I love it when people think that they get to decide who counts as an "authentic" black person.
"Authentic" is your (loaded) word, not mine. White liberals (not Leftists) tend to prefer engaging with the plight of black people, or really anything "black", through a person who looks black but actually has the experiences more typical of a white person, and who definitely does not, in voice or mannerism or ideas, signal the actual suffering of black people by reminding the liberal of the ghettoization of black people or the resulting righteous anger. So we get people like Obama or Kamala, who have no American slave ancestors, accepted by white liberals and elevated. It's like discussing the plight of the homeless with someone who wears thrift store clothes, has a face that is a little too tanned, maybe smells like the beach, but who chews breath mints and has never actually been homeless. They might have only lived in their van for a few weeks once and just be making up everything they are saying about homelessness, but at least you don't have to pretend you're not smelling butthole while you are dying inside.
Obama was a tool of the oligarchs and his "blackness" was just a feature of it, allowing Obama to carry out a global assassination program of brown people without being criticized as racist. Then he could turn around and explain it to white folks in a way to make them feel good about it.

My current thinking is that Vance is the culturally Right version of Obama. He has more authenticity than Obama since he is actually from the demographic from which he represents himself while Obama has little experiential overlap with the typical AA. Obama got by knowing his liberal base doesn't really recognize the nuances between different types of black people beyond the Fresh Prince/Carlton dichotomy. I doubt if there would be a major
Vance is a celebrity smart guy author who, with no political experience, was elected by a bunch of dopes to be a Senator of Ohio. Now, after serving a few months, he is tapped by the dumbest guy ever elected to the highest office to be his running mate because his prior choice wouldn't violate the law and his oath. He is nowhere close to being the right wing version of Obama, who held political office at both the state and federal levels before his political run for president.

The guy is bankrolled by a the epitome of Silicon Valley elitism, who he got in touch with while ditching his roots and pulling up the ladder behind him. There was an NYT headline a couple days ago that was something like “Wall Street is afraid of JD Vance”. Laughable ****.
it's really not, very few people who hate him bother at all to actually pay any attention to him beyond curated clips and highlights
if you watch an entire speaking engagement of his, you'll see he comes off as very genuine and real, not staged and repeating talking points like other politicians
he also speaks directly to a lot of major frustrations and concerns to the average american
it's not rocket science to understand why he's so popular with certain groups who have always hated politicians - he's not only the anti-politician, but he's also the champion of their causes - who cares about who he is as a person or what he'll actually do as president - this is a guy I could have a beer with
.... Or people think of him as a teetotaling, slimy used car salesman who never tells the truth about anything.

1) Either this is the worst screw up in American Secret Service history or it was an inside job.
2) Evidence that this was an inside job is starting to come out. There is no way a 20 year old kid carries a ladder from Home Depot to the nearest building to where the speech is happening. How would the kid even know he would be able to successfully get on the roof?
3) A women Secret Service officer not only couldn't get here gun back into the holster, she hid behind the other officers during the shooting.
4) Notice only 6'2" plus SS men escorted Trump into the RNC.
5) Notice Trump was not completely protected as they escorted him to the vehicle after the shooting. The one area that was exposed was where the much smaller SS women was.
I'm calling for the immediate resignation of the head of SS.
