Bodybuilding Classic Physique Division Offseason log

You know you who it is already. Can't recall my old password or even what email I used so here we are. I promised I'd start logging if legend n1h did. So that's why I'm logging.

Short term goal:
Successfully formulate a relatively optimized and easy to adhere to offseason diet model. In terms of food selection, I am more or less following Chris Tuttle's recommendations. Our very own BGP has been getting some free diet stuff from Chris since he has a full client load but will send a handful of emails to people for free if you ask nicely and want help. If you don't know who that is, go on youtube/instagram and see the man's work.

Remain injury free, which is easy with my new exercise selection which loco would describe as "leg press and lat pulldown 4 lyfe"

Adjust to a more strictly bodybuilding programming style as opposed to a "powerbuilding" style.


Here is the medium term goal:
2024 summer on stage in classic physique division at a level that would be competitive for winning a pro card. Winning the card itself is immaterial for the medium term, it'll happen when it happens and I will be patient.

Possible obstacles to this goal are gym closers due to continued zero covid policy, possibly moving countries and being unable to focus on prep in the interim, or international political disaster. All of which are legitimate risks.

Ostensibly we will start competition prep late winter 2024 and do a very long slow 20-24 week prep where I never need to bring carbs lower than 200g/day.

Long term goal:

Compete in one professional level show in the classic physique divison in the next 10 years. Don't really give a **** about placings.

Natty: No. Test, deca, mk677, humalog, cjc with 1295 with DAC, berberine (although the last one is both a PED and a general health supplement). Low doses. high dose AAS are massively overrated for hypertrophy, the real magic is the insulin and gh (or gh secretagogues in my case). less than 1g of injectables with PEDs that work on the IGF pathway is much better than 3g of injectables, for example. I'd advise anyone who wants to go down the PED route to incorpoate gh or gh secretagogue peptides along with insulin while they are still taking 1cc of test per week before you ever add any other AAS or increase test dose. You can keep your AAS doses much lower if you actually address this very critical muscle building pathway rather than solely relying on AAS, which are harsh... man...

No prep drugs or harsh AAS until the aforementioned 2024 late winter date.


Diet: High carbohydrates with carbohydrate cycling (2 high days the day before my 2 leg days, 1 low day on the day off, 4 medium days per week offseason), moderate protein around 1.125g/lb of bw, low to moderate fats. I tried a high fat Palbumo approach in both offseason and precontest this academic year. It was a ****ing disaster; this is a terrible way to diet for bodybuilding. Although if somebody is not trying to look lean/dry/hard on stage and maintain athletic performance in the gym, it'd be a great diet to follow because antecdotally it can lead to very high compliance for some individuals because it just destroys so much of your physiological cravings and lowers appetite considerably. Somebody like the apple-pied obese woman who's username I don't even remember might do well on this because she could probably eat 80/20 ground beef bunless bacon cheeseburgers twice a day for an emotional high, not feel hungry the rest of the day, and have only consumed like 1800~ calories daily.

Terrible workout. Basically I think I messed myself up with really poor sleep because of very high caffeine intake. Stimulants are delicate and fickle things that affect different people differently. Caffeine for me has much more side effects than clenbuterol, but to most its considered a far mildler stimulant. I wanted to start the first few weeks with caffeine+synephrine+yohimbine and add clen later. This is a bad choice. Clen just seems to work well for me with no real negative sleep effects. So dropped the caffeine and started clen at 10mcg/morning and yohimbine 10mg/morning no caffeine or synephrine. I'll add those two as I go along and get more fatigued/tired from dieting. Also my forearms are very inflamed/sore. I didn't think this whole no straps everything supinated thing was gonna be a free lunch. You always end up paying father time.

Pull
Unilateral plate loaded pulldonws: up to 120kgx16 but it hurt my elbow so stopped
Overhand strapped rows: 95kgx12, 9 felt good but my mind was kinda tired for a hardcore fatiguing lift like this
Row machine: 62.5kgx21, 16, 12 felt great, no pain
no curls, every variation hurt my forearm near the elbow

I'm gonna hit overhand rows or pullovers first for the next few workouts and then work back in the pronated pullups/pulldowns. You can get a lot done with just horizontal machine pulling+barbell rows thoso it's no worries.

