WSOP ME Day1 - A few spots

WSOP ME Day1 - A few spots

Hand 1
Early on level 2. Villain is in his late 70s and seems to be on the more passive side. Has played the main event a number of times.

We both have close to a starting stack

200/300/300
Preflop: Hero has K K in MP
Folds to us, we raise to 800, BB defends

Flop: 5 4 2
Villain checks, hero bets 900, Villain calls

Turn: 6
Villain checks, Hero bets 2.3K, Villain calls

River: 9
Villain checks, Hero? Are we bluffing this river? There is a chance that we might be good

Hand 2:
Villain is from Korea. Young player, first time playing the Main Event. Seems a bit laggy preflop and a bit tag postflop. He just a large tournament score of ~$200K
Hero 80K
Villain 55K

300/600/600
Preflop: Hero has 9 8 OTB
Villain raises to 1.5K in MP, 3 folds, Hero calls OTB, blinds fold

Flop: A 2 3
MP checks, Hero bets 1.5K, Villain calls

Turn: T
Mp checks, hero bets 3.7K, MP calls,

River: T
Villain donks 6K, hero? (I am forsure going to be calling here, but I wasn't sure if I should be raising or if raising here is spewy)

Hand 3
300/600
Hero 88k
Villain 65K
Villain seems to be more straight forward. Bets small a bluff and big for value. The other players are making jokes about how he was very aggressive during level 1 but has since cooled off. He is a young recreational player with a successful business.

Preflop: Hero has J J in MP
We raise to 1.5K, Villain OTB raises to 3.6K, folds back to hero and we raise to 10K

Hand 1 - just checking back river. Maybe you could fold 3x but think he has a ton of diamond/worse hands.

Hand 2 - just call

Hand 3 - I guess you 4b here cause he 3b small meaning he's light? If anything you want him to continue with his hand not get him to fold so I'd call the 3b. Really the only reason to 4b here is if he will light 5b otherwise calling is much better.

Hand 1 I just check back. Villain is likely to call with a diamond and fold without one. In theory Villain could have a straight and fold to a bet but Villain might call anyway.

Hand 2 I just call. Unlikely we get called if we raise unless we are behind.

Hand 3 no description of Villain. If he is Young and/or has been 3 betting a bit then I like the 4-bet. If he is older and/or hasn't been 3-betting I prefer a call to see the flop.

#2 call
#3 call, 4b too high variance

Hand 1 not sure

Potential folds include sets, 2pr, 3x, even smaller flushes, so the incentive is there.

But what part of your range is barrelling three streets for value? 9d removes 7 flush combos A9dd-98dd from your value range. Most Adx check back turn.

I think we get looked up here a lot, so if you’re going to pull the trigger go super large sizing. With 67 68 in range I prob just check back.
