he got sent a stern letter from Thierry Breton ("digital commissioner" for the EU) reminding him there are proceedings ongoing over Twitter breaking the DSA (fascist regulation of social media the EU recently passed) and that basically (in many more words, in legalise) his live streaming might expose EU residents to "dangerous material and so exacerbate the ongoing case against Twitter.

we won't know for some time, because it gets tricky in courts, but the direction of that lawsuit is horrid (and was even before the letter).
I suppose one possible endgame will be Twitter ceasing operations in the EU, I don't see Musk censoring massively as the EU requires (psychopathic laws similar to the British ones, requiring pre emeptive censorship of "dangerous content" without it being clearly and strictly defined) nor him being able to create a way to censor only for EU residents (and unclear if he would be willing to).
