Packing the same venue that Trump couldn't fill up a few weeks ago, then knocking that speech out of the park has to scare the s out of the Trump camp.
This was an excellent pick. Shaprio is arguably better on paper for her election chances, but's he's a bleh moderate with half the charisma of Walz on his best day. And good luck trying to paint Walz as some American-hating Antifa liberal extremist who wants to make your children gay and is out of touch with real people.
That said I think he'll be about as effective as your typical VP pick in moving the overall needle--not much. But then again I don't think he's particularly likely to make himself a liability either (see: Palin, Sarah). Whereas, JD Vance without a doubt carries some risk of that.

Vance was a horrible pick though. Granted it's tough to find all that many ticket-ready Republicans who didn't at some point bash Trump, but he deserves the "weird" tag he's getting. Pence I understood fine but I'm not clear on what JDV is supposed to bring that they didn't already have

This election seems to be the anthesis to that. Dems are putting up ‘whoever the **** isn’t trump or biden’ so the running mate is critical and I think they knocked it out of the park with walz who is clearly a charismatic guy with flyover appeal which is exactly what the Dems need with the top of the ticket being someone thrust into the ‘not joe biden’ slot and is pretty uncharismatic
Besides that, RFK isn’t going anywhere and is apparently in line to be trump’s HHS Secretary (****ing lol) if trump wins. Can’t give people a reason to spitevote that half a dipshit if you can balance the ticket with someone a would be RFK voter is fine with
Meanwhile trump remains a deeply unpopular human being who the only reason half the country is glad he wasn’t killed is only because the consequences of trump’s assassination aren’t worth being in a world without him. I don’t know if a candidate exists that would get him broader support but he could have at least avoided the ones who bring less than nothing to the table

It has been a surprising turnaround. Barely over two weeks ago I was trying to figure out which would be the bigger disaster between Biden staying in or dropping out, and right on the heels of Trump surviving an assassination attempt too.
Not only is she doing okay she's unquestionably killing it with fundraising. Last month was nuts, how much was post July 21 we'll fund out later but we already know it was at least 2/3rds. We'll have to see how that holds up but there's still the DNC to come. Of course they can't match the powerhouse that is Kid Rock but I'm sure they'll find some folks.
Either way at this point today she's at least not lost ground and very likely gained some, which is better than I expected.
