Looks like he ended up with a mouthful of nuts
You have three types of people who wrestle; the straightest edge hard nose ultra disciplinary types, the most ****ed up and degenerate individuals you could ever imagine, and those who quit.
I'll plead guilty right now!
what part of that clip made you think he was good? Or are you saying you believe we was a GR state champ (lol), I'm no olympic athlete but do have wrestling experience, you can tell mikki has little to no experience in that clip, he gave his back by falling backwards from neutral ffs
Mikki was trying to do a little duck under but they guy had all his weight on him and hes super strong so what actually happened is he stuffed Mikki into the ground
I didn't see anything that would tell me hes good at wrestling but he clearly has some neutral headlock experience
They would both wreck me and if I were taken down in the way the last round concludes I would likely weep on camera and be bedridden for several months
the fact that he was even willing to engage a guy that was obviously bigger and stronger, and probably younger than him says he at least has some experience. If he's saying he was state champ but in actual reality wasn't, then that just cements his sketch character.
Lex Poker was a national champ BTW and seems like a good dude as well as a badazz in the ring.
If you needed Dana White to tell you that Mikki is a fraud and a liar, then I don't know what to say. You probably think the WWE is real as well lol.
I was a state finalist in wrestling many moons ago and I can tell you there is zero chance that Mikki was a state champion. I was a damn good wrestler and I got smoked in the finals. Do you know how good you need to be to win a state championship in wrestling? Elite, and Mikki isn't that. Does he probably have some experience, sure, but like everything else the truth is seriously streeeeeeeeeeetched out. Mikki is like the DT of degens when it comes to the truth lol.
Mikki the kind of guy to attend a single chess summer camp at elementary school and then claim he was the u12 regional champion but quit because it was too easy for him. Bogus claims that are hard to review because records for that kind of stuff aren't rigorously kept anywhere.
Not defending Mikki at all, especially since he likely doesn't play in the WSOP, but how by any standard is the WSOP a good metric to measure skills?
Variance in tournament poker is ridiculous.
Unless if course you think Jamie Gold is one of the top poker players of the past 20 years.
... and for the same reason. A man like Mikki got a great empty hole right through the middle of him. He can never lie enough, or exaggerate enough, or con enough, to ever fill it.
We had a guy at our home game way back in the 80s a whole lot like Worm from "Rounders." Drugs, crazy, shady, everything. He was a former wrestler. I was way bigger and stronger and fell for the prop. He full nelsoned me once, tap, and put some kind of pretzel lock on me the other time, couldn't even tap, verbal tap. My neck wasn't the same for years. Then I saw him do it to two other guys. Just abused them. Later I asked him if he had said he was state champ. He said nope he was fodder for anybody like that. Levels, man. Always the levels.
Ya 100% this, takes like 3 days to learn basic grab the back of the neck, work arm control
He is lucky he didn't break his neck trying to do the summersault in clip one (if someone said that was a granby they would be laughed out the gym)
It kinda depends on the state. Where I grew up wrestling was huge. Other states, not so much
Also:
We had a 5A/4A/3A/2A/1A structure based on enrollment (I believe).
Anyways, its not impossible he could win state as a very mediocre wrestler depending on the situation.
Not in california which has 40million people
But the claim that Casino won't ban you for playing a winning game is pretty ridiculous.
APs get nasty back offs/trespassed every day of the week just for legally playing a winning game.
Mikki clearly isn't any of those things unless he was smashing the Bac side bets.
D.
most people view AP as cheating so i assumed he had that lumped in there
I assumed that Dana (or a friend he was with!) was counting which is why he was limited.
They probably didn't want to outright back him off because of bad publicity.
Though it is true that some places hate the variance even from long term losing players.
D.
when i was practicing counting, one thing i'd do to mix it up to break the monotony of it and try to better generate a real world environment was to find videos of people playing blackjack either online or in vegas
dana would often "collab" with various streamers for high stakes sessions so i've seen a few hours of his play
first of all, the streamers are complete idiots, doing things like wagering the max on side bets etc, and never having any clue what to do and are always stressed about whether to hit or stand and use standard fish results oriented analysis
perhaps it's just a performance for their audience - but those streamers genuinely don't know the first thing about AP nor even optimal play - which is wild that they'll sit down for 25k a hand and not know the first thing about optimal play just lighting money on fire - they see how cool and collected and confident dana is and they think he's just a god at blackjack and constantly ask him for advice - so i can see how they would idolize someone like mikki
dana always knows what he's going to do immediately with quick decisions and for the most part follows optimal strategy - when he hits on 15 vs a dealers T and it busts with a face card but then dealer flips over a 6 for 16 and the streamer goes "see Dana I knew you should have stayed because then you would have won" and he promptly but diplomatically dismisses that with "most of the time it's better to hit" - i imagine given his work, he's probably pretty used to dealing with stupid people on a day to day basis 😀
dana does not count at all, or at least not on stream, there's a bunch of times where the count turned favorable and he continued flat betting and even other times when it went deeply -EV and that's when he'd decide to up the size of his wagers and press
but he is very disciplined, he has a set goal for each session that's very attainable - ie he wants to be up 100k but they're playing 25k max so that's just winning 4 more hands than losing, he often quits playing early in the stream and then just hangs out with the streamer because he hit his target or reached his stop loss and put an end to the session - he's also obsessed with paying back markers immediately - so much that it's tilting even - ie he'll take 50k, wager max of 25k, win that hand, immediately pay back the marker so he's has 25k with 0 debt instead of 75k with 50k debt and then very next hand gets 88 so takes back a new marker less than 5 minutes after paying off the previous one and then of course one of the 8s gets a 3 and then he needs another 50k marker to double it, wins those and pays back those markers immediately and then 3 hands later needs new markers again
this constant marker payoff to hold a single wager in chips is a huge time suck, makes no sense to me at all as 90% of the time he's taking out a marker that he just paid back a minute prior, i believe he does it mostly because it prevents him from really dumping in money on a bad session where instead of having a big pile of chips which gives the illusion he's up for the session, he needs to repeatedly get that reminder "and i'm now another 50k in the hole" and he can get that visual reminder of how much he is down to keep him grounded
also, dana never drinks while he plays, the streamers get absolutely wasted though
he's definitely someone who invested the time to learn perfect play, i don't recall if he made mistakes or not (i think once or twice he went with his gut and deviated but he knew he was deviating), but for the most part did what i would have done - as far as degenerate gamblers go, he's probably one of the ones who will eat big losses but he's no watanabe
"Why, Johnny Ringo, ......"
FWIW Wagering max on side bets is the equivalent of splitting tens. Only idiots and Sharp players do it. Counting various side bets can have a huge edge. The play is often all or nothing.
D.
yes but something tells me aidan ross and stevewilldoit max wagering sides every single hand aren't doing it because they are sharp
Dana White said the side bets are losing money. He's pretty sharp at BJ.
why go from a house edge of 0.5% to one of over 8% doing side bets?
Mikki made an appearance on Streamer jack dohertys stream at 5AM. Claims he's always carrying a gun.
