Netflix "Watch Instantly"

Netflix "Watch Instantly"

I just recently rejoined Netflix and was pleased to see they have added a "Watch Instantly" feature where you can stream a movie over the internet. The selection of movies/shows is subpar, but it's free baby! Well, free as in no extra charge. You can watch 1 hour for every dollar/month your subscription is and it doesn't affect your queued/shipped movies at all. Minuses are that you have to be running Windows and Internet Explorer, but the quality is great! I have a garbage laptop, but it looks the same as a DVD to me and it hasn't skipped/paused/hiccuped once so far.

If it were Netflix, they would have already cancelled it :-)

Netflix can't afford shows like Fallout.

I played Fall Out 3 and enjoyed it, but the setting was always too dark and depressing for me to invest another 30+ hours into another game in the series. The show managed the depressing atmosphere extremely well imo, with a good amount of comedy, spectacle, and some extreme violence. The plot was handled really well and the acting was great. Those 8 episodes flew by.

Saw X finally out on Starz, it was good.

so The Jinx 2 is coming out? How it possible the first Jinx was 9 years ago??

Baby Reindeer is a hell of a ride. It’s quite good and kinda depressing at times but it’s very well done. I saw a tweet from Doug Stanhope who said it was amazing, and he’s right. I never saw a trailer or anything. I just jumped right in. I did not expect a lot of what happened. Very well worth checking out.

Exact same here. Just started watching it w/o knowing anything.

Intense subject matter at times, but very well done.

Finished it in 2 sittings. Definitely one of the better things I've watched in awhile.

It’s the Beef of 2024

Didn't make it through Ep 1.
Of course Stanhope liked it, it's him and Bingo in Britian.

Finished Baby Reindeer. Part of it was boring, part of it was some ****ed up **** and part of it was deep and dark but good. Overall, I liked it but not loved it.

Finished 4 out of 6 of Parish with Giancarlo Esposito, it is watchable, and I will finish it but it's silly, the plot lines are not good.

btw, some crazy stuff in the story that came out recently about him being broke and almost bankrupt, and possibly planning to kill himself in a way that his kids could get money, right before he got the Breaking Bad role.

Fallout was a damn good time! Not that the production and set design wasn’t already awesome but it seems to be pretty bit hit so it’ll be interesting to see what they do with it in season 2. I don’t even remember the last time I fired up my PS5, but I almost want to jump back into FO4 after the show. I know that FO76 is newer but I wouldn’t that abomination if you paid me lol

Two docs on Max are pretty interesting. the anarchists - decent story. I kind of enjoyed the subjects of this doc, their stories and personalities. It's a lot of runtime, so I can't really recommend it. The story doesn't deliver when you're expecting some really crazy stuff to happen at the end.

The Synanon Fix - I'd heard of this group but didn't know much about it. The group kind of spawned all these teen discipline camps, school, and rehab places that were known for physical and emotional abuse. It has the charismatic leader who controls this huge organization like a cult.

First ep of the Jinx S2 is out. I don't know what left there is to report on this story, but I'll keep watching.

Haven't watched Jinx 2 though am excited to watch it.

I suspect it's just going to be filling all the details in on what happens after the bathroom scene from the original.

I'm assuming the entire process of getting the arrest and going to court and all that and getting all the reactions from everyone involved throughout.

Just finished the OJ doc.

I actually didn't follow the entire story too closely at the time as I was just a kid in high school and just assumed he was guilty based on the surface media stuff I caught later on.

It was interesting to watch and get all the details as an adult and see just how crazy it was that he got off.

New Neil Gaimen based limited series on Netflix looks good - Dead Boy Detectives. Should include some crossover from his Sandman series, which I thought was pretty good. Dropped last night/this morning, depending on timezone.

Man I loved EM's old movies back in the day.....48 Hours, Another 48 Hours, Beverly Hills Cop 1, 2, Boomerang, Coming to America, Trading Places, The Distinguished Gentlemen and then BAM! He hit a wall and I haven't liked anything since 1992

I wonder what happened? Was it me, him or something else?

Personally I make it to '99, to include The Nutty Professor and Bowfinger.

Bowfinger is a masterpiece!! And for what it was, Shrek is a fun watch. From that point to Dolemite, yeah… pretty rough. But he bought enough goodwill from the start that he’s probably on my Mount Rushmore of overall favorites. BHC3 is the only low point in his first 15-20 movies. Looking at his filmography, at least 4 of those are on my all time favorites comedies.

Bowfinger is a masterpiece!! .

Never saw it but just watched the trailer and Eddie was cracking me up so my expectations are up

Bowfinger is also one of Steve Martin’s best projects.

I tried an episode of Dead Boy Detectives, not really for me.

All 8 episode of season 2 of "Them" dropped today on Prime. It's a Horror Thriller Anthology. I never saw season 1 but doesn't matter. First 2 episodes are good, I'm in. Takes shape after the end of 2nd episode.

Oh, and Newman plays the police Lieutenant.

bowfinger is absolutely fantastic

never seen bowfinger

Bowfinger is a top-notch comedy & the two of them [and most of the supporting cast] are amazing to watch.

"Gotcha, suckers!"
