Low content alert they counted my streak

I usually start the first 4/8 table with some regs early on Sundays, today I show up and there is a overnight game still going with some of the degen regs.

4 of the players leave for a new 1/2 table and I get a seat.

I open a couple of hands and the degens start making fun of me for raising as I lose the first couple.

Then they start counting as my open-losing streak continues. And continues.

We counted up to 17 in a row. On the 18th I open UTG with AA and everyone folds. Lol.

I did not win today. Feels bad.

Laugh at yourself with them as long as you can manage. When you can't, it's time to go home regardless of the results.

There's lots and lots of losing in this game. The more you can shift from "did I win?" to "did I play well?" the longer you will keep what can be a profitable hobby.

Great advice, I did go along with it and I was playing decently well, not tilted. Down almost 4 racks after the 17th loss, won back a tough 1.5 racks before I called it a day.

This, and they're trying to shame you into limping. Don't let them shame you.

By definition, when you're playing well you are doing things differently than the bad players. And the bad players, being bad, will think you are a fool for it.

I just had a session where for a good 2 hours if not 3 there were 5 to 8 people seeing every flop. A preflop raise didn't cut down the preflop action at all - if they wanted to see the flop they saw the flop. Once I raised and got a family pot. It turned into a game of, "Let's see how hard we can hit EVERYONE ELSE'S hand when DalTXColtsFan raises."

Buckle up and hope you run good baby

If you're saying you raised 17 hands on a row, either you were getting the best run of preflop premium hands in the history of poker or you were playing horribly.

No sir, I am saying over several hours every hand I raised(17) I lost. I won a few hands where I did not raise, mostly trash blind hands that hit, but also a couple limp along-type hands.

Huh, I thought that was a slight possibility to be what you meant, but I couldn't imagine players remembering to count those if they were sporadic.

After about 6 or 7 I would announce 'lets got for x in a row' as I cut out my raise or they would say' How many is that, x?"

Oh, then your thread title is wrong. You were counting, not them. Still funny though.

yeah I guess it should be 'we counted' instead of 'they'