Day 3 on clen at 20mcg (did 10 day 1) god damn I forgot how much I love this stuff. I think I like this for productivity/cognition the same way other people enjoy Adderall. The half life is really long so you kinda need to start it well before whatever task you're using it for comes up, but I think I'll probably take this stuff before every single exam season when I get boatloads of grading work to do.

I realized after a lot of reading and testing that my proximal bicep tendon issues are because of very poor internal rotation on the right side. Not external rotation bench press, internal rotation. I'm doing sleeper stretch and putting it behind my back to stretch. Any other suggestions welcome

I aint' turning this into another detailed lifeblog, but one thing I realized about dating in China is that girls aged 27-36 is the death zone. Younger than that and marriage or conforming to social expectations is the furthest thing from their mind and they evaluate men on simple criteria like "how much does he make my gina tingle, do I enjoy spending time with this person, are things that I would do alone anyway more fun with this person here?". Women older than that are already jaded and have given up on trying to fulfill social expectations and have similar criteria. Women in that range.. its all "what can this man do for me? I don't give a **** about any of that stupid romance ****, how much does he make, how much of a dowry can I extract, how will he affect my image and help me gain social status by having a husband who is XYZ". I'm finding most relationships with women around my age have been catastrophic failures due to rampant materialism and a feeling like I am becoming their house negro. I hate to use the word dehumanizing, but I feel like I'm a CV at a job interview and in their eyes I only exist in terms of how I can fulfill their goals and complete the image they are trying to project to the rest of the world rather than a fully realized human being with my own thoughts, ideas, goals, habits, and preferences. Just a robot for providing social status and financial support. But arguably the social status even more. But women either much older or much younger than me don't seem to treat me that way. Usually the older ones give less of a **** about outward image and have their material needs more well met and just want authentically enjoyable companionship. Sometimes they even make a ****ton more money than me which is a bonus.

He's an aspie graduate student studying mate choice for his PhD in psychology and makes videos distilling down research in the field into terms us normies can understand. Perhaps because his videos communicate ideas very contradictory to the red pill, his audience is 90%+ female.

So much of it falls apart when you realize the very simple fact that selecting for behavioural traits is also selecting for good genetics. Behaviour and personality are also largely heritable just like physical traits are. This meme of marry the lawyer bang the pool boy is exactly that; some bizarre porn fantasy that doesn't reflect reality at all. Fresh and Fit f'kn lmao biggest clowns ever.

sick yesterday. Still sick. Gonna train because I feel okay like maybe 6/10. I'll give it a 5/10 SRPE no cardio.


worked out yesterday. I was super weak. Still quite sick even though i started getting symptoms Tuesday and it's already saturday. Skipped cardio but did 1hr posing and 90 minutes brisk walk so its probably about equivalent or more expenditure than my normal hour of stairs.

I did one productive thing and discovered how awesome the high unilateral cable curl is. Basically I need something bicep peak isolating to take my forearms out or they get overworked really quick, esp without straps.

BB rows overhand strapped: 90kgx10x2
Pullups: bwx8x2, Ring chins: bwx10 I'll stick with rings for the next few workouts

The cable apparatus is one of these very strange ones without a weight stack where you choose the resistance on a digital panel. The cables are in a weird position that makes them unusable for most conventional cable lifts, but very usable for high cable curls.

I can definitely do the facing away cable curls still but I can't do the huge stretch; that's what seems to irritate my bicep tendon.

I'd like to hit legs today but I'm still hacking up a lung. We've all gotten sick like crazy this academic year, students and staff. Immune system deficiency from 3 years of zero covid policy, obv. I'm just glad its at the beginning of the contest prep rather than the middle or end.

Still only on 20mcg clen and fat melting off. Already down to 94.5kg morning weight and quad veins are coming out. Not much hunger, still eating around 3600 cals/day, activity high, energy high, digestion feels good. I'm leaner than when i left for vacation already, and by a fairly big amount. I hate fixating on scale weight but let's see if the glutes are striated around 85kg. It could be as early as 87kg.

