Welcome to the official WPT Global thread!
WPT Global is the real-money online poker business of the World Poker Tour, and we’re about to celebrate our two-year anniversary, having launched in April 2022. After such a short time, we’re already the third-largest online poker room in the world (ranked by PokerScout.com, based on cash game traffic).
We’re joining TwoPlusTwo to share information with you, engage with the community, and answer any questions you might have.
WPT Global is special for a few reasons:
- Our modern platform has been built from the beginning to leverage AI technology. We use this in two main ways. The first is to protect the games by detecting collusion, bot use, RTA use and other forms of cheating extremely quickly. We have the best Game Integrity tech I’ve experienced in my 19 years in the industry, and a team of around 50 people using it.
- The second way we utilise AI technology is in managing our ecology. We ensure that games are sustainable and beatable by reserving seats in every game for casual players and limiting the number of seats per table that can be occupied by highly skilled professionals. I’ll go into more detail on this point later, in the below FAQ, but the net result is - we have the softest cash games you’ll find online, and typical win-rates for regs are 5-10x higher than elsewhere. (If you don't’ believe me, just try them and see for yourself).
- We have had a large liquidity pool from the very beginning, especially in cash games. This is because we partnered with a couple of successful Asia-facing poker rooms to bootstrap their liquidity. Most poker startups face an enormous challenge in growing their liquidity from scratch - this solution allowed us to launch with cash games running 24/7 and it contributes to our soft player pool. Now, WPT Global is a large poker site in its own right and less dependent on the Asia liquidity, and we’re growing our games in US Dollars all the time.
- There is enormous value on offer - our explicit aim is to pay back more to players via promotions and giveaways than any other site. Check out our current promotions here.
- Global Spins is our unique twist on the Jackpot SNG concept, with a progressive jackpot and the lowest rake in the industry (5%).

Some of you might remember me and my colleague WPT Global Peter from our previous roles. Many years ago, I was one of the first site representatives ever to engage with the 2+2 community, as the first PokerStars representative in the ‘PokerStars Software Improvement Thread’. Later, Peter and I ran the ‘Official MPN - Microgaming Poker Network...’. You can expect a similar level of transparency and responsiveness here. While I don’t promise to respond to every single thing, no constructive question or criticism is off limits.

What countries is WPT Global available in?
Currently, we have a .com licence and have not entered any regulated markets (although we will start to do so later this year). We’re open to most markets that have yet to regulate, including Canada (except Ontario), Ireland, New Zealand and most of Latin America, Asia and Africa.
We don’t (yet) accept players from the US, UK, Australia, Russia, and most of Europe. If you’re from one of these countries and want to qualify for WPT events then Club WPT might work for you!

How does the ecology management system work? Do you ban winners from playing at WPT Global?
Our ecology management system is specifically designed so that we can run sustainable games without having to penalise winners.
In cash games, our AI technology measures the skill level of every player and predicts their win rate. The model is highly accurate and continually updates so that it cannot be abused or ‘gamed’.
We reserve a number of seats at each cash game table for players that fall into one of our ‘casual player’ categories. In our most popular game (8-Handed NLHE with an ante and a straddle) we reserve six of the eight seats for casual players, which effectively means that highly-skilled pros can only occupy two seats.
Because there is plenty of liquidity, if you find yourself categorised as a pro, you can still always find a game to play at any stake, and you can guarantee yourself a seat in a great game if you start a table, since our ecology management system ensures that only one other pro can sit with you.
The system does not categorise players by their actual win rate, but by how skilled they are. If you have a great run of luck, you will not necessarily be categorised as a pro, and vice versa, you will not necessarily be categorised as a casual player if you run bad.
We find that once players get used to the system, they love it. Both pros and beginners have a better experience because we eliminate some of the common predatory behaviour that occurs elsewhere, and pros can achieve significantly higher win rates. I encourage you to give it a try!
What’s with the games in CNY currency?
Because we partnered with Asia-facing poker rooms to launch, some of our games are in Chinese Yuan (CNY) currency. At the time of writing, the exchange rate to the dollar is about 7.25 CNY to the USD. As we’ve become less dependent on the Asian liquidity we have introduced more USD games. Most cash games and all tournaments including Global Spins are now available in USD, and for those of you that want to play in the CNY games, there’s a handy currency converter in the lobby, and the ability to change the stacks to BB.

Guys, very important question :
WPT Global is only a skin of some Asian poker network ( around 70%of traffic is from Chiina). Who know the actual name of the network? I would like to investigate an opportunity to play from asian skin. There are rumors that the name is "PokerKing Asia", however, for now i didn't find a pokerroom with such name in google. Am i bad at searching?

