2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

I’m way more strict at sticking to 2 at onesies with high draft capital on UD than DK.

And I really like at least one QB/TE stack per roster if I can manage it.

Although, I’m working on a slow where Goedert fell 20 picks past ADP, and I already had 2 TEs. My team was pretty strong at the other spots. So I took him to see how it turns out.

Team so far

Mahomes

Mondre, Moss, Zeke, Jaleel

Puka, Malik, Rome, Hollywood, Jamo

Kelce, Njoku, Goedert

Griddy style.

Draft Kings pick 8.

Much different ADP's compared to UD so I'll have to get used to what is going on.

QB) Caleb, Purdy

RB) Breece, Warren, Brooks, Mclaughlin, Wright, Vidal, Tracy

WR) Nico, DJ, Aiyuk, Odunze, Jamo, Wicks, Mcmillan, Losivas

TE) Andrews, Knox, Theo

Think this team woulda been better swapping out Bateman whose literally useless for isiah likely the more than likely excuse the pun 3rd target on the ravens

Coulda had likely and McMillan

I already had Otton as my TE3. Honestly wasn't even planning on taking another Raven so wasn't looking ahead.

They certainly aren't making Tomlin's job any easier. Both looked good. Granted it is against the Lions backup D.

That's always a tough choice when you really don't need him. Goedert is a good player I'm not sure why he is falling so much. Do people think Dotson is gonna eat into his targets?

Did you get him in the 12th? There are still some decent RB's usually in that range I would have gone with. That being said, you can't expect Kelce to weekly put up huge numbers like he used to so having an extra big spike week option at TE is a good thing. It also takes away a TE option for someone.

The team looks nice so far.

I was just about to say fields is going to be solid for the steelers I’m actually a fan of his since his freshman year at Georgia when he didn’t play but I think this year they need a vet they’re 0-4 in the playoffs so the team is good to win they just need a vet to Stabilize the team. But it’s going to be points scored regardless because I like the make up of the skill positions .. btw Patterson may muck up the 2 rb tandem and make it unplayable at 3 backs

Yeah, took him at 134.

Goedert has had one of the highest draft ranges all summer. He can go as early as early-mid 9th or fall into the 11th.

I think people are still sour after taking him in the 7th last season. I’ve been pretty bullish on him, and will continue to be even with the Dotson addition. I have 11% with roughly 2/3rds of those shares stacked with Hurts.

Passed on Charb, Chandler, Dobbins, Wright, etc.

Also passed on Polk, which was probably the most optimal choice.

Took Jaleel at 155 and currently waiting to be otc for 158.

Can go Stafford or Watson to finish up at QB. Or take McMillan. Leaning McMillan’s upside since I should be able to add Nix, Maye or Dimes later.

I would have gone with one of those RBs.

Your next pick is tough. If this is a big tournament I'd go McMillan. He's already locked up the number 3 and has looked really good in camp and games. He's my favorite WR pick late in drafts. If he is a hit it makes your Goedert pick look better. I like Goedert/McMillan better than Polk/whoever. We are betting on a nuclear season for Mahomes so getting one of the late guy's makes sense. Having that solid backup QB is nice as well and both would be stacked. It's nice to have to sweat it later in the draft. Both Stafford and Watson have some upside.

These guys have the complete opposite take on Gibbs' hammy

Yeah, in theory probably should pass on the Goedert value. But that’ll be my only team like that all season, so I said **** it haha. It’s the Mini Schnauzer 7.

I ended up taking McMillan.

Why is DK so all over the place compared to UD? Why would someone take Tua in the second round? Are these people really this dumb or are they trolling? Who are they trolling? It's so weird.

I said a long time ago DK is super soft.

You can definitely get great value, but the downside is you can also miss out on some QBs and stacks because of how much people reach.

My goal is to stick as close to ADP thru the first 11-12 rounds, but after that I have no problems with reaching if I really need a player.

Hard to get excited about the Steeler's offense for fantasy. Arthur Smith has made his philosophy pretty apparentl. It fits with old school Steeler doctrine and they could be solid but I'm not losing any sleep not getting their starting QB.

- I don’t mind Pickens after ADP
- I love both Steelers RBs
- I’m off Muth with the usage concerns
- I have 1-2% of fields and Russ and have no concerns about that falling off, not too interested in them unless I’m desperate for an upside qb3, then I may take Fields

Flournoy with another td. I'm just here to overreact!

Just signed up for my first ever ffpc ($350)

Draft is in an hour from the 4 slot, I think it’s probably still Breece or Bijan even though these rooms are possibly sharp-ish

Breece Hall all day imo.

Whoops nvm I got the 12th pick haha, didn’t realize how it worked

I said **** it and went Puka/Achane. Other choice was Laporta

First ever ffpc draft, how’d I do?

Ppr 12tm 1.5tep
My understanding is it’s week 1-12 managed h2h

1st place automatically goes to the final round
1st place pts auto goes
3-4 go to a week 13-14 playoffs to advance to the final round

Week 15-17 is cumulative pts sprint for $1MM first place

Qb - AR
Rb - Achane
Rb - Ford
Wr - Puka
Wr - Waddle
Te - Njoku
Flex - D Smith
Flex - Flowers
K - Gay
DST - Seahawks (play Denver w1 at home)

Bench rb - Dowdle, Allgeier, Eli Mitchell, Shipley
Bench wr - Ladd, Shaheed, McMillan, Tolbert
Bench te - Fant (I wasn’t sure if you’re supposed to grab 3 in tep, even though there’s a ww)
Bench qb - Tua (I figured AR has some risk and wanted a stacked safety blanket)

Not the worst thing since he's got rushing upside, but would've been nice if you could've got AD to go with AR.

He went like 30 picks ahead of ADP, otherwise I would’ve tried

I’m not great at evaluating TEP, but I think the team is fine. Njoku is nice - he’s basically end of a good tier. You have four solid WRs as starters - 3 of them have legit top 15 upside (I was higher on Smith earlier this summer but less so after all of the “Hurts still adjusting to new offense” nonsense…😉. And your bench RBs + WRs have good diversification of floor + upside. Nicely done.

Rank these WRs in ppr T. McLaughlin, C. Kirk, R. Rice

Thanks. That's where I had them ranked initially. But then I started overthinking it.
