January 6th is religion for these people. Going to a museum to celebrate it is hilarious.

They could have incorporated this into the movie Crash somehow.

I spent the day ignoring it. You (allegedly) went to a museum because of it.

I'm not trying to kink shame but that's weird af.

I don't know what to tell you if going to a museum is weird as **** to you. Maybe go outside more?

Whenever someone says they aren't trying to kink shame, it means they are actually trying to kink shame.

Think of it as "I'm not normally a person who kink shames but this kink deserves some shame".

and also jan 6th was a terrible and traumatic day in that sense that a riot of racists stormed the capitol cuz they wanted our country to be even more racist!!!

that is some ****ed up ****! like even though dems stealing the nomination from bernie and the people two elections in a row is far worse... and actually gave trump the presidency... like the dems actually really did what the rioters were pitifully trying to accomplish and totally failed.. the dems actually did it!!! lol BUT it's still ****ed up to see racists rampaging around and rioting for racism

Again, maybe get outside more? It's a fun little tradition my partner and I do because we were at a museum when Jan 6 events took place and we didn't find out until the next day. And that I decide to spend that day doing something positive and new every year is weird to you? Taking a negative event and trying to make it positive? If that's a kink to you, I guess I'm just glad I'm not as sad as you are.

Yeah, I don't get this. I assume it's just luckbox taking lazy shots again. But really telling on himself that doing something positive like that is a weird kink in his eyes. It just sounds so lonely.

Once again, I have never said that going to museums is weird-- I've been to lots of them. Going because it's your January 6th tradition is just weird though.

Going to a baseball game every year on 9/11 because it's 9/11 would also be weird. Sorry I don't make the rules there.

I, for one, think the focus being placed on the throwaway museum comment (totally innocuous, btw) is way weirder than actually going to a museum. Shrug?

They don’t want the country to be “more racist”; they want the country to be a Christian theocracy. This is an important point to understand because it’s their religion that is the umbrella everything else falls under.

And it’s not accidental that the religious right is especially susceptible to conspiracy theories when the church has been priming their psyches to be open to magical thinking, often since childhood before their prefrontal lobes were fully formed. Virgin births, walking on water, resurrections etc. I mean, Hillary eating babies under a pizza parlor is… not a huge stretch.

I'd guess like 30% of Qanoners are not religious and a lot of the famous ones are faking it. Oddly I know two people who weren't really religious but always a bit conspiracy driven and they became Qanoners and then like pastors or something. (Only heard this second hand)

Then again last time driving through North Carolina the radio was talking about Bidens weather controlling machine.

I am drawing a blank on the author at the moment, but someone wrote a book not that long ago that posited that political tribalism -- the example was primarily leftism, but it would apply to the alt right as well -- was religion for people that don't believe in g-d.

I kinda see it tbh. But I think that applies mostly to people who still see politics as binary instead of what it actually is- a distraction that keeps us from eating the rich.
