From a strategic point of view for the democrats would it not be better if Biden stepped down today when he speaks to the people? That way Kamala would be the incumbent running the country
No, I think Dems have to use the same strategy they used before last election, but with kamala instead of biden. They have to minimize her time speaking in public.
The more she talks the less voters will like her - remember 4 years ago there was excitement when she announced she was running, but dem voters got to know her and that resulted in her having to drop out of the race.
If biden steps down that would force more opportunities that kamala has to talk. Now dems have to hide both biden (so repubs don't try to force him out as they see more evidence of his decline) & kamala (so she has a chance in Nov).

Harris in a 1 on 1 setting is extremely skilled at handling her business. She couldn’t juggle her talking points with defending himself against multiple people coming at her on stage and crashed

Why do you think protests against businesses/the man can be compared to; hunting down the vice president and the speaker of the house in order to kill them + telling the Vp not to certify an election , preventing the peaceful transfer of power?

Is police brutality a political issue? Were only democrats at those rallies? Did white supremacists and/or police incite any of those riots? Were any of those riots direct attacks on our nation's government in an attempt to stop the certification of an election and enact a fake elector scheme to overturn the will of the voters?
No one on the left thinks those riots were good nor should they go unpunished. We don't call those riots "guided tours." And we don't vote for people that incited them for president.

They slammed their feet to lock everyone down and stay at home summer of 2020. Guilt tripping young people about how dangerous covid was.
Until those protests happened with giant crowds. And then suddenly covid wasn't important anymore because their voting constituency was doing the covid spreading. Can't make them mad, might lose some votes!

Yes it would be much better for Kamala.
What the people here blame Biden for is mostly inflation. Cost of living went way up after Covid. Regardless of how well Biden handled it, it has still affected many Americans badly especially older people who are retired or people in the middle class who missed the massive wage increases for minimum wage workers.
If Kamala were President for the next 5 months people would associate her with the complete drop in inflation that is now happening. I think it would also be helpful for the men who are sitting on the fence to see that she would handle the Presidency just fine.

But the other would be to cause chaos in the election without there being a way for whoever is nominated to be able to be known nationally.

First, if she's acting pres, she gets heat for negative stuff that might happen.
Second, she can focus only on her campaign and not presidential duties.
