Trooper97 vlogs, discussions etc. will be allowed to continue in the new thread. That thread will not be unchained and I will work with the other LVL mods to keep it civil.

I personally am not going to allow a lot of the horrible posting that went on in the original thread to take place and I will be very generous with post deletions and bans if needed.

Posts the are overly derogatory, mean spirited, name calling (including using rude derivatives of names) , and demeaning posts towards any of the vloggers or posters in the thread will be deleted at the mods discretion. If any accounts persistently do this they will be banned or exiled from posting in this thread. In these cases we may issue a warning first.

Accounts that are used only to or substantially to troll post in this thread will be banned.

No personal family information or situations allowed in the thread.

Diesel is the first poker player ever to size bets to not pass the rake threshold where they take another $1.

He absolutely wouldn't be. I used to be very good at this when I played a lot. And I knew others who were doing it as well.

This is not the brag you think it is. And the fact you knew others points to poor game selection as well. Also might be correlated to not making it in Vegas as a player.

by prev P

I guarantee Diesel is gonna make a scene one day when a dealer takes $4 rake out of a $39 pot.

I'm sure it has happened more than a few times already

We will agree to disagree

If sizing your bet $1-$2 smaller than is optimal...then you aren't thinking.

Pot is $20. If I would normally bet half pot of $10 and get called making the pot $40, there really is no difference to bet $9. That extra $1 gets raked. I am still making $9 on the $10 bet.

Im done with this topic. Let's get it back to Rice and the other vloggers.

Once again, if you are using brain power to save a dollar or two in rake in a hand vs maximizing your win rate, I'm not surprised you didn't make it as a player.

And in your example, since you would win the same amount if you bet $10 or $9, why wouldn't you bet the larger amount which would lead to a bigger pot and allow for a larger bet on future streets? But congrats on gaming the rake system I guess.

Who said I didn't make it as a player? I have been a profitable player since I started playing in 2010. I haven't had a losing year.

As for brain power I have plenty.

Primary goal is to win the pot. Right? Whether its a bluff, value bet or other. The fact you are factoring in a dollar increase in rake as part of your bet sizing is a massive leak in your game.

Well I play in Texas now so there is no rake so this was from 7 or so years ago.

Also, how can $1 be a massive leak? As I said that $1 is going to the house in a raked game so there really is no difference.

For those of you who don't get this I would suggest you dont have enough mental ability to understand.

Didn’t you have a thread here talking about failing in poker, having a max BR of 3k and having to quit trying and moving in order to deal?

Not having a losing year isn’t a brag, it’s only a brag for donks and low stakes fish who don’t understand how poker works

You should make a vlog and explain how poker works like Rice did with take today

It's exactly the sort of thing that Rice would brag about, while still living well below the poverty line.

Rice would also be the sort to brag about "beating" the rake system by carefully constructing his bets so as to save a dollar in every pot he plays.

Stop trying to save $1. Just win the pot with a bet size that will get the job done. Its one of many reasons why playing 1-3 for a living as a pro is a waste of time. Work a job until you have a 2-5+ bankroll and study in your free time.

You're underestimating the immense pleasure that people like Nomad get from thinking they have outsmarted the system.

The warm smug feeling he gets from saving that $1 in rake more than makes up for the fact that he actually won a smaller pot overall.

the OP is in his 60s and peaked at a 3k bankroll which he described as decent, he also seems to not be able to work fulltime due to health and mental issues.

no disrespect to him but he's never getting to 2/5.

I am neither trying to get to 2/5 or want to. I am not trying to play full time. I play when I enjoy it. I play to help get a game going where I work. I play for a little income.

I never peaked at a $3k bankroll. I had that as a bankroll after working one summer in LV. And I was still looking for a job at that time. I have a thread y'all can roast me in but let's stop doing it here.

I had a much larger bankroll when I first started playing professionally. Since 2017 my goal has never been to play poker professionally.

Bally's used to be one of the softest games in town. I played at Caesars almost exclusively during the WSOP in 2017 and probably put in 300 hours that summer. I easily made $30+ an hour there.

I really think Bally's - you may call it Horseshoe - has been hurt instead of helped by the closure of PH, Flamingo and Harrahs. There were a lot of nits at those places but they were spread out. Now they all play at one place. Plus there was somethin

im gonna have to call yoy out on this one, no chance you easily made $30 an hour over 300 hours and yet also max out at a 3k bankroll and call it decent.

Show us your graphs please.

Every broke poker player I know always says stuff like this but somehow is always broke and then when you push further you realize they don't even track their results properly and are posting what they believe their win rate is based on nothing but a few heater sessions omitting most of their bad sessions.

Again I didn't say I maxed out at $3k bankroll that summer. Jesus you like to pick and choose what you remember. Learn to comprehend the whole thing.

I'm starting to think your story of being scammed of 80k is similar to bikeking's story of his bank account hack. Not that I don't believe you didn't lend out money, but it's just unlikely you ever had 80k to lend out to begin with.

Again, if you say you easily made $30/ hour over 300 hours, why did u always end up broke in every thread you started? Why do you only include heater sessions in your results and not the results from your downswings?

You also literally said that in your own thread that you peaked at a 3k bankroll.

I had $3k after the summer of 2018

The $80k was over probably six years

I really don't care what you believe

I am just a casual player who deals now

yeah let's quit beating the dead horse on something that doesn't really matter.

I agree that worrying about whether $6 or $7 comes out is a dumb waste. but it's not worth bullying a fellow commenter about.