I took it very easy and slow session rpe around 4. I got up around 5:30 this morning and didn't train until 7:30 so I was pretty gassed. I had a long day because I interviewed for a new job and actually got an offer same day. It was the second interview. I can't make my normal long winded posts, but basically it's a new SAR that's getting started up called Hengqin. It's a manmade island about a ~10 minute drive into Macau. No formal border with Macau, but a formal border with mainland China. They don't have their own currency and RMB/MCD/HKD are all accepted. It will have much less freedom than HK/Macau, but has its own government and lower taxes than mainland. The rules and how it fits in with Macau vs Mainland China is still being settled as far as I can tell. It's pretty exiciting!

I woke up at 93.5 but obviously probably lost some weight from illness and mgiht end up being back up a bit later in the week. I will up the clen to 40mcg as soon as this infection is fully gone, which might be as late as Saturday/Sunday. Getting down to 85 with shredded glutes by July 16 should be easy. But I'm going to diet based on the look rather than the scale... goal is to get shredded enough to have lines in the glutes while flexing. If that happens at either a heavy or a lighter bodyweight, fine with me!

What I'm going to do differently this time compared to the other times I got super lean is to come back up VERY VERY SLOWLY. Allow myself to gain around 1.5kg a week the first 2 weeks (not counting any weight I lose from drying out with vodka or hydrochlorothyazie, but after that limit myself to 0.5kg gain per weight and slowly taper off the clenbuterol over the course of ~6-8 weeks post show.

My daily steps are around 15k rn but I need to keep them around 10-12k when in offseason with additional cardio as needed to make sure the weight is coming up slowly. I was bad about this on vacation because it was more like a 5 week diet break and I just wanted a mental break from all of it. But this summer coming out of the show, no excuses! Not a diet break, still "on the diet" just precisely controlling and limiting the weight gain to keep body composition optimized to build muscle.


I didn't sign a contract with the first place yet and had an interview with a different school today. It's actually one for foreign passport holders, but 60% of the kids are just rich Chinese who purchased citizenship abroad in some form another, 20% are HK/Macau/Taiwan, and the remaining are "actually foreign". It seems like a slightly worse place to work, but better paid, a WAY better area to live, and the campus is 4.1km from my cousin's apartment. Obviously I prefer the second one over the first but now I'm not sure how to handle this situation. The interview with the headmaster went exceptionally well, but I need to interview with another economics teacher and HR lady next. I feel there are two options:

1. Sign with the first school and just drop out if/when I get an offer with the 2nd school. Duplicitous but covers my ass fully.

2. Tell the first school I need time to discuss with my cousin since it's a big decision for us and I'd clearly prefer to live near family, wait until I get an offer from the second school, sign, and never sign anything with the first school.

2.5 Just sign with the first school since I very explicitly expressed that I wanted to go there and I don't feel like jerking them around.


Leaning toward option 2, but it may be impossible because the HR at the 2nd school is painfully slow and inefficient. I wish they would have just interviewed me when I applied in December, given me an offer before the holiday, and I'd have been all prepped and ready to roll. This is way more annoying than the dating market tbh.

I'm forced to live on the campus in the first school but I have freedom to live off campus for the 2nd. As a single guy who not-by-intention ends up dating a whole lot of different women, I'm not sure how I feel about bringing girls "home" through a school security gate into a teacher's apartment. The teacher's apartments are really nice and luxurious, but man... you bringing a girl into a school dawg its weird.

Another wrench in this is that the first one is a big international brand with campuses everywhere, but the second one is in China and UK only and isn't as well recognized. It won't be as helpful on my resume if I want to eventually work in Thailand or something, for instance. Either school will make it easy to work in the UK, but UK is more third world than most parts of China that would have international schools at this point I don't wanna get stabbed by 92 Iq immigrants plz.

