Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Bibi is a brilliant mofo/speaker. If you don't see it, that's a you thing.
which isolationist period?
And I really wonder why this "they had done it before" card isn't played more, because every single country, ethnicity or religious group did something bad before.
What's wrong with criticizing Israel, or criticizing anyone? That most people don't handle personal criticism well only proves how human nature is (bad), not that there is any absolute "wrong" with criticizing. They did bad things, just like the arabs also did, and they deserve to be called out on that.
The vast majority of Muslims are peaceful and not hateful. Wish I could say the same of Christians.
Dunyain is right, it's not they "did"
Probably a top 3 reason for the US being in Syria is to prevent turkey from taking out a ton of Kurds. Once Trump wins and removes the troops it's going to be a rough day for lots of Kurds.
So the vast majority of Christians are hateful and not peaceful? Cite and source?
If using cherry-picked Koran quotations that you don't understand makes you feel less conflicted about supporting this mass slaughter, go ahead.
Wow. US air force man sets himself on fire outside Israeli embassy
https://time.com/6821425/israel-embassy-...
An active duty Air Force soldier immolated himself in front of the Israeli embassy, shouting Free Palestine. This won't get much coverage, so I'll repost this in respect of the sacrifice of a life.
what a dick
this what you mean
You gotta be pretty mentally ill to burn yourself alive
Yeah. Other than your linked NY Times piece, lots more MSM outlets covering it-
https://www.google.ie/search?q=aaron+bus...
-and its own wiki page, it's a total news blackout on the incident. It must be the Zionists doing...
Okay... Bye Bye now!
They have deeds issued under the Ottomans and later the British. Private ownership, yo.
Here's an Ottoman deed from 1883:
maybe its just a blackout on honest reporting
Mets how does your position change with this new information?
I gather the US armed forces are having recruitment problems, like the British armed forces, and they appear to have recruited a right one there. A bit like that ex-officer who burbles about captured alien spacecraft.
'A land without people for a people without land!' This was never true, except in the sense that the settlers did not regard the existing inhabitants as 'people', and still apparently don't.
According to Reuters, an Israeli delegation has today gone to Qatar for ceasefire talks. Netanyahu says he won't call off the assault on Rafah, but it doesn't seem to have started. Of course he needs to put pressure on Hamas to release the remaining hostages.
I am very grateful to have known Palestinian people growing up and to have had a random Palestinian guy help me in a time of need.
If I didn’t know these people it would be more difficult to have empathy for them but I do not abstain the genocide supporters from their guilt
Do you think it is helpful for Palestinians to have western "allies" such as yourself that criticize Israel and its supporters, but are completely supportive of their suicidal, nihilistic actions?
I dont. I think that is how this continues indefinitely and nothing gets better. The last thing Palestinians need is empathy from people that just support antisocial behavior that ensures their condition never improves.
they are not suicidal and nihilistic. they are fighting for freedom.
Or maybe it's you moving the goalposts. The claim was that it wouldn't be reported much, not that the reporting wouldn't meet your personal criteria for honesty and it's all over MSM which belies said claim. And whaddya mean honest, if they reported the fact that a dude set fire to himself outside the Israeli embassy in Washington, then that's honest reporting as a dude really did burn himself alive in that location, the end.
I didn't deny their homes. I said there was no nation
