Netflix "Watch Instantly"
I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

It is over
I'm just three episodes in. I stopped so I can just binge them all together instead of waiting each week.
But I mostly agree with your sentiment. Season 3 plot is all over the place and not nearly as good as 1 or 2, BUT Gary Oldman is so good I'll watch every Slow Horses episode they put out as long as he's on it.
The actress who plays Tearney, the actor who plays Duffy and the other guy who's supposed to be a hard, as well as the gambling addict/coke addict duo are laughably bad and cringe.
I'm def in for the rest of season 3 though and whatever else they put out as long as Jackson Lamb and Taverner are out here styling
I started this while I waited for Slow Horses to finish and I'm loving it so. 4 episodes in and I'm definitely finishing this before Slow Horses, even though Slow Horses is done now. Great rec that I would never have found or given a chance otherwise. Thanks for that 👍
Awesome. Adding this to the list to watch when I'm done The Tourist
3 day/episode doc - TMZ presents: UFO Revolution started today, free on Tubi, it's good.
Tonight 6pm PST
Criminal Record - Apple (first 2 episodes)
Echo - Disney/Hulu (All 5 episodes)
Friday
Killers of the Flower Moon - Apple (possibly Thursday night)
Lift movie - Netflix
Sunday
True Detective - duh
Monsieur Spade - AMC
First episode of Criminal Record was pretty good.
Slow Horses looks like they only bring Oldman in for a day or two to shoot some cameos then finish the season with the rest of the cast. He is great in limited screen time but the plot lines and writers are pretty weak, the 'action' sequences are laughable.
Feels like it wanted to be much more but its really formulaic. Fans of shows like The Blacklist will probably love it until the weak plotlines wear them down.
Started on this but gave up about 3 episodes in. Can't say its bad it just didn't compel us to start a new episode after one ended. Wife didn't care for it and she will watch damn near any procedural series set in Europe for the scenery alone.
Anyone interested in a French spy series should pivot to Le Bureau. I think its still on AMC+
Highly recommend this. What a crazy story. And yes, the main dude in this story is pretty hateable.
I did 2.5 seasons of this. Solid show but lost interest too. Should prob go back and finish. Got a little redundant if I remember
Wife and I liked the new Bribiglia special. Clean humor can be pretty relaxing when it’s funny. Has some heart too.
Pretty sure the Untold docs have come up in this thread but worth a watch for sports fans. I’d probably rank them as: Manti Teo, Johnny Manziel, Trash Pandas, then And1. Liked them all.
Through 8 episodes of fargo s5 and it's surprisingly good given that the writers set themselves the task of writing a script where every woman is a badass and every man is either despicable or pathetic. It could have been far better if they'd been allowed to add some nuance but i guess that wasn't acceptable.
Just finished Killers of the Flower Moon. It was good but not that good, especially for 3.5 hours. lol
Lift on Netflix sucks.
Finished most of Echo, liking it so far and I am not a big MCU fan.
Criminal record is good so far.
I am liking the new Ted series on Peacock.
Finished Monarch, I never really liked it, not sure why I kept watching. lol
anyone stick it out with The Curse? finale was bonkers and (imo) exceptional
I swore this show off but there have been so many 3 letter descriptions of the finale that I’m gonna give it a shot! I’m completely over cringe work, but I might have one more in me haha
Can you watch the finale if you only watched the 1st episode and then quit?
That finale was one of the most bizarre things I've ever seen. I watched every episode, but I'm still just sitting here trying to figure out what this series was even about and whether it was good or bad.
i guess so, but imagine you'll think it's terrible and feel fully justified having quit after ep1 😀
I’ll give it 2 episodes since next week is fairly chill for me. I’ll look for a comprehensive video just to know what the deal is lol
I watched ep.1 when it came out and didn't really like it and quit the series.
Then last week I decided to binge episodes 2-9 and while not great, I did kinda like story threads that were developing and some of the random moments of awkwardness.
For me, the finale was terrible though and now I'm wishing I had just left it alone after ep. 1.
Over the last several days I binge re-watched The Haunting of Hill House. It was a nice trip down memory lane after recently watching The Fall of the House of Usher. The next stop is revisiting Midnight Mass. I agree with several in this thread that group is probably the best trifecta from Mike Flanagan.
Really good short film. God I love short films.
It’s not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but after 3 episodes, I’m annoyed that there’s no “series” in this “mini-series”. It’s just a season 1 if there ends up being a 2nd. The lack of an actual arc knocks it down an additional * or 2.
This was good. I also enjoy short films. And as I was watching I kept thinking that I know that voice of the narrator, which was Tim Blake Nelson.
A couple of years back I saw a trailer of a low budget film with Tim Blake Nelson called "Old Henry" but I never did end up seeing it. Has anyone seen the film "Old Henry" with an opinion on if it is work a bag of popcorn?
Old Henry is a good watch. Tim Blake Nelson is great. Loved him in the ballad of buster scruggs too.