I had a really excellent day of training and eating. I think I've had exactly 1 cheat meal which was an italian sub in the ~3.5 weeks I've been back in China. As I've moved away from chicken breast and toward more steak and beef stew and increased the % of my carbohydrates coming from fruit sources, my urge to eat off diet foods has basically gone to nothing. I typically have 45g of gummy worms pre training and a 36g carb gatorade durign training every day, but I could easily replace those with 2 bananas if weight loss starts stalling. My baseline stepcount on my normal workdays when I go to the gym is 12k and the past few days I've been "interim principal" while ours is gone at a conference so it's been more like 18k b/c I still have my normal teaching load. It does make me feel very strange that I'm recognized as "2nd in command" in any professional setting now, but I guess I've gotten pretty good at this job and other people have recognized it. Like I said earlier, I'm in no rush to make the jump to full on principal, but within the next 2-7 years I think is a good timeframe. I'm hoping my next job will have some of those admin duties that I already do now but don't get paid extra for or have a title for. I ain't mad as it's been a very good learning experience.

Ring pullups: bwx12, 9, 8 first set had some forearm soreness/pain, so I strapped up and went with a thumbless grip which reduced it significantly.

Cardio was 30 minutes AM steps 18k bw in the morning 93kg. Not hungry or feeling depleted... I was originally planning to implement refeeds, but man idk I think that might be just kinda FPS. Feels like I can just eat red meat, potatoes, sweet potatos, green beans, green apples, banana, oats, skim milk, and frozen blueberries and just kinda coast around 3200-3600 calories with high activity levels and 5.5 training days and basically get in contest shape just sticking to that. My stimulants and fat burners are super low right now so I have a lot of space to edge those up.

I see other people's logs on bodybuilding sites around my size getting down to 2100-2500 calories, but I probably just straight up never need to do that because those people live in western countries and work at desk jobs driving their cars everywhere and getting 5k steps per day.

I have a desk job, drive to work (when I'm not working from home), and average right below 7k steps/day. I'm heavier than you and would undoubtedly gain weight if I averaged 3200 - 3600 calories a day. Those extra steps (and probably clen) make a big difference.


Tryna do low carb days on non training days but knowing me I'll probably just keep doing very intuitive style eating just kinda eating whatever I feel like from "approved foods" list tryna hit around 3000-3600 cals. Today did 30 minutes cardio on stairs, about 1 hr 50 minutes bicycling outdoors at a slowish pace, 11k steps

Meal 1
5 eggs, 85g steak

Meal 2
300g steak, green beans

Meal 3
300g steak, green apple

Meal 4
300g steak, green apple

Meal 5
35g oats, skim milk, 1 scoop whey, green apple.

Tomorrow going to make chicken breasts and eat more carbs from oats+sweet potato.


I will keep dieting until mid/late june and reversing slowly, but I already decided I'm not doing this show. Trenbolone already giving me negative sleep effects and I'm dreading the idea of peaking with orals and nuking my estrogen for maximum dryness. there's not much on the line for this contest, so just get shredded to set up for a bulk but stay on a more safe/easy to tolerate offseason cycle.


Killing the workouts and diet lately even though I'm decidedly not killing it on the sleep lately. Going to try out test+trestolone combo. Hearing good things about microdose trestolone from my American bodybuilder friend (same one who stayed with that polish coach when I dropped him). He's running it at just 0.75cc/wk and says it feels as powerful as 300mg tren ace/wk but a lot more watery/estro sides and no insomnia/aggression/irritability/sky high libido side effects.

Instant Pot brand air fryer... I think it's called Vortex 6... it's a ****ing game changer jfc I make virtually everything in there except my steaks which gotta go in the case iron. I know some people do a sear using low heat air fryer followed by 90 seconds per side I gotta try that out.

I'm going to make a "protein cake" of some sorts with egg whites, oats, banana (or apple), cinnamon, and truvia in the blender then bake it in the oven and have that for breakfast in the morning, maybe adding almond butter/honey/blueberries as calories allow. I think I've been missing out by not having enough oats in my diet the past week or so. I'm always tryna figure out convenience foods that can replace whey and have good macros/satiety for the bodybuild.
