ex-President Trump

ex-President Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:

a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?

b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?

I thought he lost 2020 and Hilary lost 2016
And Biden will lose 2024

in all seriousness roc, i haven't done any hard data analysis, just reacting to the zeitgeist that was trump absolutely standing out as a unique candidate

If the Ds can just print fraud wins at will--why not this time? Seems like a no-brainer.

by metsandfinsfan P

This time the committees are asking the biden campaign to committ to debates so they can plan and be isn't

The Trump campaign didn't commit until August in 2020. I can't find a single example on an incumbent agreeing to terms in January.

DeSantis endorses Trump

That's true for most Republicans. Why should he be any different?

trump needs florida ?

Florida is pretty much red now.

Either vp or he wants to run in 4 years and thinks endorsing Trump is his better pathway

But the courageous thing would have been to say, "let's get our party back. Trump had some good policies but we need a uniter. Let's unite around nikki haley "

But assuming Trump wins, he obliterates desantis for 4 years for daring not to back him and he has no future i guess

Sad

I don’t see either happening Desantis is reduced to state politics now

Trump has gone on record that he willbdebate biden

I'm willing to bet anyone that biden will refuse to debate trump

How much would you like to bet?

it would be a perfect end for Trump to force Desantis to "officially" move out of the state of Florida in order to pick him for VP and then snub him/lose. can the governor of florida officially reside elsewhere while still governing? they'll probably write him a bill for that.

he's term limited. he can only try to unseat Rick "Medicaid Fraud" Scott or lil marco.

Doesn’t he still have 3 years left in his second term ?
I almost think his wife would be a better candidate. I do like him though always respect those that serve

We just got Mega Meepo'd.

I thought his policies were generally much closer to those of Trump than of Haley.

Nikki Haley taking it to Trump.

How ludicrous is it that after Trump saying Obama was the president,
which everyone knows is not true, every one applauds. It doesn't get any dumber.

Obviously, Trump "Can't handle the truth", he's the world's biggest loser; it bothers him
so much he's losing his mind. I'd like to see the results of a recent Trump cognitive test.

the pressure of all the court cases currently is adding an incredible
amount of stress to someone who's not good with handling reality

desantis was "trump without the crazy tweets", that every republican said they wanted so they sounded less bigoted.. but guess what, they LOVED the tweets and the rants. it was a major feature of Trump and they love it, they just dont want to say they love it outloud.

I don't really think so. Desantis actually did stuff. Like banning books.

Trump spent most of his time eating doritos in bed.

I agree.

DeSantis basically was offering Trump's policies without the tweets and juvenile insults, and probably without the same level of demagoguery.

But as Slighted just pointed out, a lot of GOP primary voters want the tweets, insults, and demagoguery.

https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2...

here is the people we're talking about.. this guy wants to say he doesn't like the rhetoric and he's about law and order and wants to vote Haley.. but when the interviewer questions him just a little bit, turns out he's a deep state conspiracy theorist, thinks jan 6. was a patrotic day and an FBI black flag, and just wants to own the libs with "accountability" for cheating in elections so he's actually now voting trump again.

republicans ARE trump.

Yeah turns out the intellectual heft propelling Trump minus the clown behavior ended up being nothing at alll but a weirdo Harvard law guy really into genital inspections and sexuality.

As it turns out, DeSantis was just an updated version of Ted Cruz -- that is, theoretically viable from a distance, but oily, plastic and repulsive upon closer inspection.

For better or worse, I have a pretty good idea of what it would be like to hang out with Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, Tim Scott, or Asa Hutchinson. Their personalities are accessible. I have no idea what it would be like to hang out with DeSantis or Vivek. DeSantis seems like someone who bought "Presidential Candidates for Dummies" and is trying to follow the advice to the letter. Vivek seems like a method actor who is preparing to play the role of a sociopath.

As pathetic as it is, Asa Hutchinson would be the least objectionable of that group by a wide margin.
