SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and different.

In this game, a target word will be randed as will a row of 7 cards that have letters on them (most 1 letter, some 2/3/4 letters).
2 people will be the guessers and everyone else will be able to give a clue.
The clue given must start with the letter on either the first or last card (the 'sides' of the row).
We discuss as a team who will give the clue with open discussion in the thread such as "I have a 7 letter word starting with a C"
Once there is some agreement on who gives the clue, that person will bold the clue they want to give in the thread.
The two guessers will then discuss in the thread and bold their guess. If it's correct, we move on to the next guessers and the next word. If wrong, then the clue givers post some info like "you are warm" or "you are about 30% there" etc to give directional info on how on track/off track their guess is.
Then they discuss and give another clue. But the person who bolded a clue cannot give another clue for the same word until everyone on the cluing side has clued a word (if we take that long to get the word), so one person can't hog the cluing.
Clues have to be one word, or an acronym, etc like in codenames; they can be hyphenated words
We can also give some info on how the clues relate to each other, or even say a clue is a 0 clue, so the opposite of what cluing for (e.g., clue 'colorful' as an opposite clue because the word is zebra)
I'll provide more details and examples in the thread in the morning, but this should be enough info for you to /in and join so we can play.

Corned a great clue; woulda been nice to have just c card and beef to end last game…that’s how you one shot without needing other letters

There's a6/a7 but I didn't know this word until 5 minutes ago
At first I thought of a4 but it would need another word since that's just in the area
My A7 is very well-known, so different from yours. Gets decent focus, but we’d still need a banger of a clue 2
A5 may get it.
If they know the a6/a7 it will insta hit, but it's a pretty obscure word imo

so they felt no need to clue any words starting with I, H, R, G, D, L
so that should help us narrow down some and eliminate some words
so options:
sugar
syrup
nectar
tequila
succulent
cactus
flower
desert
decent chance it's in one of those or is a word related to one of those
sugar: aspartame a9 not clued; prolly not this
syrup: not seeing a lot for those letters; a possibility
nectar: honey woulda been mentioned; prolly not this
tequila: alcohol is an a7 that gets towards this but needs another clue; this is a possibility for sure
succulent: meh, is this on the list?
cactus: Arizona would be the a7; not as good as tequila right now
flower: hibiscus and iris and tons of options; nah
desert: arid, arabian, gobi, etc; nah
so tequila or cactus
tequila seems best; gonna look at the other clues mentioned

tequila - agave is dead on for this; I don't drink so not sure if there are great words I don't see or not, but this is prolly the best guess as of now
syrup - honey, hotcakes coulda been mentioned; feel like other stuff I'm not thinking of either
cactus - similar plant, similar region; a7 arizona, but otherwise meh; seems like giant cactus is a thing and woulda been mentioned?
