[Bodog/Bovada/Ignition] Unofficial Thread

This thread is to separate the Bovada-related comments and questions from the Official Bodog Support Thread, which is there only for questions or concerns about anything Bodog-branded.

There is no official Bovada Rep at 2+2 at this time, but perhaps if discussion is effected in a civil manner, one might arrive in due course?

Thank you.

Ive been out of the game for a while and quite confused. Last time I was playing Bovada, Ignition bought them and Bovada account became an Ignition account. Now im seeing they are both active but i believe just skins and the same player pool. Can you have an account at both? Having some issues recovering my Ignition account and thinking to just make an account on Bovada. I dont recall some info from my account since it was so long ago.

When did Bovada come back into the mix?

When

Bovada never left the mix, you simply misunderstood what happened. Ignition/Bovada/Bodog are all skins of the same network.

I’ve been on many downswings before, figured it was a bad run but could turn it around despite my inclinations but not knowing 100%. If I always quit when things got bad I’m sure I would have been out of poker a long time ago. Certainly an expensive lesson learned

You are not alone. I just thought I was on the worst downswing of my 17 years playing online poker. Then around December 2023 I suspected I was being cheated so I raised my concerns in this thread after some others were raising there concerns. Now I am convinced I was being cheated. In one way, it makes me feel a little better because I was second guessing whether I really had turned into a losing player. However, it is depressing that it took me 6 months of being on a terrible "downswing" to realize it wasn't just variance. And the realization that online poker is pretty much over as we know it is also pretty sobering (*for Americans without any other good option).

I'm in an awkward situation where I was a winning player for like 15 years, got out of poker for a year, got back into it last year just at 200 which is way lower than I would have played in the past, and last year had a 100 buyin downswing in the latter half of the year, although I ran up 100 buyins first. The thing is I mean I do have some leaks and I've got coaches and stuff here and there, obviously my red line is terrible but I just completely stopped being able to win around September of last year. It's possible it's all variance and I'm playing like NL50 and NL100 now just to try and get a sample and plug leaks but it's pretty depressing to think that even if I get back beating 200 there may just be nothing above it beatable anymore.

Where the graph turns is like exactly the beginning of September 2023, and before that was like Feb-August.

In $: (I ran way worse playing 500 than the other stakes)

It's just weird cause like I know from talking to coaches and how bad my red line and stuff is that part of it is definitely my fault, I was hoping all of it is and when I get better I'd win again, but it's depressing to think that even if I get good the reward will just be to get back to 500 and get cheated.

At least I graduate from law school this year!

You can have an account on each. Not sure how they treat accounts that go inactive for several years. Probably best to contact support and ask them about the status of your account with whatever email you used to use for Bovada before attempting to open a new one.

When did Bovada come back into the mix?

They brought poker back about a year after Ignition opened.

It actually did. Bovada removed poker from their website when Ignition opened and then brought it back about a year later.

Depressing thread.

Depressing thread.

Correction if i may, My Lord! Depressing state of online poker in the good ole US of A. There is no way, in the so called "Freest country in the world"...for us to participate in a game played in countries we call dictatorships and their leaders "Strongmen". And a game, WE invented.
Gotta love our government! Gotta love em! In this country, and not near the borders at all, one can buy Cannabis legally out of a state licensed dispensary, drive 2o miles, and be a FELON for the same act! Same country, 20 miles out of some 2,000 on this particular Interstate. Folks. There is something rotten in Denmark!
And we hope! Yes we hope! That this motley collection of clowns, con-men and ner-do-wells we call "Congress Critters"....have the capacity to fix online poker? And the kicker? They are desperate for the tax revenue! You can't make this stuff up.
Peace

I’ve DM’d a few posters in this thread but wanted to chime in with my experiences. I had raised suspicions about collusion in the high stakes PLO games back in early 2023 when everything seemed to turn for me. I was getting torched in NSDW and started seeing uncommon donk lines and hands that didn’t make “sense” as bluffs. I was playing PLO 2K where I was winning for the last three years as a 4bb/100 winner and am now down to PLO 500 a

I posted on here recently that i was withdrawing my roll in chunks and have been to the point where i have just enough on there now to play MTT's on Sundays and other days when they have a series running with some of their larger guarantees and suggested you all do the same. I'm all done playing cash here unless something changes dramatically and have fully transitioned to live in that respect. I prefer online for obv reasons and still had a winning 2023 on bonition but from what i saw personally, coupled with what many others have been posting here the last year+ was more than enough for me to take the majority of my money off here.

