SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)
I'll provide more details and examples in the thread in the morning, but this should be enough info for you to /in and join so we can play.

Yeah, everything kinda points towards deer but it can't be that. Maybe it is just moose? Or elk?
I wish I could come up with a credible H9 for moose. Maybe the P4 is some kind of elk type or something. Puma and pika are the only animals I can think of that are P4, but those have nothing to do with deer/reindeer obv.
But yeah, moose or elk would be fine with me if nothing comes to us in the next little bit.
I'm not too concerned about the p4 because it seems like we prolly haven't heard of it anyway. Coming up with a good h9 would be nice tho.
I think I'm at moose>elk just because it seems like a more likely word to be on the list.

So, Prancer harnessed. Maybe it is closer to Christmas. Sleigh? I don’t know what Ervin’s S5/7 are, but S4 could be sled?
S5 could be Santa. I don't know what else we can do but guess sleigh, although I don't know what these other clues would be.

I guess Nich thought the -ed would help communicate it’s about the thing Prancer is connected to rather than components of the harness. So, sleigh makes the most sense for me at this point.
I do find it odd that it took so long for them to think of Santa's reindeer if this really is sleigh. I would think it'd pretty much be the first thing you'd think of. And there are a whole bunch of clues mentioned that we are clueless on.
I agree with all of that and I find it unlikely that sleigh is a word on the list.
And I forgot that P4 was a thing that literally no one knew without looking it up.
Can you think of anything else that makes sense tho? I think we're gonna have to end up guessing it even though it feels weird.
I’ll keep thinking, maybe something will come to me overnight
It occured to me that v7 could be vehicle, so that is another point in sleigh's favour.
I say we just guess it and move on.
