SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)
I'll provide more details and examples in the thread in the morning, but this should be enough info for you to /in and join so we can play.

There is another way I could see it going sideways, which I think you probably know what that is.
Alternatively there's c8, which hits 2 things but is no chance of a shadowfax.
I mean c10 is exactly 2 things and b5 gets the right one after they do the wrong one so if we wanna guarantee in <= 2 we go that way
C8 a different version of c10 so same strategy
But c10 is actually correct while c8 isn’t; c8 is c7 while c10 is c10
If they somehow don’t know or think about c7 then I’m not sure how we come back before game ends
If we do c10/c8 then we def get another round or two this game
It all makes perfect sense

Anyway, I'm fine with c7 if you're sure the'll get it. I happened to know it, but I can guarantee you it's pretty shadowfaxy for non-Americans, and it could potentially go another way imo.
I like c10 the best bc c7 does have some danger
U think so d1? I was born in Europe and only know c7 because of there, not actually from US
I'm plenty familiar with c7 and I've never been to Europe.
Will be funny if it's a different c7 - which while playing this game I've definitely been surprised thinking people are talking about the same word and they're not haha

I think both c8 and c10 should get it for sure now. I'm slightly more concerned about c7, but it prolly works anyway. I think anybody can feel free to bold something at this point.

Thought maybe then C10 would be champagne, but that’s C9 and unmentioned. So maybe the wine track I’m starting to go down isn’t right.

The way AE talks about it makes me think its some form or pastry pie or pudding. But that doesnt really fit

Eh i think its closest in a food stuff of sorts- and AE is implying a european one, but, my assumption ks its a word with two meanings
