2024 Fantasy Football Thread

Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of January. Through 95 drafts, my exposures are below. The player order is based on current ADP. Some of these ADPs have been quite fluid over the last 3 months, with FAs and rookies moving the most. Most of my exposures are structurally driven, rather than player take driven. Especially at this point in the game, pre-draft.

But there are some players I simply couldn't avoid going heavy on, like McBride and Andrews in the 5th round. I'm actually quite heavy all of the top TEs, minus LaPorta and Kincaid. I also tried to make sure I had at least 1 TE by the end of round 8, with Ferguson being the last of the group.

Also took approaches like attacking Nabers and Odunze harder than MHJ, at their relative prices.

What do we like and not like?

Rookie season is also upon us. Redraft is still 3.5 months away from heating up, but there will be rookie drafts, dynasty startups, and best ball drafts leading up until then.

Good luck to all, and may injuries and variance be kind.

I managed to only get 2% Pacheco, but at end of 3 pricing, so I got the worst of it, but luckily not a lot

DangerRuss just going to show us how it's done week 1!

It's a toss up between who I'm going to enjoy seeing fail more.

Russ or Rodg

Davis Mattek also breathes a huge sigh of relief.

And also for my 5-6% for Pacheco, most of which was at the 4/5 turn haha. Part of the Pacheco bull case was getting most of the passing work McKinnon vacated. Perine will likely be getting most of that.

Pacheco at the 4/5 turn was good. Where he is going now is horrific. The Chiefs do way too many gimmicky things near the goal line. It's funny how it was AOC then Prince then Steele. Nope!

I'd say this is a tiny spec of an upgrade for Mahomes. Perine is an excellent pass catcher.

Russ for me by far. I'm a Bronco fan so there is that. I also will continue to grab Fields in the last round when my QB's are mediocre. It will be fun to hear Russ spin his benching in a positive way.

Rodgers is my highest drafted QB at 14%. He is easy to back stack and a solid back up. I'd prefer he didn't fail but if he does I will enjoy it.

This makes it more fun week two when they go to Denver.

To each their own. I still think UD is far ahead of Drafters. I really hate how I can't separate the draft board from the player list on Drafters, since I primarily draft on desktop with multiple monitors. Players are color coded on UD too and very nicely organized.

I'd say the only perk that Drafters has over UD is the to see how many drafts each opponent has been in. But that's also only for the specific contest, since it tracks your entries sequentially by the number drafted.

I love the fact you can see both the draft board and the players. I get it for your purposes it's not so good. I love Drafters so much that I may do way more than the 200 dollars worth of drafts I was planning on. I just joined because of the 100 dollar bonus which is nice. Also, when there are no tournaments I like on UD I don't have to draft on dial up Draft Kings anymore. It's looking like it will overlay as well. The drafts seem pretty tough though.

I think their $15 flagship contest will have the most overlay of any contest out there.

I also noticed the $2 drafts were pretty tough, granted that was back in May.

I know the SpikeWeek community fires Drafters pretty hard.

Glad you’re talking about it though. Just realized I have a $15 ticket. Guess I’ll fire a bullet haha.

Oh great! Now you're gonna win.

I just had Justin Herzig drafting next to me. He went heavy RB early. He went 5 RB's in the first 8 picks.

I just noticed you can chat on there as well.

Haha I’ve hardly spent any time trying to learn this format, but you never know!

Wow, that’s quite RB heavy. Strong RB production from beginning to end seems more important in the season long cumulative scoring contests.

But WRs also still dry up pretty quickly. It’s a tough balance.

Liam has a free article on Beatbestball.com regarding cumulative scoring contests.

I found myself instinctively trying to correlate for week 17.

Better load up on the Falcons D in DFS week 1.

What round should Perine go in bbm? I took him in 14 after Herbert went in a Mahomes stack. Too early? Figure he’s so low owned there’s leverage there too

He went in the 17th on Drafters a little over an hour ago. CEH and Steele went in the 19th and 20th. He's probably going in the 16th maybe 15th now I would guess.

Rev do you feel more or less confident about Kene Nwangwu after the Vikings waived him? Looks like the Saints picked him up pretty quickly.

Perine went early round 18 on DK.

There are some sneaky good RB picks late in the draft. Perine, M Lloyd, E Wilson, and my favorite last round pick, Keaton Mitchell.

This could be another last round dart throw.

Noah Brown to Commanderd active roster . Do we think he can be fantasy relevant?

My gut is that he has a chance to beat out dyami

by mongidig P

Dayton Wade has been cut by the Ravens. I previously predicted with confidence that he would be this years Tank Dell.

He's back on the practice squad. This thing ain't over.

I forgot to mention Jordan Mason. Now Gurrendo is hurt again.

Guy at 12 could have had Mahomes/Rice at the 3/4 turn, but went with Mahomes/Diggs instead. Interesting.

Seems unnecessary if he’s going to name Jacoby the starter.

Maybe he is taking his talents to Miami.
