2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

Nice correlation!

My man said, "Take your ADP and shove it!"

The Puppy 2 is live. Not quite what I predicted, although I hit the first place price. 168k entrants, $750k PP, $100k to first. I entered my first slow draft and got the 1.01. It's going to be a good contest! Haha

As far as other contests, I'll use BBM as the baseline. Advancing is 2/12, 1/13, 1/16, and then a 539 seat final. The finals min cash is $3,750, equal to breakeven for a max enterer.

The Puppy that just dropped is 2/12, 1/1

I have listened to most of those.

Regarding Levitan. When he opens the podcast with the long Heeeeellllow! it creeps me out. Also, when he ends the podcast with "For Herzig" "For Evan". It bugs me. What does that even mean? I do like the info though. I know I'm being petty but it feels good to get this out.

I like Liam Murphy.

I watch Splash Play but he can be a little whiney.

Regarding the Millie having a better week 15 and 16 advance structure. Are you saying one team out of the 12 advances to the next week? Doesn't that make it harder to advance instead of two teams advancing? It seems that if only one team is advancing during these weeks there would be less teams in the finals. Unless I am reading this wrong.

Regarding the new puppy. What do you mean by "not quite what I predicted"?

I clearly wasted 20 bucks on the Chiwawa.

Thanks again for the detailed reply.

No problem!

I do not like Splash Play. He's my least favorite and definitely very whiney. He leans into the bit, but I just don't think he's very sharp, so I rarely watch him.

Yeah, those mannerisms of Levitan don't help with his annoyance level.

Sorry, I was comparing the Milly advance rate path to the finals compared to BBM. The Milly is 2/12, 1/12, and 1/12 compared to BBM which is 2/12, 1/13, and 1/16. So your ev of making the Milly final is a little higher, but the Milly's final is 1,021 compared to BBM's final of 539. I prefer slightly tougher advancement in week 15 and 16 pods with a smaller final.

And for the new puppy not quite being what I predicted, when I first posted Hope's Tweet that it was coming today, I predicted $1 mil guaranteed, 222k entrants, and $100k to first. But it ended up being $750k guaranteed, 168k entrants, and $100k to first.

Excellent! Thanks

The puppy is 150 max. You think its gonna be filled in two weeks still?

I do. It's been live for an hour and a half and is already 1.6% filled. It probably won't even take 2 weeks.

It only takes 1,120 maxers to fill it.

My first puppy.

QB) Caleb, Stafford, D Watson

RB) Kyren, Warren, Charbonette, Ty Chandler, B Allen

WR) Puca, Deebo, Cooper, K Allen, Odunze, Watson, Dortch

TE) Njoku, Fant, Parkinson

I guess I'll do as many as I can. It's good practice anyway for when I start doing the Millie or BBM.

Not a huge fan of your rbs but I like the team overall as a whole . I think I’m out in Kyren until he starts dropping .

My RBs are definitely the weak spot of the team. I took Kyren late third which I think is reasonable and 3 spots past ADP. I won't be taking a big percentage of him this year. Warren, Charb and Ty give me stand alone value with some nice contingency value. I'll need to get lucky with one of these guys. B Allen is just an upside guy. One more solid guy would have made me feel better about this team.

I can see Kyren slipping into the 4th soon but late 3rd isn’t awful .

They gave me a ticket for the milly so I made another one. Just realized I have Singletary and Tracy. Not sure how I feel about that.

QB - Dak, Jayden

RB - Walker, Singletary, Brown, Tracy, Allen, Guerendo

WR - AJB, Waddle, Moore, Terry, JSN, Dotson, Mooney, Wilson, Tolbert

TE - Ferguson, Sinnot, Parham

It might not be bad to have both . You handcuffed yourself lol

I don’t mind hand cuffing myself where I think both backs will be decently involved. But I don’t do it often. I’ll mostly do it if the second guy is an ADP faller or if I’m really weak at RB and just want to lock up backfield points.

I.e Moss/Brown, Najee/Warren, Pollard/Spears, Zeke/Dowdle, etc.