Have played here over a decade and for the first time in 20+ years of online play i do not feel safe playing here as far as game integrity goes. Again they never seemed to stop accounts from botting but they had atleast always done a really good job of catching colluders and issuing refunds. They're obviously not doing that even anymore and with the advancement in poker technology/tools out there unbeatable bots long term even against the best human opponents can definitely be constructed these days.

Seems nobody else here is even considering that bonition may be behind some, if not all of the cheating themselves and fleecing players, atleast long time winning ones and using "house bots" in the process. Unless if they did away with having a security team altogether the people working for them currently have to be completely blind/idiotic to not see what is going and i just don't see that being the case as they were able to catch plenty of colluders/cheaters in the past, it's not like these current accounts that are colluding are doing a good job of disguising it so i'm curious as to what some others thoughts or explanations are why these accounts still exist despite all the evidence?

Serious question, but does any of all the recent news make anyone question the legitimacy of AIEV on ignition? I haven't heard from any long term, legitimately winning regs about running above AIEV over the last year, putting aside all the tanking of AIEV winrate.

Obviously don't want to sound like a "poker is rigged" person: anyone who's had an above AIEV run over big samples, feel free to chime in.

(For context, I was a 3-4bb winner at 2knl prior to 2023. In 2023 I managed about AIEV1.2bb/100 at 2knl but ran about 45 buyins below for a negative overall year.)

I don't think its the RNG. I think its the colluders stealing the EV. If you know 6 of the hole cards its a lot easier to make good all-in ev decisions. Although maybe someone smarter than me has different opinion.

When colluders are exposed on WPN, they almost always run above EV since they are sharing hole cards.

Wow. I have pretty much the same exact story. Was a winning player for years stopped playing for a while decided to get back into it at the end of 2022 and just got destroyed all through 2023. I didn't grind as much tho, every time I played it just felt too hopeless.

Are these zone hands?

A mix but I guess primarily zone just because if I was playing 2 reg and 2 zone it's gonna be 75% zone because of the speed

Everyone at my table constantly disconnects and it will never stop 😀

My 500NL 6max regular tables was a similar to yours. My All-in Adj bb/100 for 2023 was 5.52 yet my actual win rate was 0.87. I thought I was just running like garbage but now I realize I was just being teamed up against.

My 200NL stats are more in-line with what is normal variance - although of course still "ran bad" there too just not nearly as bad as 500NL. I got my teeth kicked in at 500NL from July - Dec.

Hand from last week. Suicide raise 4-ways with no blockers. Player also had 72% VPIP and 57 WWSF. Can't make it anymore obvious

Some sessions my mouse scroll wheel will increase by 0.5BB increments and other times a full 1BB increment but I can't work out why. Anyone have any ideas?

Also the same here - long term winning player on PS before our government banned online poker.

I've just withdrawn my BR from Ignition and will look for somewhere else.

I'm used to variance and downswings etc but there's something seriously not quite right with Ignition which I can't put my finger on.

Apart from the colluders, lately I've also noticed hyper LAGs sitting on massive stacks 5+ times the buyin, 4betting every hand and never losing on the river.

On one of the most unbelievable downswings I have ever experienced on this site. I want to cry.

Similar story here - i've played professionally since 2014 with ignition cash comprising most of my volume since 2015. While I've done well in MTTs in the last 1.5 years, I've been on a horrendous run at cash (in seemingly great games) and have been running well below EV and getting crushed by players that seem like whales. In the past, I've been sketched out by ACR and their security but given recent changes that now seems like the safer option

Thinking of switching over to ignition from ACR but hesitant due to rake back. Are there any rake back referrals for the site or are you pretty much screwed?

Patrick Howard was recently on Jungleman's podcast discussing the state of online games. The colluding bot problem on Ignition was discussed a few times - he didn't seem too optimistic they are going to get this under control anytime soon. Regardless, I think its worth the hour listen for anyone that plays online poker. Podcast is "Winning the game of life" and its the most recent episode.
