Patrik Antonius in Hall of Fame

This happened yesterday, but I didn't see anything here about it. In some ways it is good it is one a year. He and Rast really deserved it. Mostly a cash game player. Beating top players HU in the day. Apparently beating the Big Game at Bellagio, which is important to the HOF with so many regs from that game HOF voters. He hasn't played the WSOP much, but has wins in high rollers.

Supposedly, Miami John Cernato was number 2 and Isai Scheinbe

Stu Ungar's World Series of Poker Results?

I only got into poker three years ago and I consider him a legend. I wish I had been able to see him play when he was alive, but I was very young when he died and hated watching the WSOP on ESPN until a few years ago because I didn't know how to play and thought it was a stupid card game. Ungar is the GOAT in my opinion and Tom Dwan is just a wannabe copycat who will lose it all if he keeps playing recklessly in those high stakes cash games

Best poker radio or podcasts

Hello everyone, could you give me a few suggestions about what to listen to when I'm doing something or traveling and I want to listen to some poker related content. So in your opinion which are the best podcasts, live poker radio broadcasts or something similar to listen to? Thanks

Over $7 million juiced from WSOP ME. How to turn poker from a negative to a positive sum game.

Caesars Entertainment bested Jordan Griff to come in 2nd in the WSOP main event by raking $7,078,400 off the prize pool.

Niche activities like the Winter X games, Mr. Olympia, and World's Strongest Man contest are somehow able to produce shows and pay out prize money without entry fees. As poker players we like to think of ourselves as smart, but for whatever reason we get back less money than we put into our major events. Have the competi

Inevitably, Bots and Poker

Not going to leak information I just received but even in some of the biggest entries Bots are there I am hearing. Rumours of suspended accounts due to it at the highest level. So is this it now? Are we to live with bots? Can we ever beat them ultimately as they advance and is the future death of poker "on-line?"

Is there really any security method to screen them out?

P.S. I was talking with a professional poker grinder millionaire and he sai

Seems like movement away from NLHE

This is particularly true at higher stakes. There seems like much more PLO. At the Aria now in the Series, about half the tables are PLO. 15 years ago, there was hardly any PLO at the Series. PLO was popular in Europe and in some areas of the south. There are also bomb pot tables at the WSOP. There is more 5-card PLO, particularly in Maryland. Limit holdem seems to still be declining, but mixed games seem to be increasing. Also, limit 5-car

The Downfall of PokerStars?

I've been playing on PokerStars for close to two decades.

What in the world has happened to PokerStars support? You literally have to chat with an AI bot who can not answer the most basic of questions. There are no email addresses to email and they will not speak to you over the phone.

They've lost my business. If they can longer provide sufficient support on simple issues, can they actually still be trusted in the security of their games?

Former 2+2 Darling Jared Huggins Commits M*rder

Many of you will remember Jared Huggins, who was once active and somewhat beloved on the site under the username RelaxedPrecision. Countless posts were made about his exaggerated homelessness chronicles as he swindled money and stocked up on sympathy. His name might strike his chord if you ever saw the Free Hugs videos or rooted for him to win big on The Big Game.

Since then, he seemingly got his life together, settled down and started a fam

Bulletpoints:
1) Every form of online Poker is now made fully legal (right now its a gray area)
2) Monthly deposit limit of 1000€
3) Playerprofil every site needs to report to the authoraties that insures you don't deposit more then 1000€ per month

All in all not bad at all little bit worse since degens to punt of more then 1000€ at the table.

Is there a good source for 1990's WSOP Main Event Info?

I'm looking for specifics like end of day chip counts per player and lists of players for the event each year. I have a group of nine players and their chip counts and I'd like to know what year it was from. I've looked online but I'm not seeing anything that really has the info that I need and I've called Binion's and talked to several people but nobody really had much info or knew who would be good to contact. Does anyone know of a good o

Absolute Poker / Ultimate Bet victim remission

As Garden City Group is largely done processing Full Tilt Poker remission claims (most remaining work is in reviewing appeals), they have been authorized by the Southern District of New York to accept and process claims for former Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet players. Affected players can file for remission at www.absolutepokerclaims.com

View: The way to crush live nitfests nowadays games is being a good LAG or maniac

There is a player at my local casino who’s been nicknamed the Phil Ivey of our hometown. He is not a pro. He has his own business and a massive bankroll but I believe he is the biggest winner here. He doesn’t study solvers. He’s a really good “feel” player who is fearless and goes off his reads and punishes all the nit TAG pros who rely on solvers. None of the pros know what to input for his range for their solvers so they don’t know how to

Ethics of professional poker

Idk if this is where I should post those but wtf. This is an issue that's been getting to me more and more over years, and it's getting the point where I'm starting to question whether or not I can keep doing what I do and be ok with myself.

I've been playing for a living for a little over a decade now. For most of that time I didn't have any ethical problems with the predatory attitude necessary to maintain to ecosystem. This was largely be

****OFFICIAL NVG MODERATION DISCUSSION THREAD****

This has been requested in the past, and now it's here! As regular NVG users know, questions about moderator actions are usually told to PM the mod or post in ATF. Now, there's a third option - this thread. You can still PM the mod or start an ATF thread if you don't like the response/decision you received.

This thread is not for mod bashing, trolling, flaming, or general idiocy. But if you have a question about why X disappeared, or som

The 888poker situation

Why no one talks about what is going on with 888poker? They steal from customers, I really don't know how these guys still have a gambling licence. This is a site who have partnership with WSOP.

Hundreds of players have their accounts closed and their bankrolls seized with no explanations. 2+2 and the 888 reddit subs are filled with stories of distressed customers.

How do they proceed? Your account is verified for years but one day you

Poker Player Brad Booth stole ~$28,000 from Me

I recently had the misfortune of coming across brad booth via one of my friends. He was playing in some of the higher stakes games at the wynn, and Brad told him that he was looking to get back into playing online. At the time he had something like $50,000 on him, as a rough estimate that I was given by my friend. My friend had been hanging out with him a bit outside of poker and they had gotten dinner several times. I was relayed the infor

The luckiest run in WSOP main event history

Consensus seems to be Jamie Gold in 2006. He was basically the cheap leader from day 4 onward and had a run of cards that defied probability.

Do people agree with this?