I noticed that the HSP label/filter has been removed today. Honestly, I don’t think it’s a good idea. You need to reconsider who will be the one that keeps your field and your environment alive.
I remember when I was playing on PokerTime. Just after a year, from a very crowded field, it went dead. There were only 2 or 3 tables left in the mid/high field, all full of regs with 7/7 same stat. This will happen if you don't p
And everyone who truly plays regularly on 25/50/100+ stakes can recognise that these stakes are quickly turning into ghost town with the number of players/table decreasing by least 50-70%, compared to before the change of fair game system recently, depending on the hours in a day.
Let me guess again why you dont know about this or not caring about the true traffic of the games in these stakes. The reason is obvious that at least 90% of burner accounts are playing 10/20/40 or lower (other players in these fields can confirm this) due to you incapacity and no desire to improve your game further because you’re too busy with spamming new accounts to go bump hunting on low/mid stakes. Because all you care is about profitting to the max in the shortest period of time whether the overall ecosystem can be sustained. And of course you do not care to improve your game or the challenge to climb up in the poker pyramid. And now you seem to care about “protecting recreational players” because guess what? You’re scarced to play against true grinders in your stakes again after winning so much in the past month. And with the change today, you have to battle against other HSPs again without your regular tactic. Am i correct? I will be truly sorry if you really play on these stakes and really care about the ecology over there.
Did i miss something? After they shadowbanned my usual stakes and after I made cashout, from today I can see all the tables. So I'm just wandering did they change rules or something and will that last?

I was restricted at 5/10/20 and 10/20/40 and now I can see all the tables again. Rightly so in my case.
Hello, since the agents boycott the platform from 1st of august, the traffic went down so they took an admistrative decision to show all tables to all players, because now it is not good for buisness for new regulars to see only 0/8 tables all day long, and probably hope that transparency might help the burner situation.

That screen, where he saw holecards is shady AF.
Look at the header of the table and in the middle of the felt of the table. There is no info about the table ( is it CG? MTT? Where is the name / ID ?

Does Player C receive's rakeback after? Is there a way to verify that? Will we have a report for all the tables we played and how much we raked per table?
I don't trust WPT here with transparence and overall there's always been bug's/error's + we never have any way to verify nothing.
About seeing all tables...This is 100% temporary. Maybe they just reset the list of labeled players to collect new data or something like that...

So all of sudden, there is someone who demands the reimplantation of the table hiding system who spoke nothing to adjust it before. But now when all the tables appear again, you right away give some suggestions about how to protect recreational players in 25/50/100+.
Let me make my educational guess, you should be someone who benefits a lot from the filter system. And who benefit the most from it? They are the people that abuse burner accou

Alex, please don't tell me that WPT Global has no solution against these spammers. I don't see this happening on any big sites like PS or GG. If you are so confident in your security team, you must take an act on this.
Alex, How about to make a super small HU rake and lower the 3-handed rake? I get why you made the RB for table starters, but it´s worthless at this point. It needs to be adjusted somehow, because this way there is minimal incentive to start the table for players, who are restricted (HSP).
All I can see every day is 7 handed table (or two tables) with 6-7 regs and one tight recreational. Even when there is a free seat, nobody will sit down for hours (or some reg sits and fill the table, others leave after some time and it´s again 7 handed). And I really don't understand, why nobody from Recrationals sits at the table...I mean nobody. It doesn´t make any sense other than they can't see the table

There is no table restrictions in micros, so they will all get RB?
Also if you are restricted on 1/2/4 but not on 2/4/8 or 5/10/20, do you get RB of that levels you are not restricted?

This is sad. I am sad. It makes me want to create a burner account and start again. Maybe I'll even play with a hud now since it's unpunished anyway. Make the most $ in a short space of time, withdraw, start again. Rinse, repeat.

Oh common, why on earth would you do that? I mean, it is pretty clear that WPT Global cares for and rewards good honest regs who are following rules, building the traffic on site, not bumhunting and grinding nice revenue for the company. Right, RIGHT?

Same issue here with the stake I do the best at (25/50/100CNY) - can only open sit but not join a single table since every table is hidden in the lobby. (from phone can see 6+ tables running)
For my higher stake 50/100/200 and above can play and see all tables (doing worse there too)
Not saying this is intentional but kind of hard to say that it's a random lobby bug that works exactly that way.
Would appreciate some insights on this 😀
Any update on this? I still can see all running tables from phone and 0-1 from PC. From phone I can also not sit any table that I can not see on PC.

Rakeback for table starters does the exact opposite for me, I used to jump often on 2 or 3 handed tables(it’s always « high skilled players of course »), now 0 chance i join 2 players knowing they gonna earn 20% all session long while i get jackshit for helping to fill the tables.
If a reg opensits and I sit down and they only play 1 hand, they should be reported.
If they dont want to play, let me play my button too and then leave. That should be fair, no?
I tend to agree IF tables worked as Alex has suggested. They do not and it seems having 2 regs starting a table makes it very hard to get any fish at all (perhaps they can't see the table)?
Others like CRABFISH have mentioned getting 7-8 regs per table; I believe table starting with 2 regs is a good way to get this nightmare rake loss situation to occur.
Haven't played in a couple weeks so don't know if anything changed, but this has been my experience as a table starter. If a rec doesn't sit, you will get 5+ regs.
Why isn't anyone concerned about the real problem a guy posting 2 million hands played on the platform, when WPTG specifically banned huds ? Does everybody know about the 100 plus players being given a warning for using huds ? 90 of them from the same affiliate probably colluding as well ?