I generally avoid it on the top guys like CMC, Bijan, Breece, etc. where their cuffs are mostly contingent value.

A little eagles stack.

Qb : Hurts , Daniels

Rb : Saquon , Connor , Robinson jr , Ray Davis , Pierce , Estime

Wr: Aj brown , Pittman , Ridley , Thomas jr , Mike Williams , Johnston , Roman Wilson , Mims , Pop Douglas , Beckham

Te: Kincaid , Freiermuth

I do have concerns that Corum ends up being the guy by the end of the year. A third round pick is pretty high. I just don't want to fade Williams completely. I'll have very little of him though.

I'm warming up to the idea that Najee and Pollard are gonna have big years. I think Zeke is gonna have a bigger role than some think as well. Because of this I'm currently not getting any of the back ups with the starters since the ADPs are so close. It feels to expensive to me. I'm not sure what to think of Moss and Brown just yet. I don't know that Warren and Spears have the every down upside the other guys have. Dowdle is just a Jag and they could add to this room.

I would pass on Daniels since you have Hurts and get another RB. Adding a Spears, Singletary, Zeke, or Chase Brown would look nice instead. Maybe pass on Freiermuth as well. The depth after Robinson is scary.

Its still a strong squad though.

For sure, I’m definitely not hunting it. But I can remember one specific example where I took Zeke at 126 and then Dowdle was there at 150.

If I take Najee or Warren in the late 7th/early 8th and the other wraps around to the late 9th, I’ll consider it.

But yeah, I wouldn’t want to take Najee or Warren late 7th, then the other early 8th.

Thoughts on taking Ford and Chubb together ?

Thoughts on taking Ford and Chubb together ?

Chubb is going way to high for me to take him at all now. The opportunity cost of missing out on other positions is too great. Usually at this time of year you hear that a player is ahead of schedule or looking good to be ready for training camp. There is none of that for Chubb. No timetable for his return. He had two surgeries the latest being in November. He's gonna be 29. There are just too many solid players still on the board when he is going. How effective will he be when he gets back? I just don't see the upside of taking him. He's a 100% fade for me right now.

I haven't gone RB/RB to start a draft yet but I did here. I'm of the opinion that if J Taylor falls to me in the second I'm taking him a lot. I see all of the available receivers as a tier below him. My TEs are gross. I went with a little upside with Likely to maybe have the chance to close the gap. It's not my favorite construction but it could work.

QB) Caleb, Herbert, Maye

RB) Breece, Taylor, Najee, Jaylen Wright, Ray Davis.

WR) DJ Moore, Tee Higgins, C Ridley, L McConkey, Sutton, Palmer, J Baker

TE) Kmet, Likely, Woods.

I’ve done it once or twice, but I’d rather just bet on one or the other. Chubb’s most recent ADP update on UD is 136.5, so he’s starting to fall to a good point.

Once he falls to around RB50 in the 13th/14th, I’ll start mixing him in more.

JT is a nice click in the 2nd, but the WR avalanche can swallow you. I plan to be around even with the market on JT.

I think it turned out well. Might have added another WR an instead of Maye, but Maye is perfectly fine there.

Hoping the Ravens make Likely closer to full-time rather than mostly a backup to Andrews. He’s their third best pass catcher.

Going RB/RB takes away flexibility for taking a stud QB or TE because you gotta start clicking WRs for the next 4 rounds. Those WRs are what's leftover from the first two rounds.

Likely can play. Thanks for sharing.

Really like this tm I just got. Finally got a JT and Diggs share too

dk milly

Qb - Burrow, Levis, Dimes

Rb - JT, Pollard, Javonte, Kendre, Dowdle, Tracy

Wr - Chase, Diggs, Kirk, Hollywood, Nuk, Mims, Slayton, Iosivas

Te - Engram, Schultz, Chig

Ppl were doing some weird **** in this one. Mahomes, Hurts, Lamar, and Stroud were all drafted by 2 tms back to back to back to back haha

Tlaw, Stroud, and Geno were all drafted naked too haha
