ex-President Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:
a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?
b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

He never told those people or anyone else to storm the capitol
I don't know what laws were broken, all I know was that they committed treason.
Oh, but these other guys, we know what laws they broke, but they didn't commit treason, because they never could have gotten away with it.
You're sure about that? The same supreme court which today is stalling on Trump's ridiculous immunity claim to help him get reelected?
They likely would have said they don't have jurisdiction over something the congress does. And even if they did decide against Trump, how many troops do they control?
He didn't use the word "storm", but he told them to go there. I'm pretty sure they did exactly what he expected them to do. If he actually thought 100% of them would just peacefully demonstrate outside the Capitol, then he has even less intelligence than I generally give him credit for.
Does it look like Trump ever controlled any troops?
Remind me again how many times Congress was stormed and the certification of the elections was jeopardized in the couple hundred years america has existed before trump was president
I mean don’t, we both know the answer, you’ll just be intellectually dishonest about it thinking you got one over while really just showing your whole ass for all to see
Pg 106-116 of the document I linked to earlier explicitly lays out all the evidence for Trump's participation in the insurrection, including inciting it. It's pretty disingenuous to say he didn't tell them to storm the Capitol. Even if he didn't use those words, he very much did. And again, this has been ruled on in multiple courts, unchallenged.
I gave StoppedRainingMen some time off for being abusive, not because I agreed with this ridiculous attempt to equate the group status of supporting Trump with the group status of living in Ghana or whatever.
Um yes, the entire US armed forces.
I thought you actually seemed to know a lot about the US constitution, but I guess you forgot the part about the Commander In Chief.
Another mostly peaceful group of cultural conservatives wasn't too happy with the Election of 1860.
pssst, you guys are still letting some rando italian dude, literally in italy, troll the ever loving **** out of you about US politics and LOL orange dude.
Right.....everyone but whoever you're talking about is actually putting work into their posts.
lol it can be fun
Say what you will about his kamikaze style but he's not wrong. See you in a few days srm.
Free SRM!
I know I'm often a disaster in here with my anger and despair over things, making outrageous statements.
I hope it's apparent that it's intended for the extremists of any creed.
It has nothing to do with tolerant, moderate people of all backgrounds that do not seek to impose a radical belief-system on others.
So Trump didn't use words to tell them to storm the capitol but he did tell them to storm the capitol. Lol. That's some twisted logic even for you.
What did he use? Telepathy.
I'm surprised that using different words to say the same thing is a foreign concept to you, as I'm sure you have been called a lying POS scumbag troll in every way imaginable before.
The end of trump speech

And we fight. We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore.
Our exciting adventures and boldest endeavors have not yet begun. My fellow Americans, for our movement, for our children, and for our beloved country.
And I say this despite all that's happened. The best is yet to come.
So we're going to, we're going to walk down Pennsylvania Avenue. I love Pennsylvania Avenue. And we're going to the Capitol, and we're going to try and give.
The Democrats are hopeless — they never vote for anything. Not even one vote. But we're going to try and give our Republicans, the weak ones because the strong ones don't need any of our help. We're going to try and give them the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.
So let's walk down Pennsylvania Avenue.
I want to thank you all. God bless you and God Bless America.
Thank you all for being here. This is incredible. Thank you very much. Thank you.
Knowing the kind of crazies u had that day in the crowd.
Doesn’t take much to inflame the situation and it’s exactly what happened and the non reaction of trump that day for hours was very telling afterwards before he ask people to go back home .

WASHINGTON, July 21 (Reuters) - Donald Trump sat for hours watching the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol unfold on live TV, ignoring pleas by his children and other close advisers to urge his supporters to stop the violence, witnesses told a congressional hearing on Thursday.
The House of Representatives Select Committee used its eighth hearing this summer to detail what members said was Trump's refusal to act for the 187 minutes between the end of his inflammatory speech at a rally urging supporters to march on the Capitol, and the release of a video telling them to go home.
The onslaught on the Capitol, as Vice President Mike Pence met with lawmakers, led to several deaths, injured more than 140 police officers and delayed certification of Democratic President Joe Biden's victory in the November 2020 election.
Dude, he told them to go to the Capitol and "give them" something, after telling them they needed to fight.
He knew the doors wouldn't be open for them, and he is on record having said that he knew many of them were armed.
What do you think he expected them to do?
I will be amazed if you answer this question, but if you don't, you're showing you know that he expected and intended violence to happen.
He sent his own people to kill Congress people and the VP or get shot themselves as martyrs for the cause.
I didn't say he didn't use words, I said he didn't use those words. Nevertheless, you can find the answers you seek on p 106-116.
I don't need to seek any answers. I know what he said and what he didn't say. And I know he didn't tell them to invade the capitol either directly or indirectly.
Just because some TDS infected kangaroo court in Colorado convicted him of insurrection doesn't mean diddly squat. It was a scam to get him barred from the ballot which then backfired when SCOTUS threw it out.
Lol
I figured you couldn't answer a direct question.
Of course you don't. If you stick your fingers in your ears and yell lalalala you'll never have to face reality. I understand why that feels safe for you.
Multiple courts, including the Colorado supreme Court. And this decision is unchallenged. It was also not a conviction.
Weird, why would that group of Republicans that brought the lawsuit want to do that?
Scam? Republicans almost successfully used an antiquated provision of the Constitution to deal with an issue we have not encountered since the civil war. All that scotus said was the Congress, not the state, had the right to enforce this old law.
