Huh? What does that mean?
WSOP 2023 schedule dropped on Feb 2. What are the chances we see it released on the anniversary tomorrow?
Dagnabbit, stop posting these arbitrary questions about whether or not it will drop soon! It keeps bumping the thread up and makes me think it’s out now. I get excited then get disappointed. Then I cry.
Kevmath said "by Valentine's Day" so that tells me not anytime soon.
SHXT :(:(:( He normally has the inside track on that kind of info ..... I'm bummed. 😡
Wow that sucks for the players who wants to make plans !!
I agree WSOP run moderately well.
I understand it’s a huge undertaking and lots of logistical issues to be addressed like hiring dealers, weekends dates, crowd attractive tournaments etc etc.
But that’s every year .
Success of WSOP is mainly due to it’s 100’s of thousands fans.
WSOP was popular even before some of its corporate organizers were born.
Please don’t take fan as granted. Give priority to fans problems of planning their hotel stay ,travel dates , and work vacation etc.
You have 6 months of time after 2023 WSOP.
Start your planning 2 or 4 weeks ahead.
Don’t just sit and glow in the success of previous record year of WSOP.
One of the reason always discussed in the fans group for delayed announcements is to limit other casinos planning for competitive tournaments!!
Yes Las Vegas casinos has always benefited by other casinos offering. But that’s how market works. I don’t think any WSOP’s event got less runners because there is a competitive series at other casinos. Or any casinos went bankrupt because they didn’t get overflow from WSOP.
Please think of convenience of Fans (The main reason of success).
This is how they feel about customer and fan !!!
I have been going to Las Vegas since 1985 (including some Super Bowl weekends) I have been playing in the WSOP and staying at Ceasars properties on and off since 2006. I have had ZERO issues during that time period with my reservations being honored.
Personally I never had a bad experience with Ceasars. They always treated me according to my card status and booking.
But I can understand how sucess and overwhelming demands can affect corporate greed.
My answer above is taking original complaints as it is reported.
Wow. Just wow. If true, that needs to be spread as far and wide as possible. Caesar’s has increasingly been treating its customers (and others) like crap since the El Dorado acquisition. There really has to come a point at which they start paying a price.
The question of WPT retaliation is interesting, but I brought it up half in jest. I have a hard time believing the WSOP will cut off its nose to spite its face to that degree.
Anyhow, has anyone heard any official explanation for the delay? We’re basically 6 weeks behind last year, at least when it comes to announcing the key dates. If I had to guess, competitor issues notwithstanding, this delay is because there are some non-insignificant logistical changes impacting things. Construction? Staffing? When they do release the schedule, if it is more or less the same as last year, I would be pretty surprised. And that would lend credence to the conspiracy theories.
After the series last year, there was talk of adding a 3rd large room to handle an even larger crowd. If that’s true, and they are expanding the series (number of events or expecting bigger crowds) maybe that’s one thing that’s causing a delay. Just a guess though.
I still think that the delay relates to them taking their eye off the ball in order to put on their new Paradise event late last year. It sucks to be kept in suspense like this. They have a captive audience though. Would any of us cancel our plans to go this year because of this late schedule drop? I won't, but it is very aggravating.
If that’s the reason then we will never hear a word about it. Again, if the schedule comes out and things are more or less the same as last year, then people will be left to speculate what the holdup was this year. And I’m sure whatever reasons we come up with will not make the WAOP look good.
Y'all need to learn to adopt some patience into your daily lives. Last year's was released on February 2nd, and here it is February 2nd. God forbid the schedule comes out a week or so later than last year. Here's a hint: airline fares don't change much until within about 2.5 months of travel, and hotel rates don't change much either. No one in America needs to submit time off requests more than 3 months in advance to their employer/manager.
Last year the preliminary schedule was released December 12th, the final schedule February 2nd. We're all waiting for the preliminary schedule.
I think you’re confusing impatience with excitement. The people complaining aren’t getting mad or crazy about it. They’re just excited to see it. No need for the condescension.
Weekends of marquee events my man.
By this point last year those weekends/events had been known for 5-6 weeks at a min.
Yep, a 10-day difference on an event four months in the future is killer.
This seems like a FTC complaint waiting to happen. Now, whether that actually impacts anything is another question.
From a post on the WSOP website: "With WSOP Paradise concluding the World Series of Poker’s 2023 event calendar, all efforts shift to preparation for the flagship 2024 World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. "
There's your answer. That's why they haven't already dropped a preliminary or final schedule yet for 2024. They were too busy with a poker series few of us had any interest in. They should not have lied and said to expect a preliminary schedule in early January. It is what it is.
You are kidding right ? and I am just to dumb to pick up on the sarcasm ?
A Federal Trade Commission complaint..... for what ?
When two companies merge , FTC keeps eye on them to make sure they don’t become monopoly and start robbing the consumers.
If there is not enough competition in any market the prices of the service or product tend to go higher.
I remember in NJ , when 1st casino opened ( Resort) , they were charging $5 entry fee to get in to the door !!!

Seems to be clearly related to their mission. Whether it’s worth their time is a different matter.
