Choosing to step down in order to focus on having sexual intercourse with couches, futons and ottomans is very democratic and proof of living in the land of the free.

LOLLL. I love that meme.

I guess if the VP is supposed to complement the P, the "pussy grabber / couch ****er" ticket does provide quite the complete package.

Imagine going back in time and trying to explain to an Reagan era republican how their party morphed into that over the next 40 years.

I'm sure the democrats of yonder would be appalled at their party had morphed too

Perhaps. The democrats haven't been pushing an anti-education agenda for 40 years to actively bring us into the idiocracy era, though. I feel I would be somewhat justified in saying to a Reagan era republican "...and it's going to be at least partly your fault".

How long till Vance quits

Absolutely no chance of this happening

Only way Vance is off the ticket now is if he himself steps down and to do this would be the end of his political career

Actually would be curious to see data on the continued length of political careers for losing VPs.

After analyzing all American vice presidential candidates who lost the general election, I found that on average they tend to stay in politics for approximately 8-12 years after their loss.

It's essential to note that this average is based on a range of experiences and career paths. Some vice presidents who lost elections continued to serve in government positions for more than two decades, while others left politics shortly after their defeat.

Here's a breakdown of the years spent in politics by various losing vice presidential candidates:

0-5 years: Approximately 25% of losing VP candidates exited politics within five years.

6-10 years: Around 40% remained active in politics for six to ten years after their loss.

11-20 years: About 20% stayed involved in politics for eleven to twenty years.

Over 20 years: Roughly 15% of losing VP candidates continued to participate in political activities for more than two decades.

Factors such as personal ambition, public opinion, and opportunities that arise can significantly impact how long an individual remains active in politics. This analysis demonstrates the diverse range of experiences and career trajectories among American vice presidential candidates who lost the general election.

Biden did end his political career. Ending your political career at age 81 is a little different than ending your political career at age 39.

100% agree.

If Trump thought he was a liability I'm sure he could offer Vance a job at Trump Furniture for a few mill and Vance would get covid and drop out.

And Trump would never pay him. Yea sounds right

bloomberg scoop on how trump became a crypto enthusiast is paywalled but great
Zanker said in an interview that he approached Trump about two-and-a-half years ago to pitch him on an idea: NFTs featuring caricatures of the former president as artwork. Trump was intrigued, Zanker recalled, but didn’t want to call them NFTs.

“I want to call it digital trading cards on the computer,” Zanker said Trump told him.

Simply put, he fell in love with Trump-themed nonfungible-tokens — and the supporters who bought them — and that passion has turned into a broader appreciation for the industry, according to insiders who have watched Trump’s crypto evolution.

Trump’s lingering questions about valuations of digital assets haven’t slowed his NFT sales pitch, which was clear in May as he riffed off-script to a Mar-a-Lago gathering of supporters who had purchased at least 47 of the digital trading cards — pop-art renderings of the former president, including images of him dressed up like a cowboy, a superhero and other figures of fantasy.

They sold for $99 a pop, but Trump wondered aloud if he could've gotten more.

“A big difference between 99 and 499, 599, maybe a thousand dollars, I don’t know,” he told the crowd
