I would also add, if someone else is afraid of Covid (not to say Dr Meh, is… his reason for asking the question are his own), then I’m not sure what purpose it serves to get triggered. When the government starts forcing people to act a certain way, then people can worry about Covid hysteria. Until then, I say live and let live. If people want to be afraid, then fine. If they are 100% care-free then fine. And if they are like the vast majori

Maybe he's asking cause he just doesn't want to get sick? I'm a healthy guy and I'm not worried about dying from Covid, but at the same time it also just sucks to be sick during WSOP.

Exactly this. I don’t like getting sick. If I’m sick, I can’t go to work, I don’t feel good when I’m sick, and I have a wedding to go to the day after I return that I’d rather not be sick for.

I’m not worried about dying from COVID because it is statistically highly unlikely. I just don’t want to be sick.

Understood. But being around thousands of people in relatively cramped quarters introduces a higher chance of getting sick. This can happen in a tournament. Or in the lobby of the hotel. Or in the airplane.

if getting sick is a big concern because of the wedding, then I’m not sure playing in the WSOP is a great idea.

Does anyone know what time the daily deepstacks typically end (1 pm, 4pm, 8pm). I’ll be arriving the day before the main event and want to get loose playing them, but not if I’m staying up past 2 am to win one.

I'll be wearing a mask -- on the airplane and in the airport and at the table. I also wear a mask on the subway and commuter trains. Not so much out of fear of Covid-19, but just as a general good idea in large groups of strangers who may have colds, flu, or who knows what germs. I'm generally the only one, but that's fine. Mask at the table is an advantage, I think, so why not? Not asking anybody else to mask up, but if you've been watching the streams of final tables, there is often somebody at the table wearing a mask. No big deal. I'd be happy to not come home sick from Vegas.

Oddly, all 3 end somewhere within a couple hours of each other, because the later ones have less play. Obv a lot depends on how big the field is, but I've never run deep and it was over anywhere near 2 am. The times I ft'd I got knocked out around 3-4 am. I imagine they finished or got chopped about an hour later.

I played MYSTERY MILLION & flights of Gladiator , on average less than 2 out of 10 wearing a mask.

I was surprised in the middle of new warnings of Covid.
If you are comfortable please wear the mask.

It serves double benefits . Against any viral disease and help you to hide behind the mask !!

I played the 10pm $130 landmark satellite and I was done about 130a. The 1pm was down to like 50 players, the 4pm was down to 3 (more turbo), the 8pm still had almost 100. So the 4pm (or 10pm) is prob your best bet.

People can do whatever they want to feel safer. I take tons of vitamin c when I’m at the WSOP. I’m not sure to what degree it helps, but it makes me feel better to do so and there’s probably little (though not 0) harm. Wearing a mask is the same.

No one wants to get sick. But if getting sick comes with additional negative impacts for whatever reason, it seems like boarding an airplane and going to a place congested with humanity isn’t the best idea.

I disagree with the poster who said no one cares about Covid anymore. That is certainly not true. But where I do agree with his general sentiment is that it’s probably unproductive to be preoccupied with the risk at the WSOP. It is what it is. One can look at CDC trend charts or statistics to whatever degree they want, but if a person wants to be 100% certain they don’t get sick at the WSOP, then they shouldn’t attend the WSOP. Anything below 100% represents some risk and the notion that we have a whole lot of control over it is where we sometimes go wrong. There’s a whole lot more randomness and variance to life’s outcomes than people want to believe. As poker players, you would think we’d be more keenly aware of this, but even with us, there’s a really strong prevalence of belief that we can control outcomes. That may be true on the margins, but that random ace from space or gut shot can ruin anybody’s day.

Anyone have a good laundry service recommendation? I'll be out for 2 weeks and won't use the $$$ hotel services. I also will not spend 1/2 a day sitting in a laundromat. I found a service called Push Laundry - does anyone have any experience in getting clothes washed while on the strip? I'm staying in Paris this year.

TIA!

Just back from an 11 day low roller trip to Vegas - played 2 small wsop (1100 2-7 landmark 24th out of 102 - paid 9) and 250 horse), 5 golden nugget, 2 orleans and 1 southpoint - mostly mixed games and small low limit omaha high and o/8 cash. Only 1 small cash at Orleans 200 O/8 event.

I went last year after a 3 year hiatus. No one was wearing masks so I didn't either. Despite having had all the shots and boosters I caught covid on day 4 or 5 and suffered flu like symptoms for the rest of my 10 day trip. Pretty much spoiled the trip.

