Why not wild cards?

Why not wild cards?

Why wouldn't rooms use wild cards?

They only work in really loose home games. No one would give much action without a wild card. Plus if you used jokers, they would be a target to be marked.

Pocket Jokers too strong.

Though maybe a 53 card deck with only 1 joker could be interesting. How would AA fair against deuce-joker? Id guess joker but no clue.

Not sure but I think it might be AA over joker-2. Joker-2 wins on paired runouts without an ace, trips, four of a suit runouts (chopping nearly half of these), flush draw boards of the same suit as the 2, four straight boards (other that KQJT, which chops) and straight draws including a 2 (like 346xx). AA wins most of the “dry” runouts. I haven’t calculated it, but I bet it’s at least close, and I wouldn’t be surprised if AA is ahead.

I feel like it would being back the psychology of the game with more bluffs... like in the golden days of the game.(Pokerboom) Now the game is to all un or fold with AK pre and has gotten robotic like.

Would probably be way too overpowered if applied to NLHE, but they can make other poker forms pretty interesting

In games where Jokers are used, they are only wild when they complete a straight or a flush; otherwise they are an Ace (with Five-of-a-Kind Aces beating a Royal).

High yes. Low they are the lowest unpaired card.

Two jokers are included in the deck, but they don't play whether they're community or hole cards. There will be boards with only 3 or 4 playable cards. However, if a player is dealt pocket jokers they automatically wins a stack from every player at the table up to whatever they're able to cover.

I'm just saying I don't think it's a bad idea... if they did have it at casinos I def. Think a table would get filled. I also think 7 card stud should come back because the game is way to stagnant. Changes like this would open up more popularity and make the game better overall. If you don't see it this way than I don't know what to say.

I think this is true in the short term, but once solvers figured out wildcards it would be worse. Losers would just lose faster.

It would be similar to 5 card Omaha versus 4 card. Just a way for the sharks to extract money faster. The fish would overplay their wildcards and go broke.

Naa I agree but your missing the point.. I'm 39 I've been around when the poker boom. You gotta do this to get more players in the game the more players you get in the game is THE POINT. also start 7 card stud again that not related but this is how it is stop trying to infuriate people
