Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
Just ban Victor and this thread will dramatically improve. He makes it impossible to have a civil conversation.

Schlitz mmmm has been temp-banned for posting in this thread after being told to take a break, and for those posts being clearly inappropriate (all now deleted).

so what now would be a permabannable offense if that wasn't???

yep.....but they won't

Vic should have his own rules maybe or treated the same as everyone else

It’s possible Vic is able to violate the rules without “violating the rules” so maybe he needs his own set of unbreakable rules

Friends, Victor is literally on a timeout right now. Lets all relax and get back to the content

content eh?

well we got Joe Biden doing blood libel again.

will the mainstream media say anything about this heinous lie?

being slightly serious, I remember how much the media created an entire industry out of whining about Trump's lies. this is worse than anything Trump ever said.

How does the "mainstream media" or anyone know that what Biden said was a lie?

I have no idea if it is the truth or not, but it's awfully tough to prove he didn't see such a photo.

In his statement, the ICC prosecutor, Karim Khan, says:

This are two hostages hamas took

Look at the fear in the children's eyes

Idf found weapons in another UNRWA facility. Can UNRWA be charged with war crimes?

Idf claims it killed terrorist Zaher Huli (also known as "Abu Hamed"), who held roles in Hamas's military wing and the Hamas Police in central Gaza

A Palestinian Islamic Jihad tactical-level commander was also eliminated in an aerial strike in the eastern Rafah area with three other terrorists from the organization who engaged in close combat with IDF soldiers, the IDF later announced.

So am I getting it right, Iran is blaming malfunctioning for the helicopter?

So am I getting it right, Iran is blaming malfunctioning for the helicopter?

At the moment, yes

But they are investigating

by Victor P

lol both sides!

It is very much both sides in this case. The ICC's chief prosecutor is applying for warrants against three Hamas leaders and Netanyahu, on the charges specified. A bit unfortunately for Victor's usual line of argument, the prosecutor is convinced that rape and sexual violence were in fact committed by Hamas on Oct 7, along with hostage-taking, murder and all the rest of it. Meanwhile the prosecutor would like a word with Netanyahu over extermination tactics and the use of starvation as a weapon, among other issues.

We don't yet know, of course, whether the court will agree to issue the warrants.

It was a very old American helicopter, basically a Huey, and one former Iranian foreign minister has tried blaming the US for its spare-parts embargo on pre-revolutionary US aircraft operated by Iran. Although a catastrophic technical failure is possible, the weather conditions and terrain suggest that the pilot simply flew blind into a mountain in fog. Several observers have pointed out that Iran's ruling elite are extremely stupid, uneducated and over-entitled men (and I do mean men), easily capable of ordering and expecting a pilot to fly in conditions where it really wasn't advisable.

Why didn't the three 'copters take a similar route?

by jalfrezi P

Why didn't the three 'copters take a similar route?

We don't yet know. Maybe they did, but the other two pilots added more safety height, had a better sense of their position (and therefore of maximum local terrain height), or even had a chance sight of the ground through breaks in the fog. (Fog is simply cloud that's nearer than usual to the ground.) It's even possible that the accident pilot was trying to 'taxi-hover' and go slow in the fog, and the president in the back, with an official ceremony to get to, was becoming impatient and irritable and telling him to get a move on.
