Dealer's Choice: Which games are actually played?
Are there any databases that detail which variety of poker was picked how often in past Dealer's Choice events, and how the distribution differs from the entire player pool and those who make it in the money?
If this is yet another $1500 NLHE game in disguise, I might as well play a cheaper NLHE event.
If players do indeed give rarer varieties a try, which ones would maximize my EV?

Obviously table dependent but based on my one experience in 2017 I don't think you need to worry about it being a NLHE fest.
Since it is 6 handed and the game changes every orbit you are constantly shifting gears. In my case the first 2 hours seemed to be players picking the game they felt most comfortable with. After that several of the guys had picked up on what some of us were uncomfortable with and kept calling - badeucy and so on. There was a lot of preflop/predraw folding by those who weren't familiar with the chosen game. One guy kept calling 7 stud hi-lo regular (that is no qualifier for low) which,, if you aren't prepared for it, is very confusing for low - to me anyway. I enjoyed playing but can't see ever playing in it again.
Can't imagine how there would be any stats on game frequency - dealer certainly wasn't keeping track.
As far as EV probably stick to the ones you are most comfortable with and fold a lot with the others.

I never looked at the allowed list of games, but I like 7 stud hi-lo regular, I wish a Omaha hi-lo variant would become popular, no qualifier, either limit or pot limit
