Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Vic...should Hamas unconditionally release the hostages...or not? Yes or no?

breh, I dont know.

actually, how many hostages are left? arent most of the people in there military and thus just POWS?

so sure, release the civilians. dunno about the rest, but like I said I dont want to tell the resistance how to resist.

by gs3737 P

Victor, show me proof that 30,000 Gazan civilians are dead.

Like actual proof…

What do you think the number is?

by TeflonDawg P

What do you think the number is?

I think most would concede the 30k number of Palestinians dead is probably fairly accurate

The number that are hamas, the number dead by hamas misfires of rockets-- those are what people will disagree on

The Gaza ministry says 30,000 people have died but they admit this includes militants

Thanks for your pretty despicable answer but an answer nonetheless.

Well at least you're not a total cu...at least you acknowledge the civilians should be released. Cheers.

At present Israel won't attend the Cairo talks because they say Hamas won't confirm which hostages are still alive. There is of course a lot of positioning and temporising going on, but Hamas are in some existential difficulty once they surrender the hostages, so I wouldn't necessarily blame the whole problem on the Israelis.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-...

Hamas is reported to have said that an agreement on a truce could be reached within the next 24 to 48 hours, with a source from the group telling Egyptian media a deal depended on Israel agreeing to its demands.

--This is from the article you linked. It looks like Hamas has decided they are dealing from a position of strength and have the leverage to make demands. (The article doesn't even state what the demands are, probably because they are so ludicrous)

Hamas demands are well known. Essentially they want a cessation of hostilities and the population to return to their homes.

Hamas is refusing to give a list of hostages

Israel will not show up to the table until they do

You're missing his point

Victor believes that anyone who ever served in the Israeli military is not a civilian

Never said that. Stop lying.

What I did ask was if anyone that ever served Hamas is always Hamas right?

Lots of reports the US dropped expired food

After deadly aid incident, Israel to try new methods of delivery to north Gaza this week

Official says convoys could be secured by IDF and enter from northern Israel-Gaza border

Good article, thanks for sharing. Hopefully it works out.

Highlights a lot of the misunderstanding from yesterday about "Just force them to do it!"

I cant imagine the mindset to actually believe that bullshit

BTW Victor you conveniently disappeared after saying you'd answer my question if I answered yours. I answered yours.

i mean it was 3am and I usually go to be at like 9. Ill go back and look.

Are those clowns protesting/raving/blocking a crossing actually affecting aid getting in? There are other crossings?

They moved the rave, clown.

You and your queer-ass avatar can remain out-of-the-know.

tbh I dont see your answer. and I am not sure what you want me to answer.

A likely story

by Bluegrassplayer P

A likely story

you could just link your question. and your answer.

or you could continue to be an *******.

I am way too accommodating to trolls like yourself.

this was my post asking for an answer and promising reciprocation.

https://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showp...

you did not address it nor quote it nor respond to me.

so ya likely story that liars like you lie. I understand your game. I keep getting caught up in it bc I am sincere person that likes to engage. but people like you are only in it for the trolling and its clear you are trying to get a rise out of me by posting lies.

In the post directly after that I bring up the original question we were replying to and explain how what the question you refuse to answer is THE important factor to the discussion. Feel free to now answer the question. PW answered for you: send unarmed paratroopers into Gaza (apparently not by jumping, even though they're paratroopers) in order to ???? and get aid in. If you have a more realistic answer feel free to state it, otherwise I'll just assume you agree with PW.

number 2 is that the USA tells Israel to allow aid in (from whoever - UN, UNRWA, Red Cross etc) and threatens to use its levers of power.
