Cool article, thanks for posting

I did not think the article was good. The book sounds like it might be.

Nate Silver has just published The Power of Thinking Like a Poker Player. Here's The New Yorker's review.

“The Power of Thinking Like a Poker Player” is just the headline of this review article.
Silver’s book is titled “On the Edge” (for anyone who wanted to search for it on Amazon or whatever).

The book itself has a good deal of poker content, but it’s written for a general audience, so most of the poker stuff will be very familiar to people on this board. For example, it has -a lot- about the Robbi Jade Lew “controversy”.

Was that hand controversial? If so I'm unaware, seemed like a standard bluff catching line, if you are as good at reading relative strength as Robbi was.

Does this book cover the "powers" of borrowing large sums of money from people never paying them back. The powers of a weasle to snatch every last penny from any unsuspecting gulliable person. Or the simps that treat degens as upstanding people? What wonderous thoughts will I learn? I think its better to just stick with a chart that says jam A5 off preflop for maxxx edge. Thoughts are overrated, even if POWERFUL.

Her giving the pot to him remains the single most insane thing in gambling history aside from Archie’s run.

Yes, it does, I can confirm this as true as I have thought about this independently.
