Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
This Week in Jihad. Watch it, and cope.

Listened to a real interesting Sam Harris podcast on the topic of urban warfare. And he brought in an expert of urban warfare, a gentleman who spent 25 years in the military including 2 tours in Iraq; and then transitioned into a civilian career teaching urban warfare at West Point. And as part of his research he has intensively studied every urban battle that has happened in the modern era and gone to pretty much every hotspot to study th

So hamas want urban warfare and high body count

Why does netanyahu so determinedly give the enemy what they want?

Well, the Netanyahu regime declared war on Hamas and said their objective was to use military force to remove them from power and rescue the hostages. I am not saying this strategy is going to achieve those ends, but all indications are the regime is at least attempting to do exactly what was promised.

There is no indication the Netanyahu regime cares at all what Hamas agenda is, or how they may be facilitating it.

Also, I think it may be a mistake to just place everything on Netanyahu. He is the figurehead of a coalition, and is one of the more moderate members of it, for good or bad. Part of his cabinet are openly calling to turn Gaza into the WB, controlled by Israel with Jewish settlements.

400 mile of tunnels, built with billions of aid that was earmarked for the people of Gaza. And not a single civilian allowed in. In fact the exact opposite, they demand the people go where the fighting is heaviest.

And these are the heros the student protestors are cheering for. The moral confusion and depravity is astounding.

Pure jungle fever inspired her conversion/ reversion.

Vic said it's the Israelis that gleefully kill their own people. He's really out there tonight, folks.

Well NOW Rafah gets the worst possible outcome, and Bibi gets the best possible outcome.

I get why Biden did it. But the world is going to be surprised by the net outcomes.

Biden playing both sides will cost him

Biden playing both sides will cost him

Nobody is happy really. He's mistaken if he thinks the students will vote for him. At best they don't show up to the polls unless the democrats have an epic plan to rally the vote (around other domestic issues). I think Trump wisely says nothing on the issue. Just let this turn into low turnout for the dems.

Shapiro may exaggerate at times, but he's not wrong here

I'd say that's pretty close. It's definitely full on proxy time. Iran will stay quiet though (to keep the USA out of it).

Biden's foreign policy instincts are consistently terrible and they are once again on display here.

It is ben shapiro so not to be taken too seriosuly. Sounds ridiculous.

Biden is struggling. he seems to genuinely not want loads more people to die but he also probably knows that stopping netanyahu is imposible unless israel gets rid of him

If I can correct an error here.

This notion of stopping Bibi is a bit of a fabrication. No Israeli government stops short of Rafah (this isn't my opinion it's fact). No Israeli government goes back to Gaza being run by Hamas the way it was Oct 6th. Not Gallant, not Gantz, not Lapid either for that matter. Everyone ends Hamas in operational power as the central mission of their government.

Let's talk about the version where you don't:

Sinwar comes out of his hole, claims victory. He still has hostages, he got Israel to stop short of their goals, Hamas continues to rule. He gets the international courts fiascos, student protests, historic abandonment of Israel by their biggest ally, the statehood vote. And then to top it ALL off, he gets immense pressure on Israel to just accept Palestinian statehood (as a reward for Oct 7th). And all so that this fighting can continue so we can go deeper towards the river/sea.

Not gonna happen. That is literally the worst case for Israel, but oddly enough long term it's also the worst case for Gaza too.

Btw did you guys see the Hamas counter from the other day ? The one where they said 'we accept' in the media, but then actually made a counter so ridiculous nobody could possibly accept.

These guys wanna trade BODIES. And in intervals of weeks.

They've attacked the aid corridor almost daily, the crossings for aid, and the American docks for aid. I mean bros....come on.

bodies is what they have left

Could be but when people say nothing else is possible it's rarely true in my experience. Eventually soemthign else is going to have to happen and maybe soemone would go for it before another massacre.

The idea netanyahbu will stop at rafah is also a pretty hopeful one.

they agreed to a deal endorsed by the USA and which negotiators said had "minor" changes.

we all saw that. we all read about it in Haaretz.

the reason they are trading bodies is bc Israel killed most of the detainees.
