ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Cohen has no credibility

The whole case is based on a phone call that was proved he lied about

Who told you the whole case hinged on that?

OMG ... a new kind of narcissism is coined re 45 and his genus: the phallic narcissist. And it's kind of serious, posed by psychologist and narcissism expert Sam Vaknin, in one of his god-like delineations of the field. That's too rich.

Nails it...

Wilhelm Reich first identified the phallic narcissistic personality type, with excessively inflated self-image. The individual is elitist, a "social climber", admiration seeking, self-promoting, bragging and empowered by social success.[1]

According to Otto Fenichel, 'Phallic characters are persons whose behavior is reckless, resolute and self-assured - traits, however, that have a reactive character: they reflect a fixation at the phallic level, with overvaluation of the penis and confusion of the penis with the whole body'.[2] Fenichel stressed that 'an intense vanity and sensitiveness reveals that these narcissistic patients still have their narcissistic needs...for which they overcompensate'.[3]

Others would add that 'the phallic character conceives of sexual behaviour as a display of potency, in contrast to the genital character, who conceives of it as participation in a relationship'

So since Cohen admitted he stole from the Trump organization can they charge him still?

by lozen P

So since Cohen admitted he stole from the Trump organization can they charge him still?

not 100% sure but that admission might have happened a while ago when Cohen plead guilty to a bunch of stuff, did some jail and so on, he might already have gone through that

“Industrial strength significantly increased ... driven by the creation of a unified Reich.”

the video asserts that Mr. Trump would deport 15 million migrants in a second term

spent recent months echoing Hitler while lashing out at immigrants, complaining that
immigration is “poisoning the blood of our country” and describing migrants as “vermin.”

continues to raise the prospect of building new detention camps

he is telling America exactly what he intends to do if
he regains power: rule as a dictator over a ‘unified reich,’

“Parroting ‘Mein Kampf’ while you warn of a bloodbath if you lose.

From the thread itself, the "unified reich" thing was from ww1

Trump Posts, Then Takes Down, Video Online With Headlines About a ‘Unified Reich’
The 30-second video shared from Donald Trump’s Truth Social account includes World War I-era newspaper clippings alongside fictional headlines presuming a Trump victory in November.

Is the fact that trump refuses to speak in his own defence something that the prosecution can bring up in closing arguments?

It's hard to believe that he wouldn't have taken the 5th there if he had not already been granted immunity for that somewhere along the trail.

No the prosecutor cannot comment on his lack of testifying.

Could be wrong but from what i read, Cohen had actually promised to testify against Trump if/when it was time to do so, as part of his plea bargain when he pleaded guilty.

There are about four dozen prisons in New York.

Can we start picking our Bingo squares of where Trump is going to end up? This thread and this post time stamps me for picking,

Five Points Correctional Facility

I'll take "none of them."

by biggerboat P

I'll take "none of them."

Yeah. Even house arrest seems unlikely.

That can be the center square on the Bingo board.

^^^ Sorry buddy, biggerboat beat you to that square, unless "house arrest" are different squares depending on which residence you pick.

What is he defending? What crime was committed?

According to the many legal scholars across the country, there was absolutely no crime committed. It's perfectly legal for President Trump to list an NDA payment as a legal expense. So please enlighten me, what crime was proven to be committed here?

What you should instead be concerned with is the fact that the justice system has been weaponized against the political opponent of the current administration but people like yourself who only care about "getting rid of Trump" don't even care how they do it, as long as they do it. If it was the other way around and President Trump's administration was doing this to the democrats running against him, I'm sure you would be outraged. That's a hypocrite.

It might interest you to learn that when a criminal case is brought to trial, the prosecution lays out the crimes that they allege to have been committed in a charging document, usually an indictment. You seem to have enviable skills of searching out information on top secret conspiracies, so it shouldn't be particularly difficult for you to locate a document that has been published to the general public.

lol they asked Trump if he supports restrictions on contraception and he said they are looking into it and will release a policy soon. The guys not even passing the Turing Test anymore.

The charges were manufactured. Hillary Clinton used bleach to erase phones and computers to hide evidence of treason, but her cohorts said "no reasonable prosecutor would ever think to file charges" and it was swept under the rug. When byden was VP he took classified docs and put them in an unsecure place in his garage. The independent investigator (I think he was a republican, an asian guy named Hu or something like that) was paid off to again brush it under the rug and NOT file charges because "he's just a forgetful old man" (they have it all. Phone calls, texts, and money exchanges. Space force has some excellent surveillance equipment). However, President Trump paying someone claiming she had an affair with him to keep quiet and having her sign a NDA is not illegal and entering it under "legal expense" is not illegal either. When you have an attorney draw up docs to pay this lady, what is that called then a transportation expense?

At least most people get it. President Trump drew 100K people last weekend on the Jersey shore. Byden coudn't even fill 5 circles when he was in his prime, but he won the election. If 2020 was a poker hand 5 people would be standing up saying it's collusion.

2020 was rigged I agree

So was 2016

You agree with that right?
