The World Series of Poker has wrapped up its newest winter series and is announcing new details for the 2024 summer event in Las Vegas.

The 2024 WSOP will take place at Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas from May 28 to July 17, 2024, with the Main Event running from July 3 to July 17. The Main Event – poker’s undisputed freezeout world championship – will have four starting days, beginning on Wednesday, July 3. Players may also register directly on Day 2 on July 7 and 8.
The full daily event schedule for the 55th annual WSOP will be announced in early 2024. Fan favorites, including the Mystery Millions, Millionaire Maker, and the Senior’s Championship, will return to the schedule in 2024. …..”
Does anyone know what the fee was for buying into an event with a credit or debit card at the cage? I play in 3-5 small events each year and I always pay cash, but I'm not a fan of carrying around that much cash and it seems like there has to be a better way.
I remember someone told me about using the APP and I forgot why I didn't go that route last year.
Leave Harrahs through the southern-most doors on the strip, walk ~30 ft. of sidewalk and enter Linq. Repeat for leaving Linq, entering Flamingo.
While in Flamingo, locate check-in desk/valet area and exit those doors. Walk the short distance behind Cromwell and you'll be at a crosswalk for Flamingo Rd.

The only real "hot" spot on that route is the crosswalk between the Cromwell and HS. That light can require a 1-2 min wait and it only allows crossing for about 30 second. So you can't necessarily wait inside the Crowell valet door, unless you are prepared to move pretty quick. You can wait in the valet area in the shade, but it's still hot since it's outdoors. Be aware for anybody with significant heat sensitivity.

"... 2.95%/3.95% depending on the card issuer. For international credit and debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover), there will be a 3.50% fee, in addition to the $3 processing fee for each transaction."

I walk fast, really fast when there is sapce, I would assume many people will still want to use elevators during the break though, but it is better than nothing. Consider doing a wire transfer to the WSOP - it was ran thru a Paris contact last year and only costs you the Wire transfer fee say $30 from your bank. Depending on how much you would charge it could be a fair savings.
Haven't seen this years instructions but it was a fairly simple process to set up last year. Just confirm your identity when you arrive and then go to the cages to use the buyin. Note the funds are usable for WSOP events only so its not a great option for playing serious cash games. They will wire your remaining funds or cash you out (typically) at the end of your stay.

Yes, probably the cheapest way, especially on weekends, is to just move to a non-casino hotel for 2 days, like maybe Embassy Suites, that doesn't have a resort fee.

So rather than surviving to say the top 10% of the starting field, you are awarded a seat as soon as you build your stack to a certain level. 10x the starting stack for a 10% satellite? This is new to me. I wonder about the strategy ramifications.

Yeah, the diamond line benefit (like so many other things at CET) isn’t what it used to be. There are, of course, many more diamond holders now than there used to be. But the main reason is because there are just more ways to register now. I highly recommend folks set up a TBIC account when they arrive at the WSOP. The process is fairly painless. Someone may have stolen the clock in your case, but HS got rid of clocks in all rooms a couple years ago. Beats me why they felt the need to do this, but it certainly wasn’t because they were too busy in the past setting the accurate time on them 😆

Yeah, they got rid of a lot of appliances like coffee makers and some rooms even used to have microwaves. One of the maintenances folks told me they had many hundreds of them sitting in a storage space.
i know this is a long shot, but......
i'm looking for 1 or more players who may be driving to/from WSOP 2024 from texas and wanting to stay around 2 weeks or so. i am driving out there due to fear of flying & medical issues, and need another person(s) to drive with. i (42m) will be staying with a buddy of mine (25m), at horseshoe. we are chill, no partying on the strip, no slots/pits, just focus on poker during trip like real poker junkies. we have gone for a few years now and really enjoy the series. mostly cash players, with some tournaments mixed in. if you want to room with us, that would make it cheaper for everyone (if not, that's cool).
i have made the drive for many years now. it's a 2-day drive, ~10 hours per day. but maybe can make it a super long 1-day drive with myself and 1 or 2 more people to split driving. obviously we would need to meet beforehand, make sure we get along. will be using my vehicle (roomy, nice 4-door truck). i will eat most gas expenses, since this would primarily be accommodating me.

