ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

Lol thinking executive branch has no influence on the fed

Remember when trump keep complaining at powell for even lower rates then what is was ?

President can try all they want , but in the end of the day it comes down to the central bank .
If u have a weak chairman , yes president can have influence .

by biggerboat P

Lol thinking trump did anything other than blather while president.

I'm not supporting Trump in the primary for many reasons but it's also silly to act like he did nothing as president

He lied a lot. Said stupid stuff daily.

He's proof that we lay far too much blame and far too much credit for things to the president.

Biden administration admits that THEIR POLICIES CAUSED INFLATION

https://www.cnn.com/2022/05/31/politics/...

Did u read the article .
Ukrayne war , China shutdown , fed QE till match 2022 , covid etc .
Inflation was already going up when they took office too.
They did some policies to help people that was inflationary yes , like I said to lozen btw .
But vast amount of this inflation the US had never stems from biden .
Your insane to think so …
It takes between 18-24 month for monetary places to take effect in the economy .
And has public debt goes up , it inject money in the system which can create inflation too .
Biden never had enough times to have any meaningful impact on inflation the way it went .

All of that is true
He still took away regulations for small businesses. Middle class taxes went down whether you believe it or not.

I agree that a generic republican could have done those things and it didn't have to be Trump. But they still happened

Looking forward to a lot more of this in the coming year.

So, does that mean you are one of those people mentioned who mostly wants Trump to be president because of how upset are made by him? Or would you be just as happy with a different Republican who would likely support the same policies and have a better shot at getting them implemented?

They kept pushing for more stimulus and Promised it would not cause inflation when any 3rd grader knew it would

So they either lied or were incompetent

Seems to be the left wing Media acting like 4 year olds when Trump is the race

4 year olds you know often go on talk shows or post to internet forums complaining about Donald Trump?

by lozen P

Just cause you say wrong or incorrect doesn't make it so.

Under Trump there were no wars wrong Please tell me what wars
Under Trump the mortgage payment was $1900 instead of $3300 nope that is a fact based on current interest rates
A gallon of gas was cheaper not always actually it was
groceries were cheaper global inflation due to covid Gonna use that excuse forever
Crime wasn't as bad wrong Yes it is
the border wasn't as wide open as

Where I live, I think gas is cheaper than it was when Trump left office, and I don't think groceries are significantly higher, at least not enough for me to notice.

The Covid related inflation started while Trump was still in office, and he personally started the free money giveaways that caused a lot of the inflation we are dealing with now. You can't compare what things are like now to the way they were in 2019 before Covid.

Where do you get this information on "net worth"? And why did Trump's go down while he was in office? He is the only President I know of who not only kept his business assets while president, but channeled government money to them by hosting foreigners.

I can't imagine how anyone's relationship with their grandchildren has anything to do with being President, but I think it is more likely than not that Trump has children and grandchildren that no one in the public knows about. And he likely paid for abortions of his children as well.

Lol regarding grocery prices. You must not do the shopping

Gas is .80 higher nationally than january 2021 except in chills town

by Gorgonian P

Nah, it's cheaper here now than it was under Trump at the end and that's what matters to me. I paid 2.23 yesterday and it was 2.48 on Trump's last day. I don't care about the national average. California skews that wildly. That's why I said "not always."

Yeah I don't know how this chart is calculated, but it in no way matches what I have paid. I live in a major west coast city and right now I can get regular gas for $2.15.
It was higher when Trump left office, I never saw it go below $2.

Let’s just be honest your all upset that Trump crushed Iowa yesterday and The new miss America doesn’t have a penis

I'm pretty sure I do more grocery shopping than any other regulars here, I go at least once a week. They started going up significantly when Covid hit, during the Trump administration, but now most things I buy have gone back down to pre-Covid prices. I wouldn't know what has happened to rich people groceries though, I don't look at them.

It's California. I'd like to see these divided by region.

Gorgonian's as well. But hey, that bastion of liberalism, Portland Oregon must be doing something right to have gas prices going down. And they even pump the gas for you here!

No more republican debates until/if Trump is ready to show up

I'm sure you know from other threads that I'm no fan of the promotion of trans issues, etc. But do you really think that would have been different under Trump? I don't see how. Do you think "wokeness" will go down if he wins again? If anything, I think those promoting that kind of thing will push even harder if he is elected.

republicans have never made the economy better. they just trick stupid people into thinking so. and you can't argue with stupid people.

So they either lied or we

Everybody except all the economist and central banks around the world ….
Any 3rd grader have no idea where inflation comes from lol because they still complain today !

The majority thought it was supply chain issues and then war happened .
If it was only democrats how come any freakn countries in the world suffered even more inflation then the US ?
U think biden policies affect even more the rest of the world then the US ?
Lol….

Yes biden police’s did some inflation in the US but they need those tax receipts to pay down the debt to not got bust !
Remember central banks (majority of them around the world too) aim at 2% inflation which is still inflationary …..
The entire world is around 350% debt to gdp !
No one in the world need or want no inflation btw.
Complaining strictly about inflation just because it’s inflation is stupid ….the reality is biden went from 8-9% inflation to 3% it ain’t 2% but it’s manageable at least ….and the US is in the best position worldwide economically .
China gets crush , Europe get crush , Japan currency in the toilet , etc ….

I have no idea wtf Americans complain about Us economy sand inflation still .
They are in the best position in the world for now ffs even tho they have some problems …..

14-15?of the poorest states in US are republicans !
No facking wondered why …..

by Rococo P

Why do you believe this?

Because of the big family he has to shop for.

by Rococo P

Why do you believe this?

Because I have always enjoyed doing grocery shopping, go to different stores to find the best deals, do all the grocery shopping for my roommate, etc.

I certainly don't know anyone personally who does more grocery shopping with me, not even my sister who has two teenage boys.

I could be wrong, but I would be willing to bet I do more than metsandfins fan, who said I must not do the shopping. I certainly do more than the average person, and I think of people on 2+2 as mostly being the type who goes out to eat a lot and doesn't do that much grocery shopping.
This forum seems to be mostly made up of men who are older than me, and that demographic generally does much less shopping than me.
