She took a brand deal with budweiser to post an ad on an instagram, and the anti-trans right went absolutely ballistic, calling for a boycott, condemning the company, and to some perhaps unknowable degree it influenced that Budweiser sales dropped by a 1/4 and
. Dylan speaks more personally about the effect of the hatred on her.
What strikes me about this story is that it is just about visibility. This isn't inclusion in sports or gender-affirming care for minors, it was just that a trans person was visible. This wasn't even visibility in a TV commerical that a poor right-winger is forced to see, it was an ad on her own instagram page. We're all in our own social media algorithm influenced bubbles, but from my vantage point it really has seemed that in the last year or so things have just gotten worse for trans people and the backlash to even minor visibility is growing.
We need to do better.

What if the illusion is moronic and fighting it is dangerous?
The point is that the ideas that you can have gender segregated sports to encourage female participation AND gender should be decoupled from biology are not compatible; so it will be interesting moving forward how society deals with the tension.
I predict the more the regime forces "trans female" participation in female sports, the more females are just going to check out of sports altogether. Time will tell whether this prediction will hold true or not.

I don't give a **** about trans people competing in their preferred gender's sports if they can somehow prove they're on meds to suppress competitive disadvantages. Not sure how you do that without forcing open people's medical files and that's a big no-no.

I think part of the reason that these issues draw attention is that the trans ideologues demand we all play along with a kind of mass psychosis.
People erroneously compare it to gay rights which are mostly about being left in peace. For example, gays want and should have imo, the right to adopt. But they do not demand that everyone pretend that an adopted child is biological and that one of the fathers had morning sickness, etc.
This movement demands that we allow men to play women's sports and say things we know to be false. Like, men can give birth.
While these are not earth shaking events, this touches on deeper issues. For one, it is an act of submission to say and pretend to believe things that almost everyone knows to be false because an ideology demands it. Imagine Catholics saying you are a bigot unless you say that wine is literally Jesus's blood.

Imagine Catholics having the power to fire you if you deny the wine is blood, to sue you if you hire a Catholic and allow people in the workplace to claim Mary wasn't actually a virgin, to expel you from school if you deny every person is born in sin, and that would be a closer picture of what trans activists are actually working for.

I tried for the USA with something like 900+ big crowd riots from the left since 1946 vs Jan 6.
We basically never have 5k+ neonazis or similar wreaking havoc in cities, like ever.
We had hundreds of students, unions, race riots in the west, each and every one of them predicated on leftist values.
Again aside jan6 what's the last urban guerrilla scenario where the crowd was blatantly rightwing you remember? There were some left v right street fighting episodes in Italy.

I asked for counters, give me the rightwing equivalent of BLM riots, hot summer riots, 1968-69 and 1977 student riots, strikes that ended in riots, yellow vests riots, anti-WTO riots and so on.
