Do Horseshoe/Paris/Wynn all have reliable WiFi for playing online tournaments at the table while playing live?

Are you allowed to use a laptop at the table, or phones/tablets only?

How cold is it inside tournament areas?

Cool but not icebox cold in my experience so far.

It's usually pretty cold first thing in the morning, but once all the warm bodies pile in it warms up pretty quickly to the cool-not-cold level. Haven't been yet this year (arrive on Thursday - can't wait!) but I know last year I usually started the day wearing a warmer hoody and then changed into a lightweight long-sleeved pullover after a couple hours.

A couple months ago a guy was stabbed in the neck on the casino floor at the Muckleshoot (near Seattle). He died on the floor. The casino put up partitions around the body as the police investigated. The table games just 30 feet away did not miss a hand. The greed by casinos (and patrons) can be disgusting in such situations.

I’ve seen this happen, with sheets instead of a partition. Unseemly as it is, this is a little different than the situation at the WSOP. In that case nearby players didn’t have a choice to leave.

This is also somewhat different than the situation at the WSOP. Perhaps even worse. In any case, we see this happen all the time where bystanders just watch or film life-threatening events occurring. This is probably made worse by the handful of circumstances which are widely reported where someone who tries to help is a) killed themselves, or b) sued by the people they are trying to help or c) charged with a crime by the government.

If you register on bravo, can you show up late and receive a full stack, or will you be assigned a table at start of tournament and be blinded out until you arrive?

I am flying in day 1c of the colossus, and would be happy to avoid the late reg lines.

It was pretty cold in the bowels of one of the Horseshoe rooms. Not as bad as the old Pavilion could get though.

Contrast this with a tournament I was playing in Harrah's Tunica in the mid 2000s. Guy had a heart attack and they stopped the tournament and cleared the room. Not sure what life-saving measure were needed, but they wheeled him out on a stretcher and he survived.

If you register before the tournament starts, your chips will be in play and blinded off. It doesn't matter if you live reg or on Bravo. If you register after the tournament starts "late registration" you will receive a full stack. They are keeping the 5 & 10 seats chips in the well.

If this is the 1st tournament you are playing and you register on Bravo you will still need to go to the WSOP FasTrac in the Champagne ballroom to confirm your payment method and get your seat card. I you play any more tournaments using the same payment method, you can print your seat cards at one of the kiosks.

I have played in both Paris and Horseshoe, I feel like Paris is colder, it's probably just feels warmer in Horseshoe because the tables are very cramped. Neither were bad for me, but I'm fat 😃

As someone coming to Vegas and the WSOP for the first time. On the first night I arive, I would like to get everything done in terms of registration to be able to play the first tournament on the next day.
What are the steps? I need to get a Ceasars reward card and then create a WSOP account? THen I can deposit money into it and use the kiosks? Did I miss a step?

Those are the steps.

The Caesars rewards desk out in front of the Paris Ballroom area closes in the early evening. If you arrive after it’s closed, you’ll probably need to go to one of the casino cages to get your card. I don’t think the WSOP cages can do that for you, but I’m not 100% certain.

As for registration, you can register in person at the WSOP cages in Paris 24-7. If you are there in the evening and there is no line (or a short one), you can save yourself the $3 kiosk fee and just register for the next day at the WSOP cage. Or, like you said, you can deposit to a tournament account and then register using that on the bravo website or app for any event. To open an account, it’s a minimum $2500 deposit. Deposits are made in the same room as tourney payouts. There was a little confusion about this, but I think ongoing deposits in that room are also minimum $2500. But I think you can make deposits < $2500 on the tournament registration side of the cages with a supervisor’s approval if you already have an account. You can deposit as many times as you want, but only withdraw once prior to the end of the series. Funds can remain in the account for up to 3 years, if memory serves.

Nobody cares about Covid its over!! The situation in the Poker world regarding covid is "Nobody gives a Fu#* " The only people who care are paranoid, mentally scared people who don't have a clue. If you are scared of Covid, Sars, RSV, Flu, etc... then stay home the rest of your life in your bubble and you will be safe and won't get any of the aforementioned. But God Help You.

As far as getting your Caesar's Rewards card goes -- if you arrive in the evening past the time the WSOP CR desk is open, you should be able to find a machine/kiosk in the Caesar's Rewards area that will print out your card. It takes your driver's license and prints out the card. If you never had a CR card before, you can register for one online and then print it out at the kiosk when you arrive. This worked for me in the Horseshoe in Blackhawk Colorado. I would look for the main Caesars Rewards desk in Paris or Horseshoe for the kiosk.

He's not wrong though. Unless you're over 65 or in compromised health, I wouldn't worry too much about it. With the initial 2 doses and multiple boosters, getting COVID should not put your life in jeopardy or even cause severe illness except in very limited instances. COVID just isn't something the vast majority of male poker players worry about in 2024. It just isn't.

I'm actually amazed I came home from Vegas this year without getting sick. Got COVID last year or the year before (don't recall) and almost always seem to get the "Vegas cough" or some such ailment.

Perhaps he is not, but the tone with which he answered was unwarranted though ; this thread has been amazing with peeps chiming in and being extremely helpful. The last thing we need is to politicize an issue and/or get at each other throats. My 2 cents 😉

I would also add, if someone else is afraid of Covid (not to say Dr Meh, is… his reason for asking the question are his own), then I’m not sure what purpose it serves to get triggered. When the government starts forcing people to act a certain way, then people can worry about Covid hysteria. Until then, I say live and let live. If people want to be afraid, then fine. If they are 100% care-free then fine. And if they are like the vast majority… somewhere in the middle. Then that is fine too.
