Optimal RFI size relative to rake?

Just wondering if anyone knows how to figure this out?

For example, what's the optimal RFI size in a $2/$5 game with 10% rake up to $10 + $2 for bonuses once the pot is over $20?

Or a $1/$3 game with 10% rake up to $10 + $2 for bonuses once the pot is over $20?

Is this a punt or a good jam?

Hi all,

I was playing some $1/$3 at my local casino last night:

PREFLOP

Folds to the LJ, a new young player who's finding his feet. He opens to $12 and the C/O and BTN both call. I'm in the SB with KJ - and figure this is a good opportunity to squeeze, so I raise to $70. Only the button calls. He has $320 behind and I have him covered.

FLOP ($152 after rake)

T 7 6

I've whiffed, but I have backdoors and overcards, and I've seen villain make sever

Should I call this river check-raise?

Hi all,

Played this hand today at my local $2/$5 game.

Action folds to me in the button. I look down at T9 and open to $15. SB folds and a regular rec opponent of mine calls in the BB. I have $500 behind and I have him covered.

The flop comes down 997 and villain leads for $20. I call.

The turn is the 6. Villian bets $60, I call.

The river is the K. Villain checks, I bet $125 for value. Villain waits for a moment and then jams for $400.

Hero.

Should I call this river probe?

Hi guys,

I was playing some $2/$5 at my local casino last night. I opened AJ in UTG+2 to $12 off a $500 stack. Only the BB called; a pretty tight and solid player.

Flop came down Q64 and the BB checked to me. I bet $9 and he calls.

Turn is the 2 and it checked through.

River is the J and the BB bets $40.

Hero...?

Should I call this river raise after the turn has checked through?

Hi guys,

I was playing at my regular $2/$5 place last night. There was one limp before it got to me in C/O and I opened to $25 with T8. The button, who's been playing a pretty solid game all day, 3bets to $70 off a $500 stack (and I have him covered). I call and the flop comes T84. I check to him, he bets $50, I call. I realise I can raise at this point but I know he's gonna cbet close to range here, and I wanted to keep his bluffs in (and

Should I call this flop 3bet jam?

Hi all,

I was playing some $2/$5 at my local casino last night; a nice limpy action game.

Action folds to the Lojack, a loose aggressive player, who limps in for $5 off a $455 stack. I'm on the button and look down at 65. I want to isolate and play pots in position against the Lojack. I have his stack covered; I go to $30 and he calls. (I realize this is a larger than usual size for raising limpers - I used $22/$25 in the past, but that size

Should I call this raise on the river?

Hi all,

I was playing some $2/$5 last night at my local casino.

Action folded to the button - a regular loose passive low stakes superstar - who limped for $5, I look down at AQ and make it $30, he calls. Effective stacks are around $900; 180bbs.

The flop comes AT9 - all well and good; I bet $25 and he calls.

The turn brings AT98 - bingo! I bet $75 and he calls.

The river brings AT989. I bet $150, he gives a speech asking if I have a flush etc a

Any mixed games available in upcoming tournaments?

Hi all,

I'm in Vegas and loving the mixed game tournaments available at The Orleans. I'm wondering if anyone knows any other upcoming festivals that feature mixed games, such as HORSE or 8-game mix? They seem few and far between, I had a quick look and EPT Barcelona seems to be the only festival that includes any mixed games. That's too far away for me - I'm looking for something in the USA or Canada.

Any info greatly appreciated.

Should pocket 9s call in the BB facing a 10bb jam at final table?

Hi all,

A friend of mine was playing a tournament last night. It's the final table with 9 players and 6 getting paid. Payouts are as follows:

1. $1850
2. $1000
3. $600
4. $400
5. $265
6. $150

Blinds are 5k/10k with a 10k BBA.

Stack sizes are as follows:

400k, 350k, 300k, 290k, 260k, 240k, 190k, 130k, 115k.

UTG+1 (130k) limps for 10k, folds to SB who jams for 115k. BB has 300k and pocket nines. What is the correct ICM play?

Should this hand be a call given the ICM considerations?

What are the lowest rake casino cash games in the world?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows where the lowest rake in low stakes cash games in the world is? I'm thinking of moving country and play a lot of 1/3 and 2/5. I've been thinking of moving to Vancouver/Montreal/Barcelona, but all of those have relatively high rake in the cash games. Does anyone know any major casinos where the rake is reasonable?

TIA

How to Adjust When There is Extra Money in the Pot Preflop?

Hi all,

When watching online streams, I often see players going aggressively after splash pots and so on. I was wondering if anyone knows the optimal way to approach this? I.e. how much wider than the default GTO opening ranges should a player go if there is, for example, an additional 1bb in the pot from each player, in both 6-max and full ring? It seems to me that players open far wider than they should in these spots, and I'm interested

How to Adjust When Opponent is Value-Heavy?

Hi all,

I heard recently that when we know opponents are bluffing even 1% too much, we should call with all of our bluff-catchers. I was wondering if the inverse is true? I.e. If they are underbluffing by 1%, should we then fold 100% of our bluff catchers?

Who pays the rake?

Hi all,

An argument just broke out in my local poker game about who pays the rake in poker. One side is arguing that only the winner of a hand pays rake, other side is arguing that many people contribute money to the pot, therefore many people pay rake - i.e. the losers of a hand, as well as the winner.

Which is it?
