, but when I when to rebook, the rates skyrocketed since I already had a booking at that time. Even though the message on the website said that I can continue to book for the best available rates, it gave me the much higher rates. I cancelled my previous booking and then tried again, and then I got the lower rates that I originally saw today.

Remember that the rates fluctuate a lot, even throughout a given day, so if you're reading this and go to check the hotel rates and they're not lower than last time you looked, continue to check back often and hopefully you'll find something that works for you. Good luck!

Are there any codes for discounts at the Horseshoe or Paris if playing in the WSOP?

Are there any codes for discounts at the Horseshoe or Paris if playing in the WSOP?

The WSOP has provided the code "WSOP24" for discounts. If you have a rewards card, you can sometimes get a better discount than that code, depending on your play at Caesars properties. There's also a Seniors, Military, Teacher and other discounts which you can try to see if either of those gives you cheaper rates, if they apply to you. When booking a room through the Caesars website, look at the "Discount Type" pull down for what's available.

we pay online right? through wsop .com and then confirm it at the register still? same its been for last few years?

I think most use BravoPokerLive to pay online. That's the way I've been doing it and using a credit card. wsop.com/registration steers you to Bravo.

Do I need an American Credit Card to use Bravo App or can I use any VISA/MC/AE which is connected to my German account?

Yeah, when it says that it just ignores that you're a TR member, and gives you a rate like you're just off the street.

Same, very curious what they’re doing. If they do schedule ToC during WSOP at this point in Vegas, I’m hoping it’s after the main event. Hotel rates and flights to Vegas in July will be pretty high.

Choctaw would be a great option since there are so many people on the east coast side who win rings online. Much cheaper travel costs than Vegas or LA I would imagine.

Either way, I’m really hoping they figure it out soon so we can all get travel figured out.

When will WSOP release the online schedule this Summer?

Same question for the Tournament of Champions....... why are they being slow with these dates? Weird

I'm remembering one large field tournament last year where they had some issues (dealer shortage I think it was) and one room ended up behind the other by something like an hour. Can't remember which event it was since I wasn't playing it myself, but I heard the stories about what a cluster it was.

That's crazy - I couldn't imagine that sort of thing. I played the Collusus last year and was surprised at how well such a large field was ran.

Kind of difficult to imagine how certain issues would be dealt with if it affected one room - guessing clocks would be paused?

I played it . They extended the break durations in the Paris(?) room to let the Horseshoe players catch up. As I recall we got a Full 1 hour break about the 2nd or 3rd break. It was a bit of a PITA but nothing terrible and a solution that made sense. I can't remember for sure but it MIGHT have been the mini main.

I don't understand them jumping to another platform (except for lower fees) it's not like we'll be able to buy into WSOP events in the USA using crypto (which this platform purports).....WSOP in Paradise is genius for being able to use crypto in itself.

Why one of these platforms can't legally accept a stablecoin which others can convert their crypto into is beyond me

I guess usd is still the only useful utility of value in "the land of the free"........rolleyes

As promised, pic of the new Normandy ballroom setup for the Horseshoe WSOP circuit series. This is purported to be the new home of the daily deepstacks this summer.

Very simple to find. Go towards the Horseshoe poker room and veer off towards the escalators past Nosh. Go up one level and hang a right.

The room has a cage near the entrance, which you can barely see here. The floor space is greater than this picture suggests, but still smaller than the main Paris ballroom, the main Horseshoe tourney space, and the old Rio pavilion room. For old heads, I want to say it's bigger than the old Rio Miranda ballroom, but smaller than Brasilia or Amazon.

Should be a decent place to play, but won't provide the sensation of being on the heartbeat of the WSOP like the old pavilion room where you were in the center of the action.

There did not seem to be any cash tables running unless I missed them.

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!!!!!

I need the WSOP to start! Turn those machines back on.

Thanks for sharing the pic! A little bummed it seems like it won’t be in the middle of the action but if it works better logistically, I’m all for it.
