Dude, I'm not re-litigating why Trump is quite obviously demented or why he has authoritarian tendencies with you. It's been discussed to death in this forum over the last 8 years. If you're unable to recall those discussions, most of which you participated in, that's a "you" problem.

If trump was every going to mess with democracy he would have done it during Covid and everyone knows that, but dems are hanging on to a candidate that barely gets through sentences unless he’s reading from a teleprompter so the normal political attacks aren’t going to work. When you have a candidate like that you have to swing for the fences and make wild ass claims about your opponent, hints : he’s colluding with Russia, he’s going to start WW3, he loves dictators, he’s going to ban abortion all over the US, instead of the rich and upper middle class paying a lion’s share of taxes he’s going to make the poor pay all the taxes and he’s ending democracy.

It is so ****ing weird how you are hellbent on 1. Normalizing Donald Trump and 2. Doing so with the caveat that you are 100% totally for sure not a fan of Donald trump

He hasn't accepted the results of the democratic process that transpired in 2020 despite losing constantly in court and getting a bunch of people killed when they attacked the capitol with a mob of nazis and gullible marks.

He hasn’t even accepted the results of:

1. The 2016 Republican primaries where he won but says it’s fraud he lost any state to Ted Cruz
2. The 2016 general election he won but lost the popular vote because of fraud

He is also on record he will only accept the results of the 24 general if it’s ‘open and honest’ (see: he wins)

Look the reality is to get the desired result you need a candidate who’s willing to tear up America’s unquestioned allegiance with Israel now and forever. It’s ****ing brutal but there will never be one

Netanyahu is just the guy who is exploiting it to maximum chaos and terror. The US is the only thing keeping Israel from being obliterated by the Middle East, especially now. Who the president is does not matter and that will always be the case. And even if you get a candidate who is willing to have their platform ‘we will remove all support for Israel unless they stop this or bibi ****s off forever’ they are unelectable before the game even starts. Debating America’s support for Israel is another matter altogether, but it was never going to matter who the president was at the time the die was cast

And yes, trump 1000% would have been all in on the obliteration of Gaza, and probably still will be when he’s back in office

If Trump was foing to mess with democracy he would have had conference calls with republican governors and election heads in the states he needed to win and demand that they find votes for him.

And democracy is just a shorthand for what we’re talking about, but what people really mean is the set rul s we’ve used for elections for 200 years. Like when Some crackpot attorney told Trump Pence could decide Biden didn’t have enough electoral votes to win and Trump kept saying it. Nobody could cite anything pre 2020 saying that’s how elections actually work because it was obviously made up on the spot because it was what trump needed at the time. In the same way, when Trump was impeached for the coup, McConnell told the senate not to convict because you can’t impeach and convict someone in an office they no longer hold. That was made up on the spot, multiple federal office holders have been convicted after they left office. But more importantly if Trump becomes president again does that mean he can be impeached and convicted then? Of course not they’ll just make up some new arbitrary rule that says they can’t like they’ve been doing. It’s impossible to defend against bad faith angle shooting like this because you don’t know what specific nonsense they will need before they need it.

Technically no one died there. But within 36 hours 5 people died. Since then many criminals and law enforcement involved have commit suicide.

1 criminal died after having a stroke that day (mildly related cause stress can increase risk)

1 criminal who had a history of heart problems died from a heart attack (mildy related cause stress can increase risk)

1 criminal died from undisclosed medical issues - some press speculated she was crushed to death but later on it discovered to be an overdose of drugs (wholly unrelated)

1 police office was initially claimed to have "died from his injuries" by unscrupulous media reports and his autopsy confirmed he died of natural causes (wholly unrelated)

you put tens of thousands of middle aged obese people in the same area and you're going to find a lot of dead people - i'm sure if we checked in on everyone who went to the last knicks game we'd find several who died the next day and many more who committed suicide in the oncoming months - yet only a true knicks fan would agree that watching them play will kill you