Stringer - Akashenk has laid it out very well. I will add that calling direct to the Horseshoe can also at times give you the best deal. I personally have ran into the 48 hour issues when booking online and opt for 72 hours. Checking often can be key to getting the best deal as Asashenk notes as rates are constantly changing and whether it is accurate or not I have read several accounts that this partially can be a browser cache issue on

Good luck. CET certainly doesn’t make it easy to just get the best rates possible. You have to dig quite a bit. This isn’t reserved for CET, or any company, of course. Just look at the tax code.
FWIW, I wouldn’t sleep on completing your plans sooner rather than later. You might even try calling in and telling them you cancelled your second leg by accident and seeing if that gets you anywhere.
I have always stayed at HS (formerly Ballys) during the WSOP. And given the generally slow time of year in Vegas, and back when the WSOP was at the Rio, it seemed like there was a decent chance that prices would come down at some point as it got closer to the event itself. That wasn’t the case last year and it’s not looking like it this year. Summer isn’t as slow as it used to be, and the event being held at HS has definitely made things more expensive to stay there. In an ideal world (for me), they would move the event to Caesars, or even better, the new Forum convention space.

Caesars couldn't accommodate the WSOP, the combined area of the 3 large rooms at Paris and Horseshoe is 50% more than the two large Caesars rooms. The Forum would be interesting though. Its two ballrooms are next to each other, and would represent about a 30% increase in space. It's convenient to the Flamingo, Linq, and Harrah's, and not too bad from the Venetian or Horseshoe, plus easy access from the Linq/Harrah's monorail station, and has its own parking garage. Downside is that there's no option to stay anywhere that would allow you to avoid going outside for a bit or getting to your room during a 20 minute break.

Don't use an American Express card. They take the biggest bite/charge, something like 3%.
OK, so here's the next question. When will BravoPokerLive open for WSOP event registrations? My notes indicate that last time is was April 13th. No reason to expect anything much different this time. I guess I am the fool in a hurry to part with his money.

I was looking 12 nights straight in either HS,Paris or Cromwell , I was quoted $390 . So I booked 5 comped nights to start with ( June 18th) and 6th & 7th night At Boyd property (Orleans also comped) and 8th -12th night back with Ceasars property (Comped)= $0.00.
Yes I will go through hassle of changing hotels twice in 12 nights but to stick to my strict budget this was the best I can do .

I’m not sure what you consider small, but there are three mega-field events under $1000 the week of the 24th. There’s nothing spread out about that.

Argh ! I am so sorry if either Akashenk or my comments end up costing you money or have added to the hassle. Akashenk may have given you the best suggestion trying to call and reference your prior confirmation number that you cancelled and see if they will reinstate it. Other than that just keep trying online and I'd call once a week ........... it never ceases to surprise me what type of pricing pops up out of the blue on occasions. Take a look at riverph7 post as a good example of working the system. It all comes down to what minor inconveniences you are comfortable putting up with. Personally I just treat it as a game. I win when I pay the least for the level of convenience I require to fully enjoy the time I spend. LOL I honestly end up spending 5 times the amount on hotels of my 24 days it cost me in Las Vegas on the 14 days I take visiting National Parks on my drive home.....and trust me I work those rates too 😃 Best of luck to whatever you end up doing.

There’s direct indoor access from the Linq. But yes, going to one’s room on break would be very difficult.

I tried June 25 to June 27, and did not get that message, so is it "skip 2 nights" or "skip 3 nights"?

My experience has been 3 nights. Although, I can call and book. The weird thing is the rate offered is typically slightly higher than what is shown online. But it's much better than the rate if you log out and book.

I really missed having a coffee maker at the Horseshoe. The Gold Coast adjacent to Rio had this.
Here is my answer that invokes memories of my college days -- an immersion heater. I don't mind instant coffee. It's what I have at home.
