So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at low-info Boomers like my religions aunts. I have two questions:
a) Is anyone here who supports Trump bothered by lies like this?
b) Does anyone know what he's even talking about here? Like is there some grain of truth that he's embellishing on bigly?
twitter aside musk has prods forward the improtnat tech impressively. Add AI and MMI (neuralink) to the obvious. The commercial success is a seperate issue.

True, particularly when they blow up spectacularly, but it's not exactly new. Spacex was founded 22 years and and has been launching rockets for more than 15 years (and the fun rocket launching stuff is mostly still a money sink, it's only really the spacelink part of the company that is generating revenue). tesla is down the street and outside of a few fremont cars (same city)...i've not seen one local agency use them.

I agree with much of what others have posted, but I don't think anyone touched on the one thing I have the biggest issue with, which is his handling of Twitter, especially his use of it to feed into the culture wars.

This is like an intervention of sorts for me, which perhaps I need. Maybe it's a lesson that I shouldn't look up to anyone with more than a small amount of adoration. I dunno though...I tend to admire anyone with a lot of knowledge of the Earth sciences...what Neuralink has done for their first participant made me really happy....keep the Elon criticism coming, I find it as compelling as his praises, and I quite like figuring out when I'm in the wrong.

It's had a good few months but that has just taken it from being worth ~1/3 of what it was 3 years ago to ~1/2 of what it was. It isn't cratering in the way it was for a while but it's still not really growing.

i'm torn on whether i would want these type of interviews or not, like if you are going to platform him then you need to push back like the journalists did today. do actual journalism rather than just let him do his senile rambling thing where he talks about electrocuting sharks and showers having no water. you gotta be like "wtf is this dumb old guy talking about?"
if you make him whine and look weak and stupid and leave early like he did today then it has some value. but i also suspect his people will keep him away from real interviews from now on.
