The man issues me infractions for merely having an opinion and expressing it. In a thread where people constantly attack me, call me all sorts of vicious names, some even threaten to do me harm, I get an infraction for suggesting the thread would be better if he stopped posting in it since he doesn’t contribute anything.
I guess people with thin skin shouldn’t be moderators.

having said that, i think it's difficult to maintain objectivity in a thread in which you are one of the most active participants within and thus i think gansta is in a difficult spot here and going to make mistakes as a result either through inaction out of fear of bias or via bias, it's a lose lose proposition which is why i don't think mods should be modding threads in which they are actively refuting things other people say
Yes, this was definitely a problem, which is why I mostly didn't take any mod actions in that thread until Meisner said another poster had Down's Syndrome. I think the fact that I let a lot more go after that allowed the thread to get out of control. I thought that providing warnings could help the thread calm down and become productive without ruining anyone's day, like an infraction with points could do.
Getting another mod to do most of the modding in that thread would require convincing someone else to read it. I'd be fine with that, but I don't intend to let egregious insults slide now that the thread is maybe cooled off.

I think what we really need is a thread in the about the forums where we repeat exactly the same things that are discussed in the thread except that we add that ganstaman is apparently a big meany poopy butt. ****. ****. I was hoping to make that thread, but here I am reading it.
I spelled ganstaman's name correctly, making me the winner.
I'd suggest that Bowser (Browser?, Beavis?) actively (Activia?) moderate threads (threats?) where ganstaman has some expertise or interest and ganstaman actually post (and report posts) in those threads is the best solution.
However, I admit that is a dumb solution. I actually hope ganstaman doesn't waste his time on the thread. He has patients and his efforts should be spent on them. His hobby of hanging around on 2+2 is a fine hobby, but it is a hobby.
TwoPlusTwo has a long and honorable history of containing not only threads, but people. If they don't post here, they might go outside and annoy actual people.