Decided that from then on I would wear a mask whenever I played poker. At my local there are only 2 or 3 others doing so.

This year was much the same mask wise. In most places I (and a few dealers) were the only ones wearing masks, My choice and I don't really care what anyone else thinks.

As a sidenote I found it statistically improbable that at one tourney at the Golden Nugget where there were 3 of us wearing masks out of a 150 or so field. At one point we were all at the same table.

As someone coming to Vegas and the WSOP for the first time. On the first night I arive, I would like to get everything done in terms of registration to be able to play the first tournament on the next day.
What are the steps? I need to get a Ceasars reward card and then create a WSOP account? THen I can deposit money into it and use the kiosks? Did I miss a step?
Cheers

In addition to the other advice provided, I'd suggest getting a lay of the land that first night so that everything goes smoothly when you start playing. There are 4 different locations where tournaments are held, and your table can be in any of them. Well, at least in 3 of them for the bracelet events. The daily deepstacks are held in the 4th location. There's a map located in the WSOP area in Paris, and there are hosts that are more than willing to answer any questions. You should also go to each of the rooms and see how the tables are numbered. Each section in every room is color coded as well, so look to see how that is organized. This will save you some potential racing around and a lot of stress when it's time to find your table.

Also find out where the places to eat are that you'd be interested in. There's a food court with fast food below the Horseshoe Event center tournament area. You can take the elevator down or the staircase. There's also a wide array of places to eat in Paris, but they're not inexpensive. And of course there's countless places outside of the Horseshoe and Paris, of all varieties. Try to figure out where you might want to eat on dinner breaks, and what you want to do on the shorter breaks. Oh, and finding where the bathrooms are is also key!

Since casinos can run very cold from one minute to pretty hot the next, definitely pack clothes so you can dress in layers.

Good luck on your first trip to the WSOP, and enjoy!

I’ve used AJ Laundry Star in the past. They picked up and delivered to the Horseshoe. It was like $1.50/lb with a $30 minimum, but that was more than a year ago. Prices may have gone up. It was fast and convenient and in the 3 or 4 times I have done it, there were no issues with quality.

I would add, in the past I have both left my clothes in a laundry bag with the bell hop desk at the hotel and had it delivered back the next day and picked it up at the bell hop desk. I remember the last time I did this, there was some confusion about this as the folks at the bell desk said they were told they should not allow this anymore. You can always hand deliver the bag to AJs at the front of the hotel and go down and pick up the delivery yourself if that is case now. It’s not as convenient, but still ok.

Nobody cares about Covid its over!! The situation in the Poker world regarding covid is "Nobody gives a Fu#* " The only people who care are paranoid, mentally scared people who don't have a clue. If you are scared of Covid, Sars, RSV, Flu, etc... then stay home the rest of your life in your bubble and you will be safe and won't get any of the aforementioned. But God Help You.

There is no god. And if there were, he sure wouldn't help a nasty little tw*t like you. Nobody in this forum, or any forum, needs participation from somebody like you. Unless it's a forum strictly for right-wing conservatives losers. I think you would fit right in there. Bye!

Opening up the Pandorra box of politics and religion again is not exactly what this thread needs though... I think going back to posing and answering questions selflessly and respectively is more what the doc ordered

If you just want to knock the rust off, go ahead and play the cheapest one for several hours. When you're ready to go, try some crazy stuff you're afraid to try in your usual tournaments. You either get knocked out or lots of chips.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like finding a decent service isn't going to be too difficult.

You are correct. I expect/expected my posts to be deleted. I just wanted to hurl **** at that douchebag, even if it wasn't really the smart thing to do. My apologies.

Gotcha and understood, thx for rethinking it through bro

PokerGo using some old drone footage for their B-roll...did they get this from Trooper?

Where are the Landmark mega's being held? In the Versailles tower?

In the Normandy and Provence ballrooms which are accessible via escalators next to Nosh and the Versailles Tower elevators.

If you register before the tournament starts, your chips will be in play and blinded off. It doesn't matter if you live reg or on Bravo. If you register after the tournament starts "late registration" you will receive a full stack. They are keeping the 5 & 10 seats chips in the well.

If this is the 1st tournament you are playing and you register on Bravo you will still need to go to the WSOP FasTrac in the Champagne ballroom to confirm your

Are FasTrac lines separate from the general registration lines? Thinking about flying out that Sunday for the last flight of the Colossus. But I wouldn't be at Horseshoe til noon. If I sign up online (new account), then register when I arrive. Would that be more optimal than just standing in the main registration line? Or, would it be the same wait in either line?
