My comment was to correct lolwat's claim that the rally entirely consisted of neo nazis.

Thirdly, neutral within the context of the rally organisers and counter protesters. They wouldn't be neutral about the actual right to free assembly which would include counter protesting.

Trump called everyone there on both sides very fine or very bad. So he referred to some people who were there in support of "Unite the Right" very fine. People is plural, so he thinks there are at least 2 decent unite the right ralliers.
No idea what the third point is. There's no neutral with regard to Nazis. You are with them or against. I'm against.

Trump's comment about fine people was made three days after the rally and three days after he had been heavily criticized for saying that there was violence on both sides and heavily criticized for not condemning the rally more strongly. During that three-day period, there was extensive media coverage about who had organized the rally. By the time he made his comment about "fine people," there is no way that we was unaware of who had organized that rally.
This was already covered on a previous thread- some of the attendees were non racist militias who are big on the first amendment and were there in a neutral capacity, purely on free assembly/speech grounds, so yeah his last sentence is indeed utterly false as not all attending were nazis/supremacists as he claimed.

I may be misremembering it but I’m pretty sure trump’s immediate response the day of was condemning the organizers immediately after the rally and only after the far right was like wtf is this did trump give the famous ‘both sides’ a few days later to walk back any condemnation

in general, yes. but specifically if they are attempting to do what he is obviously doing.

It's not as if a Pres doesn't effectively have a say in whether we all live or die, and there's also the thing about the US sneezing and the world catching a cold.

What's wild is biden's debate performance was completely predictable if you watched his public appearances, pressers. He has generally been good at reading teleprompters (even if he's reading the bracketed subtext portions like "[pause]"), but any time he has to go off script or interact with other humans free form it is full of cringe moments where you realize he is suffering from alzheimers, dementia, whatever the appropriate term is i'll let ganstaman weigh in.
If you pointed this out before thursday night you were labeled some combination of trump supporter, ageist, or delusional. CNN, MSNBC, NYT's about face after months of gaslighting these views (morning joe not a few weeks ago described biden as at the top of his game and never sharper) is something else. Even PBS and NPR did this, bringing on "dementia experts" who stipulated there was no evidence biden was deteriorating, clearly excluding what we could witness with our eyes and ears as "evidence". All of these parties are culpable for keeping up a charade that allowed Biden to go unchallenged in primaries. Now his replacement candidate, if one exists, will be determined by the DNC rather than the people. Travesty.
