Hopefully you saw my last deleted post where I was said that the line between targeting civilians and actual genocide is going to be pretty thin, and that Chillrob's post was the other example of posts supporting Victor's position that I had in mind, but we can continue that discussion here.

No, I didn't see the post and dont recall the Chillrob post you are referring to. I have gone through 2 bannings of my own in the last month, and have not kept up with the thread during those times.

What exactly is genocide in your mind? Maybe that is where the disconnect is. And is it so broad a category to be basically meaningless? Was October 7th a genocide? Is it a genocide when Hamas fires 10,000 rockets into Israel?
I wouldn't call either of those genocides, nor would I call Israel's offensive.
However, Turkey and Aizerbaijan literally using warfare to intentionally displace Kurds and Christians (and other smaller ethnicities) and replace them with ethnic Turkish and Azerbaijani Muslims absolutely qualify as genocides in my mind.

I tend to be a literalist when it comes to definitions (while also fully understanding that definitions are not rigid and that they change over time), but my definition of "genocide" is going to be pretty close to the book definition. I don't think that's too relevant though and certainly enough people in the discourse (including prominent ones like multiple heads-of-state) are calling what is happening in Gaza a genocide that it's firmly a part of the discourse.
But the actual debate is about whether Victor should be allowed to say that there are people who like it, love it, and want more of it including dead children, and given some of the posts that have occurred since his temp ban there obviously do seem to be such people-- which shouldn't be some shocking revelation since there are lots of morbid people out there who revel in death and destruction. And to be sure I don't think that's you, or Mets, or some of the other people who have come under Victor's rhetorical fire, but it's definitely not a good look to ban Victor for two weeks and allow some of the posts literally calling for genocide and then refuse to address it as Browser has.
denying genocide is not the same as being "fine with genocide". in other words, if there was a genocide on Western liberals or Israeli fascists then I would not be fine with it and would oppose it obv and those are really the only 2 groups that I dont like.
